Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - Being that we are in the older bracket, I would say that yes age can be a factor. It depends on the individuals involved, but many times people put upper limits on play partners and anyone over that age is a null factor. There are several women on this site over the age of 50 who may make some couples rethink their age limit or make an exception for them. Weare very active in the club scene here in NC and people know us and age doesn't seem to be much of a factor. I don't think that staying in ones own age bracket is the thing so much as the perception that older people are over the hill both in looks and performance. We have heard about it many times........... - Couples that are swingers - Thanks for all the great advice. We still would love to hear more. In this specific situation we had talked about boundries and thought we all understood them. The first time the guy came and then kinda got wierd as my husband was still with his wife. That should have been a huge red flag for us. The next night they still wanted to hang out and confirmed with us they were cool with everything and how he is just shy. So we decided to give it another try. We thought the way he handled it was very rude and immature. Granted when things get started your feelings may change after you have already started but you should never just walk out. We would have understood and if he would have told us how he felt. We will take this as a learning experience and hope it doesn't happen again. Again, still open to more advice.....

Is this one of your rules? What is it? is it fear? or something - Does everyone feel this way? - Don, I completely agree. I'm not suggesting "friends first" folks are wrong. I'm just explaining:
1. Why WE don't use that phrase...and folks often make offensive assumptions about us because we don't.
2. Why WE are always a bit uneasy about contacting couples who DO use that phrase.
FYI, around where we live, we have this whole "lifestyle clique" who run around protesting WAY too much about how friends is all that matters and they aren't in it for the sex at all, and labeling anyone who disagrees with them as "bedpost notchers." Mostly though, the way you get in their crosshairs is by telling one of them "no thanks." So this is a bit of a sore subject for us...as we DID tell a few of them "no thanks" and we aren't about to lie and say we didn't become swingers for the sexual aspects. Duh! LOL
