Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - As a couple we have played with single gentlemen many many times over the years. The only time that I can consider upleasent feelings or hate ever came up with any single is when I was told by him to please leave the room while he made it with my wife. Party Etiquette - How do people manage risks? - Mr here. So, the party that we went to before Halloween was a good party. It seemed much like another orgy that I participated in a few years ago, except this time I had Ms. Honeybunny with me :) That made me a little more aware of how people were interacting with each other, and I have a few questions about etiquette in those situations.
Obviously, protection is important for a number of reasons, and pretty much everybody there was using condoms, cleaning toys after use, etc.
However, one thing that I did not notice anybody using was dental dams or any kind of protection for oral sex. In a world where 70% of Americans have some form of herpes, for example, how do you deal with the risk of contracting it if you don't? Or what if you have other STDs? I would hope that if you have a temporary STD like chlamydia you would avoid lifestyles events until it cleared up, but nobody was talking about it. What if you have a more permanent STD, like the herpes mentioned above? Or AIDS? Or HPV? Two of those are really common, but also relatively harmless; do people just assume that other swingers do/don't have them or that the risk in not meaningful? I didn't really hear anybody talking about it, but I"m not sure if that's unusual or not. What's the typical protocol for situations like that?
Also, now that I'm thinking about it. What would be the protocol if you DID pick something up from an event?
Isn't It All About Marketing? - Interesting what people post in profiles and pictures - I find all aspects of the lifestyle interesting. One of the most interesting is what swingers post on these types of sites - who they are, what they are looking for, and their public and private pictures.
Isn't it all about market ourselves? I will not make any judgmental remarks here, because we should not be judgmental in the lifestyle; however, sometimes I wonder what they are trying to communicate.

Where to go, what to do. - Non club activities - For our first activity we are going to try to diversify and do two activities on two different days.
1. An evening of something wicked: A delightful Eye-full
It is a burlesque show at a theater. It is at Fort Douglas Post Theater 245 South Fort Douglas Boulevard (Bldg 636, Salt Lake City, UT
It is from 6:00pm to 9:30pm and costs $10 per person at the door. This should still leave you available to get to the mansion party that same night if you were going to that.
If you want to be easily identifiable to other swingers (this isn't an event is open to any one) please tie a purple ribbon around your wrist. If you don't want to be bothered with that we will have our ribbons on and I will be wearing an obvious feather in my hat until the performance starts and I will put it back on after it is over.
For the second event I'm looking into brunch on Sunday so I will keep you posted on that.
