Wishbones - - Is anyone else aware of this? In the Myrtle Beach, SC area people that are in the lifestyle are wearing wishbone necklaces and wishbone jewelry to distinguish themselves as people in the lifestyle. I'd like to see this phenomonon spread. The gay and lesbian communities have their symbols to distinguish themselves without having to announce to the world that they are gay/lesbian. With most people's desire for discretion within the lifestyle, an outward symbol would not only save alot of question, but could potentially save some embarrassment as well. When people ask me what mine means, I try to answer according to how the question was asked. If someone asks me pointedly what it means I tell them "Good Luck", which is true. If someone asks me about it that has that "Does that mean what I think it means?" look, I tell them it's a swinger's symbol. LOL The following quote is from the profile of the couple that started the wishbone thing in SC....."For as long as the swinging lifestyle has been around, there has not been a symbol to associate swingers with. Other alternative lifestyles have developed a symbol that represents them; the gay and lesbian community has the rainbow, the BDSM have their converted ying yang symbol; now the swingers have the wishbone. The wishbone represents many aspects of the swinging lifestyle. The closed end represents two halves coming together as one. For a swinger knows, it takes much trust and compromise to make the lifestyle work. The open end represents the open-mindedness and open sexuality of the lifestyle. And, let's face it, the entire wishbone reminds us that we live a lifestyle that many people only wish for. To the ordinary person, the wishbone is just a typical piece of jewelry. But, to those in the lifestyle, the wishbone identifies you as someone in the lifestyle." In this area, people are fairly familiar with the wishbone as a lifestyle symbol and we can immediately identify couples or singles within the lifestyle. My primary profile pic shows me wearing my wishbone necklace. I'd like to see this symbol adopted as a standard for all people within the lifestyle...Any thoughts?

Vanilla "life" just doesn't taste as good! - What else doesn't "taste" as good? -
The dirty little secret of the lifestyle (Okay, there are a LOT of dirty little secrets! LOL) is that it's VERY hard to go back to Vanillalandia and not become bored to death. We've known SO many swingers who "quit" the lifestyle and no longer want to have recreational sex with others but nonetheless still try to hang out with swingers and go to swing parties and such. *shrug*
You’re right. We’ve taken breaks, but after a while, Mrs gets the itch and convinces Mr (usually not that difficult) to return.

KUTV News Story on Swingers - News - So we watched the news piece and we observed that the lady they interviewed was rejected at parties and said she felt like she was in the 5th grade again because she was left out and her husband was busy as hell at the orgies they would attend..........this was nothing more than an attention piece on her part. She's obviously jaded.

Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - Intelligence comes in all forms, and all that drabble that oozes from your mouth tells me you might just be book smart, but you like so many other's who become Educated through our wonderful highly expensive schools seem to end up loosing common sense. I'd love to see you spend a long winter in the mountains of Colorado or the Back Hills of Tennessee with nothing but the clothes on your back and a few bare necessaties. Let's just see how DARN SMART you are then. I believe that the people who you seem to think are NOT INTELLIGENT, the ones who know how to take care of themselves, are also the ones who CHOOSE to defend your rights to sprew such BS. All your book learning won't mean anything when some asshole comes knocking on your door. So all I can say is WELCOME to this COUNTRY, and to all the STUPID MF'S (according to you anyway) who are DUMB enough to stick out their necks when it's really your's that is the one in trouble. I'm sitting here shaking my head because ONCE AGAIN I've been STUPID ENOUGH to allow myself to be drug into a discussion with someone who can only insult others with his HIGH DOLLAR EDUCATION. Where I come from we had a saying, "That person just don't have any fetching up". Totally agree with you BLVLCPL let's do that. And yes the style of argument does have a very similar ring to to doesn't it.

A&E New show about swingers... - neighbors with benefits.... -
Why would any industry sponsor shows about the positive side of Swinging? I doubt there is any big money in promoting the swing lifestyle any more than there is profit to singing the praises of plural marriage. The vice industry might even suffer financially should swinging really catch on. This is a lifestyle that must eat the crumbs that fall from the gay lesbian table to acquire any "me to" acceptance. It seems like social and financial suicide for the deep pockets.
They had a swinger pride parade in new Orleans this year. Maybe in 20 years we can have a table too.

ok questions for you laytonites....or anyone... - most people know my part time job... - I'm really curious too. I have run into people at parties that I knew outside the lifestyle, and ran into people in the real world that we recognized from the site. I would like to know if any research has been done as too how many couples in Utah are swingers (or a member count for this site that diversifies states) and what percentage of couples are swingers (I'm guessing it has to be higher than people generally think because of my experiences. Perhaps 20%). Anybody hear of any documented research that answers either question.

Issues at New Yorker…how do we fix them? - - Until an alternative arrives on the scene, perhaps just designating a couple of coffee shops along the Wasatch as swinger gathering places would at least give "swingers" a chance to meet face to face. Granted, you could not dress in lingerie, there would be no playroom, and you would have to have a way to self-identify. We are not full-on poly people, that are looking to fall in love, and establish something possibly as permanent as our marriage, but we do enjoy getting a bit smitten, and have quite a few friends who are full-on poly. Poly groups do this, and we used to meet with a group that met a Sunrise Coffee, and it was fun! We made friends. Good honest sober conversations. This group had a couple of designated nights. Maybe, the swinging lifestyle community could do something similar. No worries about getting raided.
