As much as I dislike what was said, I have spent my life defending his right to say it... This whole thing brings back a memory...many years ago (please excuse some of the "wording" as it's not meant to offend, it's simply exact quotes of others)... When I was a young Second Lieutenant, my unit was sent to do "riot control" for a large march by Hosea Williams and his group...as you can guess, the Klan, skinheads and other distasteful groups planned to (and did) show up to "counter protest"...my unit was scheduled to be deployed between the two groups... The night before, I was talking to my platoon...talking about the possibilities of the next morning when the march/protest...hoping that I might prepare them for the verbal abuse they were sure to endure, we talked about it and how to react...my platoon sergeant (who happened to be black) asked me "So sir...are you saying they might call me Nigger?" Of course, it was said tongue in cheek...he KNEW that is what we were talking about...knew it was going to happen...and simply put us all at ease by just saying it and getting it out in the open...his response was so true: "Sir, those are just words and I really feel sorry for those people who have so much anger and hate in them that their only outlet is such an ignorant display - if they were really capable of expressing themselves intelligently they wouldn't have to resort to that - when I remember that, I realize just how much I feel sorry for them...and it's hard to get mad at someone you pity" - plus, I'm a soldier and I have sworn to protect their right to call me a Nigger"... At that, everyone in the room laughed quite loudly...my platoon sergeant was quite the philosopher if you ask me... SO, Don Juan...free free to make all the comments you want...no matter how ignorant, angry or uninformed they may be...I will continue to defend your right to do so...if you ever come to realize just why you are allowed to say those things without fear of persecution, maybe you'll change your mind...

I really think it's childish when someone writes you an email in private, saying all the things that they want to get off their guilty little chest and then they put a block on me, so that I cannot reply. What are these people like 12 years old? Apparently, following the "Why so much hate in the swingers world" thread, the racial comments that followed and my thoughts on the situation, another floridian couple (I won't mention names), thought I was directing my comments toward them. So, they decided to write me and tell me how wrong I was about them and that I must be hiding my picture because it may apply to me and all this nonsensical crap, only to block me from telling them, they had nothing to do with my remarks. I would just like to ask these idiots that, if what I said didn't apply to them, why did they get so defensive??? It appears as though the truth may have hurt these two tolerant and progressive people. Why write me, trying to justify to me how you're not racist and that black guys in the Florida area are arrogant and "put themselves up on a pedestal? Here is what they wrote me:

One should never. at any swinging event, be it a house party or a social, ever come to blows with anyone at that party. You can say something to the person who encroached on good manners but if that has no effect or the person wishes to become violent, go to the owners/people throwing the event and let them know... If the bad manners continue simply let the people throwing the event know that you are leaving and for what reason....If these people are not responsible you might wish to let others know that these events are unsupervised and good ediquite is not practiced there.... But let the people who threw the event what you think first... they may take care of the situation, knowint that their reputation is on the line....One does not have to be nasty either just let them know you think it is irresponsible to let that behavior continue... The no fighting rule or no violence is one of the unnumbered rules of swinging.
