Before you do what a lot of individuals do on this site and make presumptuous comments, get to know the history of the website a little. The site was called something else when it started in FL. Rob, the founder of "Swingular" seperated from the co-founder of the original site. He moved to Utah and began marketing it here. That is why it is more prevelant in the two states. Polygamy in the local history has nothing to do with the amount of swingers on this site. It has everything to do with localized marketing efforts. The only people involved in polygamy in Utah are now mainly extreme minority offshoots of the LDS religion, like the FLDS or "Fundementalist Latter Day Saints" Church. They are shunned by the mainstream LDS church. They are the very reason many people today, still attach the word "polygamy" with mormons. I too, once presumed such things about them. After living amongst the mainstream members, I was quickly educated. I wasn't slamming you, it's just that we have a lot of individuals here that would rather presume or assume than take the time to research. It's kinda like people thinking most Texans are ignorant racist rednecks. While there will always be those that are true to the stereotype, it hardly means we should make such presumptions about the majority, when visiting. Hell they still hold KKK rallies in the south. Can bieng Mormon (LDS) and a Swinger co-exist? - - Every time I see this topic somewhere I wait until there are a number of replys and then put my $ 1.28.7 ( dollar three eighty seven ) into the pot. Religion is a means to control populations. Moral and ethics are dictated by religion and or organized religion first and then government... But lest we forget that organized religion was the government in the early days of the church.. Monogamy is the product of religion and government to make sure of heritage and property rights. BTW this is not simply a Christian practice but many religions do exactly the same thing.. Now, as for the Bible. The Bible is a collection of books and stories that were handed down by word of mouth and then laid down in writing in Sanskrit, and ancient Hebrew and then to a more modern form of Hebrew as well a Ancient Greek.. then a more modern version of Greek. These text were translated by the "Holy" Roman Church and transcribed for humanity and the masses control by monks under papal control. many of the Cannons of the Roman Catholic Church have been more or less adopted by the secular or temporal law, the law of the government. Some things need to be understood about the Bible. IT was written by men translated from dead languages or languages that had changed and it is entirely possible that it was manipulated for the purposes of the Church... So where does that put us.... We believe what we want to, what we have been programmed to or we modify that programming to allow for us to do what we feel we have a right to do. What we believe will allow us to still live a good life even if it is against the mores and ethics of the church and or the temporal laws. It kind of like going 70 in a 65 MPH zone... We feel we have a right, besides we'll probably not get caught and maybe we just want to see if we will get caught.. Doing things against ones religion is like that to some extent... Maybe God is watching Mary down the street. Maybe I don't believe that my church is right. Maybe heaven and hell are a fabrication of religion to keep us in line... Maybe God was invented by man to explain why things are what they are and why things happen the way they do... Do we have to reconcile our lives to religious "BELIEFS" or do we live our lives the best way we know. Harm no one if possible. Live life to the fullest, it's too short to play it too safe. Oh and before I forget, someone stated that they love their creator....Isn't that kind of like swinging.... He/She is not our mate. Oh and how about the old testament... All the wives of Solomon and David. How about Isaac... His wife gave him her hand maden and besides if you look at the text... he already had several concubines as did many other biblical figures.... I just read some of these responses today. We're actually shocked! Evil - 60 couples . . . WOW! This has not been our experience at all. While we are relatively new in the LS (since 2015) and we definitely have less LS play experience than most who have commented - our experience has been very different from that described . . . both in terms of our own evolution, but also in terms of what we have personally witnessed with friends. ALL of the couples we have met in the LS are still together and in loving long-term relationships (as far as we know). Part of that may be dumb luck . . . part of it may be in the 'rules' we set for ourselves. We don't play separately . . . part of the fun is seeing your partner receive joy, pleasure, and excitement! We also specifically seek out people in Long Term relationships . . . and we have stayed away from profiles that intimated a DTF (down to fuck) kind of mind set. Not that there is anything wrong with that - we don't judge . . . just not something we have been interested in. We are attracted to beautiful relationships. As for our own evolution . . we are STILL very religious, we jumped into the LS first . . . and THEN became nudists 🤣 We have made only a slight adjustment to our play style from our first adventure, and we have no interest in becoming 'non-religious' - we have found the LS to be a continuation or advancement of our understanding of the Judeo-Christian commandment to 'Love One Another'. Maybe we just haven't been in long enough . . . maybe we are self-deluded and are secretly living a life of cognitive dissonance . . . but so far so good. One HUGE change is that when we first started in the LS . . . we thought we would want to be completely anonymous . . . going so far as to create 'fake names' etc. (I know . . . but we were still virgins . . . we feel SOME guilt about that . . . but we have subsequently repented!😉) We thought that the less people knew about us . . . the better. That changed 180 degrees within the first 6 months of our stumbling into this LS. Now . . . we only seek friends . . . who can be genuine friends . . . and if that progresses to any type of sexual exploration . . . all the better . . . but the friendship rules. I'm sure we still have a lot to figure out in this regard - but we cherish our new and longer-term friendships . . . and honestly can't wait to spend time with these people. We are missing the summer live concert venues . . . and we can't wait till the next time we meet with friends. If that makes us 'poly-amorous' . . . then consider us 'guilty as charged' - We have somehow managed to maintain significant and deep friendships with just about everyone we've played with. Other activities? - Do you only meet swingers for sex? - With some of the folks we have met it was sex only and the relationships didn\'t last. The couples we have met with recently have also gotten with us for other activities. They have helped us put up Christmas lights, had dinner and done a lot of other things that don\'t revolve around sex. Of course we don\'t pass up on the sex either. :-)
