What really defines a TRUE swinger? - - My definition of "Swingers" is a couple in which both partners have agreed to allow the other to have an intimate relationship with another person. There are lots of situations that fit that description and lots of emotional states that occur as a result of swinging but that description works for me. So as a single male I don't think of myself as swinger but as someone who enjoys hanging out with swingers!

Black Ring - Who has theirs and how have they caught on? - We have talked about this at parties with our group. Most have no idea about them and those who did said they never worked for them.. We also brought up the UPSIDE DOWN PINEAPPLE in your grocery cart and also the Pineapple flag flipped over.. Most had no idea on them either.. Some say they would try the pineapple in the cart while shopping, but most just say: We'll wait to hear from peeps coming to parties!!
Side note: One of our son in laws wears a black ring in place of his expensive wedding band while at work. One of his friends asked him if he and our daughter were swingers. HE WENT NUTS... Why would they? They probably wouldn't. I strongly suspect it will show only really fit, conventionally sexy, couples on some kind of a bedroom merry-go-round. Along with, if they find it, some couple or couples whose relationship gets screwed up by swinging. And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they created a situation like that for the show if they didn't just find one.
But a REAL reality show about swinging, showing people from 18 through their 60s or 70s, with the biggest single group in their 40s, with bodies ranging from incredibly skinny through obese? People who are, except for having rejected society's "you only have sex with your significant other" commandment, are absolutely and completely normal people? No, THAT show they'd never sponsor.
I expect that this show, if it has any effect at all on society's view of swinging, will have a negative one, reinforcing the idea that swingers will jump into bed with anyone, and leading to even more people "signing up" in the expectation of getting laid whenever they feel like it.
Distances and meeting swing partners - - Some of the most fun we have had was with cpls just passing through on vacation :-) Other than those travelers we limit our play to within a hours drive except of course when we go to a snow ski resort and setup fun with other swingers who love to play in the mountains.

Unicorn hunt - ISO the ever elusive Unicorn - Don’t limit your search for your unicorn to swingers groups. Just be open and pay attention almost every where. We have had a few incredible memories with our new partner. Some don’t care for the label unicorn. The most bold third, friend, and lover we had the pleasure of spending many years with, worked for us and we thought we kept our business selfs separate from our pleasure selfs. Basically I had to let her go, after a few months. Shortly after firing her she turned to me with what seemed like a sigh of relief and asked. Can I date your wife?
