Does this happen to any other women? - General Discussion - This is sort of a venting as well as a general question. A bit personal, I know...however judging by other forums, I think it will be acceptable. I just want to know how other swingers perceive it and/or deal with it.
For some strange reason it seems that whenever we make plans to go out to a swinger's club for a special party, or a really good swinger's house party...Aunt Flo shows up uninvited. I have had her show up FIVE days early and/or three or four days late just to ruin a potential good time. I don't know if it's because I'm worried about her coming subconsciously or it's just bad luck but it's quite frustrating :( Please tell me that others out there have this same experience as often as I do and that I'm not alone.
Now I don't know about others in the lifestyle, but I have had many discussions with male friends and boyfriends in my life who won't come near a woman on their dot, they are repulsed by it. This way of thinking passed on to me so I wouldn't even consider trying to initiate anything sexual until Auntie packed her bags and left for the remainder of the month. I find myself very lucky to be with a man who doesn't mind it because it's "natural for a woman" and he has taught me to become quite comfortable with sexy time with him while Auntie is visiting. This is great because I tend to get quite aroused when Auntie is visiting.

How close is too close - - I think that the question poses a number of possibilities... If only one person is starting to feel something beyond sexual attraction then that person should step back and examine why they are feeling this way. If it is only one way then the person who is having the feelings needs to take stock of the reality of the situation and realize the potential problems involved. If the situation is mutual and noone else realizes it then the two involved need to discuss it... and they both have to weigh the situation. Why is this happening and are the possible ramifications worth the risks involved... If it is possible talk about it with everyone concerned and make a determination as to what needs to be done. I've actually heard about a situation where a couple split over a swinging situation and the lady from the one couple went with the guy from the other couple and the gal from the other couple went with the husband of the woman that went with her husband.. A real twist on the concept of swapping....
Being poly may put a totally different slant on how I look at this problem... since I am involved with a married woman. My wife and her husband are not poly... The other couple are not swingers and we are very good friend as couples... and everyone knows about she and I. It's very difficult to explain to anyone how this works but it does and it can..... So I have a unique perspective on love and swinging... or just married people and love between non married people in married situations.
I would generally say, however, that swingers should not get into love situations unless you and your mate and the other couple can handle this situation.. If a love relationship starts to happen run don't walk to the nearest exit and don't turn around.
Just possibilities .. There are quite a few poly people involved iin swinging...including some of the older people entering into swinging... It's one of the largest reasons why I would never join the GOP. Even when I voted more 'right' when I lived in Oregon, I never affiliated. What I find funny are all the registered republican swingers. A party that would condemn you for your lifestyle choices and would love to see you in jail for it. I just don't get it. I lived in the South and I will never move back. I've also decided that I refuse to support a party that tries to enforce Christian dogma on the populous despite the 1st Amendment, take away our right to search and seizure despite the 4th and the while banging the drum of the 2nd Amendment. Last time I check anyone can get a firearm. Can you say the same thing about the 1st and 4th? NO!

Explain why you like being a swinger - - This is what I think...The 2 leading causes of divorce are sex and money. I think if you can get your finances under control, and you are able to share your sexual hangups or fantasies together rather than having to hide them, there's nothing that you can't conquer together. What is it to being a swinger couple - Is it always this way - From an outsider's perspective, this is one of the most obvious cons to me about being married swingers; you still have to deal w/ the annoyances of dating. Like Harry says in 'When Harry Met Sally', "I got married so I didn't have to date anymore!" You're happy to get laid, but it wasn't only about getting laid; it was about connecting to other people and for whatever reason they didn't want to maintain the connection. I think that's why there are so many small group outings posted about on here; those couples have found they're happiest when they develop a like-minded connection and hope sex will be another activity they partake w/ those to whom they're connected.
Of course, I could be totally wrong and there will be no shortage of married swingers who tell me so along in a few minutes.
