Rules - - This is not merely an issue on Swingular, but is a mind-set that we have encountered on every site we have belonged to, in every geographical area, and at many parties. Here are a few of our thoughts.... Perhaps one could say that this disparity is due to the fact that most couples are searching for females...either single or part of a couple? This is only PARTIALLY true as there are many swingers that are not looking for singles of either gender. Many couples are, in fact, only looking only for other couples to share friendship and intimacy. Perhaps the old adage "Men are a dime a dozen", comes into play? Well...one has to admit that yes...us guys really are rather numerous. Regardless of being within the Lifestyle or out....you can always find a guy, willing to hump your wife. Go to any vanilla event to find that out. Many might say that all single guys are pushy ass-wads, that lack the intelligence, class, or sophistication to show respect and patience towards a couple that's willing to share intimacy with them. Again, not totally true. We have met many polite, kind and respectful single men. We have also had numerous run-ins with females...both single and married, that have been just as crass, obnoxious and presumptuous as the most obnoxious single guy anyone could imagine. We like to call them the Bi-Nazi's: you know...the "it's-all-about-the-women" types. This brings me to yet another mentionable. There is also an unspoken "assumption", that just because any individual of the female persuasion is involved in swinging...she's automatically "bi-curious", "bi-sexual", or "just doesn't know that she wants to be yet". The obvious outcome of this mind-set is that unwanted advances, groping and attention comes towards the females/couples that are not looking for this type of interaction. Ironically, the same advances made by a male, married or single...would be dealt with severely in most cases. However...with the ladies...many consider it "appropriate", if not expected. Do you see the double-standard? Somewhat hypocritical I would say. Many get so caught up in stereotyping, and outcomes having to look a certain way, they are quick to assign social roles to various members of our Lifestyle. In the process, they forget objectiveness, compassion, and open-mindedness. Isn't that what we, as swingers pride ourselves on, "open-mindedness", and being "out of the box"? Ok..since sweeping swinger social changes (wow, say that fast three times...haha), are not likely to happen...Siren and I elect to manage what we know we can, and that's ourselves. We never expect anyone or anything to be anything but themselves, and let their actions and behaviors be the ultimate factor as to how we interact with them, regardless of marital status, gender, or seeking preferences. New Swingers Club in Utah - Gauging interest in new club - My husband already posted on this topic a while back, but I’m now adding my opinion. In addition to state law hurdles and liquor licensing nightmare laws, each city has difficult sexually oriented business licensing requirements and ordinances. Yes, a nieve person will think that a swingers club is not a sexually oriented business, but city leaders and members of the public will make a big push to ensure a swingers club fits within the ordinance definitions. The licensing process is very public and anyone involved in the licensing will have a lot of exposure. Licensing applications often require background checks, names, business site visits and walkthroughs, and ongoing mandatory surveys after the business opens. Publicity and continued legal battles with the state and city scare couples away. Research Plato’s a Short-lived swingers club in NYC that was briefly open. During its existence it was continually challenged, closed, reopened, raided, and ultimately put out of business. You are trying to justify your hate, by reading what you want. So if you need to justify your hate of pit bulls, with the CDC stats, would you also do the same against, blacks (drug dealers), whites (serial killers), asians(little dicks), native americans(drunks)? I don't buy it. It just stereotyping pure and simple. TR, I was trying to make a point that people use the raw statistics to justify their point. Seeing as I had a Pit Bull and now an Am Staff, and play with them all the time, I don't think you can say I hate them. And NO. I don't believe the CDC either. At least not till they can prove to me that WITHOUT human influence, the Pit Bulls tend to be more dangerous. Yes, it is stereotyping. As I said, it has some basis in the fact that there are a few that people have run into. However, when looked on as a whole, it might not show the same light.

Professionals - - FL4FUN, I'm just stating the socio-political realities of OUR area. It's a bizarre place. My point is that nobody really cares what working class folks do around here. But 90% of folks do seem to care what you do in your spare time if you have some sort of prominence in the community professionally speaking. I don't make the rules. I just have to live by them. A lot of swingers are looking for people they actually share non-sexual interests with as well. I see nothing wrong with talking about hobbies, taste in recreational activities, etc. in a profile. It just puts more meat on the bones...helps you get a bit better idea of who a couple is. As club owners, we are keenly aware of the fact that there are a LOT of different types of folks coming at the lifestyle from a LOT of different angles and hoping to find a LOT of different things. And it's all OK so long as nobody is getting hurt. I just recalled one profile I saw from a couple out of New Port Richey, FL, I believe. They talk quite a bit about the fact that he is a professional fishing charter captain. I found their profile very interesting. It was pretty detailed, well constructed, and enticing. You see, we travel to that area about once/year on vacation and I love to fish. I figured he and I might have some things in common. Another couple talks about the fact that he is a sky-diving instructor and she is an avid sport shooter. My wife wants to jump out of an airplane BADLY and we love sport shooting. So we have set up a meeting with them as well. The more detailed a profile is, the more we appreciate them.

How do you spot a Swinger..?! - tell tell signs of the lifestyle - I hate the term "swingers" it is such a label....its like saying "Gay"...to much generalization. Sexuality is so much more about the moment then some stupid label, besides we have had WAY more fun with people who don't even consider themselves "in the lifestyle." Don't rule "Vanillas" out, they are better at living in the moment, and not over thinking the situation. "Swingers" are flaky and scared, I for one am not sure why 3/4Th's of the people on this site are even on here, when it comes down to it they are full of shit. They don't even respond or no call/no show...blah! My advice is if you see something you like, go for it...the worst they can say is no. What are they gonna do turn you into the swinging police?

OUCH - Anyone caught swinging bu family or friends? - Have to say it happens quite frequently with us...comes from knowing so many folks, I guess. I tend to run into friends of my kids..at meet and greet locations..as well as a relative or two of my own...a nephew that frequents 48...A couple of coworkers are on this site... Tif has run into former bosses..co workers...a few have turned out to be swingers! Most recently, one of her son's girlfriends at a swingers birthday party...oops...
