I know for fact that alot of folks don't even bother reading the profiles some may read part. We have had more fun in local clubs ( swingers type clubs ) where you get a mix. Confidence is a big thing and it doesn't take much to shake it. Just remember this is a place to attempt to meet folks , try to find some local groups or clubs that get together and see if that works for you. If you do go to a club do not be a wall flower again nothing happens if you sit on the sidelines... Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - hmm. being that he is 32 and i am 23, we find ourselves looking at a pretty broad age range. but honestly, and sorry to say (dont want to be a bitch and all :) ), I usually prefer OLDER people. now, you must keep in mind, that most people are older than me :) but for the most part i usually prefer to surround myself with people at least in their thirties. that being said, it is not the actual age, but mental age, that is the true factor........

Single Males vs. Unicorns - this is ridiculous - This site is no different than any other swingers site. I'm afraid that you will find good and bad in all groups, be it single males, single females, or couples. There are those that give their perspective groups a bad name, but unfortunately, little can be done about it, as it can be hard to verify who is for real and what someone's intentions are, without knowing them in person.
In my time in the lifestyle, I have observed...single males who were actually in relationships but looking for secret side action, single females, who seem to have a husband/bf who's looking to join...but she still lists as single, and couples who believe that simply because they bring someone along to a party...it gives them free range to do as they please. On the flip side, I have met some very nice people from all 3 groups as well.
My point is...all 3 of these groups have their roles in the lifestyle, but until a foolproof way comes along of determining who's for real and who's not...we will all have to deal with the good and the bad. As others have mentioned though...if you are object to a particular group and don't want to hear anything from members of that group...block/ignore them. Just remember that you are throwing out the good along with the bad.

Most of us are TERRIBLY bad at risk assessment and more often than not we fear things that are statistically FAR less likely to happen than things we don't seem to fear all that much. Some people won't fly in planes even though they are FAR less likely to die in a plane crash than driving their car to Walmart. And many swingers are deathly afraid of getting AIDS even though it's really quite hard to contract compared to, say, HSV, which most adults have actually already been exposed to. Identifying why you're intimidated might be a better use of your time than trying to find a needle in a haystack.
But in the end, do what you're comfortable doing. If you think finding another newbie couple is the least intimidating way to dip your toes in then, by all means, do that. Those of us who have been around the scene for a while, however, could tell you some of the drawbacks to meeting people who are newbies.
Personally, we would seek out a more experienced couple, albeit one who is NOT pushy and is willing to go at your pace and is looking for friendship more than sex. I believe my use of "intimidating" was a little off. How about nervous? You know...a little jittery, some anxiousness, and excitement all rolled into one...sorta what you'd feel if you were a beginner.😉
Re HIV/AIDS: Looking at the statistics doesn't comfort me in the context of hard core LSing. Now, I could mentally reshape those numbers to suit my desires but...really, it's of no concern to me as we're not interested in the harder side of things.
