Advice for dipping our toes into D/s - - Sign up for a fetlife account. Go to a munch, if you're really interested then you'll need a sponsor. There are some great groups like the: menagerie, Flog or a lot of groups associated with the path. A lot of swingers usually don't stay.

STD testing and physicians - who and where - The Utah Aids Foundation in Sugarhouse does walk in testing Mondays and Thursdays. They test for HIV (rapid results, you get them before you leave the clinic), and chlamydia and gonorrhea for free. The chlamydia/gonorrhea are just urine for the free tests, and since they are localized infections, paying for the self collect oral/anal tests are worth it as well ($25/each), as people frequently have those without realizing and while testing clean with their urine tests. My one complaint with there is that they take a while to get results (about a week) and I felt a little talked down to when they pull you into a room to talk about safe sex and using condoms; however, that is a small price to pay for the service you are getting. While, as swingers, those are the two big ones to worry about, it is worth also going to your family physician to get tested for a full panel every few months (I do every 6/8 months for the full panel), since they aren't as common but can still affect people. If you need something quickly and want to avoid paying too much, the best experience I have had is actually at the Salt Lake County Health Department near downtown (http://slco.org/health/std-clinic/testing-treatment/). They charge per test, and they are the least judgmental and most sex-positive place I've found. The only downside is that they don't take insurance, so it doesn't count against your deductible, and getting an appointment can be hard, but they do take walk ins. Safe sex is fun sex, team! Let's all slut it up like crazy but keep it safe. We all have an obligation to police ourselves, and if something happens, take care of that shit!

Do your friends and family know about your lifestyle? - - All I have to say is its our Lifestyle... Not my familys. Most of are frineds are Swingers.... I have nothing to hide, all of my family are LDS and if they found out i was a Swinger, they would probley never talk to me agian. But if i have to except that there LDS, why cant they except that we are swingers...IT SHOULD WORK THAT WAY,BUT IT NEVER WILL... The only one i dont want to find out is my son, and right now hes to young, but i dont want playing in front of him. Hes only 2 yrs old but i dont want it to be confuseing for him...I will tell him when hes older. My non- LDS family knows that we are, and they can really care less.. as for everyone else if they find out, Oh Well....

RV Swingers? - - Well, shortly the wife and I will be buying a new RV and traveling full time for a few years. Is there anyone from the lifestyle that are full timers? We are pretty excited to get out and travel some and meet new peeps.

Too Many Fake People Here - Nobody really wants to fuck! -

Before we moved to the coast 3 years ago, we were pretty active in the Utah lifestyle, and it definitely seemed more active and vibrant than it does now, at least insofar as we can judge from activity on this website. Back then we would regularly do things with the same three couples, all of whom we met on Swingular, and we notice now that two of their profiles are no longer here on this site. So you might be right, although we hope not, because we had a blast with this in Utah. When we did make the move out of Utah, we switched to another website, as Swingular is strongly Utah-centric. In fact, we've never had a single communication on Swingular from anywhere at all outside of Utah. Hey, if things get too sparse, come meet us in Portland, which apparently is the #1 swinger city in the country. We had no idea about that when we moved to Oregon, but we're not complaining. Go to Privata downtown if you ever have the chance. And if you ever tell anyone that you're not interested in a physical relationship with them, and they lose it (happened to us one time), then they're no one you wanted to hang with anyway. You'll do well to be rid of them. If any of you ever make it to the coast, you're invited to sip wine with us and watch whales from our deck. Best of luck to you. And Happy New Year.
Our point originally was that perhaps these people aren't really as fake, as they are private. I think the scene here is actually still doing quite well! It's just changing. In our case, we're just not as "out there" anymore as we used to be....And kind of feel like maybe that's true for a lot of folks. And maybe it's our age...we are 10 years older now...and not exactly in high demand. That said...we just may have to do a bit of whale watching in Portland, someday.....
When we started nearly 10 years ago, we made MANY more connections through this site. Now...not so much. We’ve changed. The scene has changed. I remember bi-guys being afraid to mention it for fear of outright hostility. We now prefer a connection, and to meet first to see if the connection is there, if they are in fact real, and to see if they “creep us out.” We do enjoy finding new friends, even if it is just for the night, all the better of more than that. And just finding people who are a bit more liberated to share some company even if there’s no play involved is also great. We have much more to offer than a good roll in the hay, as do most people, and the hay rolling is awesome, but enhanced by an intelectual and mutual respect.

The New Neighbors Are Swingers - - That’s fucking hilarious! Great tips too!

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - Posted By: KRISTYLYNN2002 Reply posted on: Jan 8, 2008 - 9:34 am we are all Racist in one way or another,, so if you say your not ,then the only one your fooling is yourself, we are all good at puting blame on someone else, Alton We are all prejudiced in one way or another. Racism, sexism, etc, etc are all forms of prejudice. If you say "Pit Bulls are a dangerous breed.", you are not guilty of racism. You are guilty of prejudice. However, prejudice against a breed of dog is seen as way more acceptable than a person, religion, etc, etc in the social setting. Few, if any will say much if I said that pit bulls, on the whole are a dangerous breed of dogs because we can see from the statistics that they tend to hurt more people than any other breed of dog. However, if I said that black people are a more dangerous breed of people because statistics show them to be more likely to be incarcerated than white people, look out. Why the difference? Prejudice against dogs is seen as more socially acceptable than prejudice against people. All we are doing is compartmentalizing the prejudice so we can make certain ones more acceptable than others. Is prejudice good? Well, ask the insurance companies. They categorize people based on many factors to be good or bad risks. Profiling is a form of prejudice. Whether it is acceptable or not depends on who you target it at.

Moab Utah - Swingers in Moab - Just got back...

Is this one of your rules? What is it? is it fear? or something - Does everyone feel this way? - For the record, we're fuck first, friends later types. We didn't become swingers to make new friends. We could have joined the Rotary Club for that. LOL Frankly, we like our non-swinging life. We became swingers to add a few special "others" to our already great sex life. It was about fulfilling some group fantasies and the wife's bi-curiousness that did it for us. It's a LOT more serious for us to decide to be friends with someone than it is for us to decide whether or not to fuck them. It takes a LOT longer than deciding "do 'em/don't do 'em" does. With that said, we HAVE made a few great friends from swinging that we wouldn't have met otherwise and wouldn't trade for the world. And that fact that we are good friends AND swingers makes these relationships really cool. But we have found that most folks don't actually "get real" until after the first sex anyway. Before that, everyone is guarded and on their best behavior. We're too old and wise to choose our friends based on first impressions.

Bubulaplease - Confidentiality -
Something that has bothered me a little bit...when we went to Lumpys the doorman asked if we were there for the Sinful event. We says yes and as we were walking down the stairs some people upstairs asked him what was going on and he said it was a swingers party. I mentioned it to a few people that night and it seemed that it was a normal occurrence. We realize that going to the events we may run into someone we know, however, people who don't know about our lifestyle also go to lumpys. I would hate for them to know there was a swingers party going on and then see us leaving or something. My question..is this normal? Is it this way at, say, Sandy Station? Do the group organizers ask for confidentiality?
Unfortunately its naive to think a doorman would actually be told how to respond or give it much thought otherwise. Its unlikely they care unless they know it would jeopardize the business these events bring in. We realize the risk of being found out but we also realize that deniability is just using the right words should you ever fall into the circumstance of being asked if you where there for the swinger event at Lumpys. So our response for someone vanilla that we know would be OMG can you believe we wondered into to that event...wow what a funny mistake(as we laugh both inside and out). Many people would prefer to not put themselves in the situation but its always best just to have a game plan on how to react for judgmental vanillas.
