Swingers at work... - - About a year ago my wife was visiting one of the fast food stores she owns. It is one in the next town that has a full time General Manager and a manager so she spends minimal time there. She was walking thru and over heard two employee talking. Clearly it was about a local swing club but no one but a member would know. She discretely took one employee to the side and asked if they were speaking (female first name) and (male first name)'s party. She was. Ended up that several of the employee's were attending the same party we were going to. Apparently we had all been going but just never on the same nights. Needless to say it was an interesting evening the time where my wife and I along with three of her employees were all at the same party. A little space was given but by the third or forth time we were all at a party at the same time it worked out ok. The no play rule is VERY firm and it is NEVER mentioned at work. Thank goodness the store was eventually sold to new owners so the concern is much less.

Ugly people and swinging - - Thank you SHEKKI..for clarifying the why's of your forum posting. However...even as a "last straw" knee-jerk reaction to some pushy couple that you perceived being perhaps a little obnoxious and assertive (not to mention fat, old and ugly), your approach was...well...reproachable. Bringing an otherwise personal issue to the public eye, and targeting just one demographic group of swingers based on a narrow set of physical attributes: Totally uncool dude! In actuality, if it was indeed pushiness that tossed that proverbial last straw, and not the fact they were ugly...it was more of a personality turn-off than a physical one, don't ya think? ~J~

Sexuality - Where does it come from? - - I, personally, don't think you can change your orientation, it is something that is developed in childhood, and you are not aware until you become an adolescent. I knew I was a bisexual in my teens, and even though I primarily was with women, I always had the desire to be with a man. That desire has never gone away. Now, as an adult, I have learned that I can be with both a man and a woman, and be sexually satisfied. The sexual satisfaction is obviously different, but, it is very exciting. It is wonderful to be able to explore your sexuality freely, and bisexuals are very open-minded individuals. Again, this is my opinion. I have lived a good sexual life, for the most part, and right now is the best time. I have a wonderful woman, who accepts me for who I am, and loves to see my bi side in action. Dating other Couples - Have you done it? - Been there, done that, have the t-shirt. We know plenty of people who've done it, and done it successfully (up to a point), ourselves included. We don't know of many, if any, where it has lasted for more than a few years and didn't end somewhat badly. It CAN be quite heady and has the potential to take swinging to the next level. Unfortunately, it is also exponentially more likely to crank up the drama factor to eleven (out of ten). Quite often each couple has their own "agenda" (for lack of a better term) that is often at odds with the other couple's agenda. We've seen it frequently cause weird jealousies not only between primary partners but also between non-primary partners and in a few extreme notable cases it has ended marriages. In our case, we were relatively long-term swingers at that point who, although never really super active in the scene, felt like we'd checked off most of the things on our swinging bucket list and were somewhat curious if there was more out there to explore in swingerdom...or if we were sort of done with the scene. The couple we started "dating" wasn't really the kind of couple we usually were attracted to and maybe that was part of the allure. They also had a very interesting (to say the least) dynamic in their marriage that really was at odds with that in our relationship. Ultimately they kept pushing boundaries (started throwing the "L" word around and much more), pushed for more and more separate activities and were insidious in slowly and subtly causing rifts, both large and small, as well as a LOT of drama. We actually didn't even realize how much drama and subterfuge had occurred until we were finally out of the situation entirely. We actually miss them a little, at times, and often wonder if there might have been a way to talk things out and come to a better understanding of how to continue on in a healthier way but they've actually gone on to do exactly the same thing to a number of other couples we know (it's a small world in Utah swinging and word gets around) and it seems to be their pattern. Tldr; It can work. It's quite rare when it works long term. It has the potential for disaster. While it's appealing in many ways we don't really recommend it. YMMV

Sensitivities - a paradox? - I think you're right that "L'S'ers" vary in personality and other traits just like the mainstream population. I think there is a "liberal" stigma associated with the lifestyle that just isn't true. I mean seriously, why would it be any different than the mainstream? The only thing most people here do differently is their sex life. Some people here fuck like bunnies on Friday and Saturday and go beg their god for forgiveness on Sunday. A lot of swingers are more conservative than most vanillas. "Swinging" only makes one sexually liberal. Swinging is a sexuality trait and not a lifestyle. It may be considered a lifestyle for those that constantly evade friends, work, church and family in their daily pursuit of hook-ups. However, as a libertine, "swinging" is only one aspect, of a liberal lifestyle that I, myself, wish to obtain. It's not a necessity, yet not forbidden... It's a choice I can make with no consequence.

Swingers unnerve families at hotel - - We were there also at the Interlude event......Let me assure you No child was able to see any adult doing anything of anykind. There was no \"glass Atrium\" there were however glass elevators.. the Party was held in an enclosed invironment with security.. However to get to your rooms you had to take the glass elevators which are in the common area`s of the Crown Plaza......by the way all of the guest for the Interlude party were booked on the ninth and tenth floors ....Now if any child was exposed to anything it was less than anything they have seen on television or any magazine they can see at a grocery store check out line! Now for the mom who was highly offended ,, Her hubby was probably wishing he was with one of those well dressed lovely women!......Damd I cant wait till Disney Has a swingers pride day like they give all the flaming Homosexuals....
