A paradigm shift - polyamory - Your thoughts? Here are mine... - Hitting the topic of Poly.... I am poly my wife is not. We swing. I have a lady friend, spice if you will who is also married and her husband is not poly and they do not swing. We, all 4 of us are fast friends and both my wife and her husband have no problem with her's and my arrangement. THey also know that We swing. Now how did that person come into our life.. we met and became friends almost immediatly. I fell in love with her but am sill "IN love with my wife as well. I< we, like to become friends with people before we jump into the sack with them... BTW they both know that we swing. Could I fall in love with another woman, definitely.. Could I fall for a woman who we might swing with....I could and have. No biggy...If she is not into that I understand... Not everyone can handle the situation
Some one mentioned that jealousy are natural.... Only in the sense that by example we are programmed to them, just as we are not "taught " not to eat other people but we kind of get that impression...Canibalism(sp) is not acceptable any more than is marrying ones own sister or brother. Possessiveness is about owning somthing that is not yours to own. No one owns anyone else and especially not their spouse. Is it natural to own a person? I say no. Somehow when people get into a relationship the idea creeps in that says that the other person is your exclusive property. One need to put that aside if one is a swinger. As for jealousy.... Jealousy is a combination of both possessiveness and ones own insadequacies. Maybe one could describe that as fear.. Fear that she or he will meet someone better. Fear that we are not good enough, etc etc etc. So Jealousy is a reaction to these fears and the possessiveness not a true emotion at all. Everyone thinks of Jealousy as an emotion, which it is not.
So polyamory is very possibly with swinging but may purists of poly will say that poly and swinging are difinitely two different things... Maybe but they can exist simultaneously.

Coming to slc area this weekend - - We agree with SLCCOUPLE. The GSL has it all. Sun, fun, the BEACH. And it's true...you CAN just like float around in it. We used to think it was because it's so salty and shit but it's actually the brine shrimp lifting you up and trying to push you out of the water. They have to live there and don't want no stanky, skanky swingers floatin' around in their living rooms. Hey all you "totally secure couples" - Just in case you got it wrong you have methods to recover your loss. - Other than the law suit this is pretty typical of couples who try to "fix" or "spice-up" their failing marriage by swinging. They somehow foolishly think that having sex with other people will magically repair all the self-inflicted damage they've done to their relationship over the years. What they find out is it just intensifies all of it. It just gives them one more thing to argue about.
I've read all the newspaper articles on this deal that I could find on Google News. This couple was already in divorce court and just didn't know it. They definitely were swinging to "fix" their screwed-up relationship. According to her, she didn't want to and he coerced and manipulated her into doing it. Of course this sounds great in court for her case. I think the truth is they both had one foot out the door and this was just the break they needed to get away from each other. "There must be 50 ways to leave your lover" type stuff.
Unfortunately, they only strengthened what most people already think about swingers. You never hear the good stories, just the "swinging destroyed my marriage" or "I had some friends that tried swinging and they're now divorced." You look into it further though, and you always find out that they were already emotionally divorced, just not legally.

What is up with Utah?! - Swingers in Utah and nowhere else? - We use this site mainly for forums seeing as most seem to be in the Utah area we have been there one time to ski and that's been our only time in Utah. Viewers = ratings = being attractive to potential advertisers and being able to charge more per second for advertising = more profit. It has nothing to do about reality. That is why the story was so poorly researched and produced. It was not an attempt at doing a real story but rather to do something all the other channels aren't. The truth is far less interesting then the story they created about how swingers lure unsuspecting faithful Mormon men into a seedy underworld of sex and decption, leaving victims of their poor innocent wife and kids.
I said it before, they went into this having already decided what the story was going to be before they even put film in the camera, all they needed was a few juicy quotes to take out of context to support the story they had already written in a production meeting months ago. This is why posts that would be pro-lifestyle are being moderated off their message board: they do not support the story they are trying to present. Everybody loves a scandal, especially those with nothing better to do then judge others to make themselves feel better about their miserable, lonely, boring little lives.
It has already blown over to the point of not being on the front page of their website.
