Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - hmm. being that he is 32 and i am 23, we find ourselves looking at a pretty broad age range. but honestly, and sorry to say (dont want to be a bitch and all :) ), I usually prefer OLDER people. now, you must keep in mind, that most people are older than me :) but for the most part i usually prefer to surround myself with people at least in their thirties. that being said, it is not the actual age, but mental age, that is the true factor........
Exclusive Couples - couples who are committed to another couple - Ok! You have heard from someone who is poly....ME. But we are still swingers and no one expects us to be exclusive either.... anymore than we expect them to remain true to us and us alone. Polyamorous is a conjunction of a Greek and a Latin word. Means to love more than one.....I don't fall in love with everyone that we have sex with but I do have 2 secondary relationships. One woman is separated and we met her in the lifestyle.. We love, yes WE love her as much as people can feel love. The other were seeing what swinging was about and came to a club that we attend. The lady and I started talking and then on line and we discovered that we loved each other. I stopped by their house and talked to her husband and we, that couple and us are great friends and she and I are lovers.... and everything is open and above board. Recently while I was in the hospital from a heart attack, they came to visit everyday. So poly really isn't about swinging at all but there are poly people in swinging who are looking for exclusive relationships... I let people know that I'm poly because if the lady and I hit it off...... I don't want any surprises... BUT I never go looking for that type of loving relationship in the swinging community, i.e., "the lifestyle"
I think that some people use the word without a true understanding of what poly really is... Poly can involve sexual relationships but those are based on love not sexual recreation. My wife is not basically poly however, she loves that lady who is not attached as much as I do... so in a way she may be poly but does not wish to define herself that way.
When talking about poly and swinging one has to make a distinction as to what people are looking for in a relationship. And, let's not kid ourselves...swinging and sex with people outside of your marriage or relationship is really a relationship aleit maybe a short lived one but one all the same.
I'm just a person who can and does love more than one person. Like being hetro or BI or whatever..... that's just part of my make up.. I have chosen to be a swinger and if it lead to something I hope that I have let people know ahead of time and found out their feelings on that possibility... If they are not open to that but are sexually attracted, then we can keep it on that basis and I simply have to be aware. I think it can best be analoged to a couple or one of the partners in a couple being bi. They find a couple to play with but that couple are not bi or have no curiosity in that bent.... So they play and the bi part is never an issue because they discussed it beforehand and everybody was fine with the situation....
I belong to a poly group here in my state. the group is more a discussion group although they get together once a month and every mon or Fri to discuss poly issues. Most of the people who are in that group, over 300, will say that poly and swinging are two entirely separate issues and they are totally unrelated. There are a number of members, both single and couples, who are also listed on swinger sites....They are looking for sexual companionship and maybe, if it happens, loving relationships... So poly and swinging are not so exclusive nor does it mean that poly swingers are only looking for LTRs any more than bi women will only play with couples who have bi women in them.... Many years ago, a nudist club rented from a scuba shop on Highland Drive in SLC. Change of ownership killed that. Now the Wasatch Maturists will or do host a monthly swim at a scuba shop in Ogden. The group information is on their Facebook page.
We lucky souls of Southwest Utah have the club Southern Utah Naturist Society or SUNS. The club meets twice per month for a non-sexual nude swim in St. George. We have a Facebook page and maybe a web page. Also we can be found through the AANR web site.

Place to Hang out and Play - Have an Idea - It surely seams that the number of swingers in Utah is LARGE. Here in Florida we have ON PREMISE clubs that are completely legal. Yes every now and then the news tries to gain a few points with the religious WRONG. For the most part if the club keeps it's nose clean everyone else stays out of it. We also have house parties and places called house parties that are 3 days a week every week. We are members of an ON PREMISE club in Port Richey, Fl. The police have been trying to find a reason to shut our doors a few times. 1st go around was people that lived in the vicinity. This brought on an investigation and the TV NEWS CREWS. They interviewed many of the homeowners and also the people in the stores below the club. Well the neighborhood wanted us out and the store owners wanted us to stay pointing out how clean and decent things have been since the BAR upstairs became a nice quiet swingers club. About 6 months or so ago the TV NEWS crews were at it again. This time the people in the neighborhood watch all around the club had said their crime rate had dropped like a rock. NO reports of anyone ever needing the police or an ambulance and no homeless people hanging around trying to sponge off people anymore either. Also no broken bottles in the parking lot. So now the locals are happy with us... Go figure...
Only 12 couples within 100 miles on our search - Just using the search criterion of :non smoking, slim or athletic, 35-55, couples, soft swap yes, st - Well it is nice to get some intelligent on topic responses. Yes my original intent was unclear. I wanted to ask about the search function as so many times it seemed like I must be doing something wrong. I was frustrated at how you have to reenter all the parameters each time. And some of the parameters are different in search compared to what you can select in the profiles??? For instance in Soft swap in the profile you can respond with a yes, no, or maybe. Also how do you sort by excluding a yes in some parameter.? After playing with this feature I also noticed that some searches would get 2 pages of results and then I would go back and think I only changed one thing and get 20++ pages. The fact that I could NOT save the searches and be sure I just changed one parameter even though I thought I did was a pain as well. In all this I started to see some interesting trends that I was going to report on but by that time the thread had been hijacked.
Originally I reported my search results for this specific search and the criterion I used solely for help in this matter and being so stupid not to realize that I offended Smokers, bi guys, and folks not average or less. Oh and I forgot folks under 35. I am surprised not all the folks who have been members over 365 days didn't throw stones too. I wont be starting another thread ever is the overall result of this.
Whatever my intent was is not important now. I just want to say that we usually search and have met some folks outside of those original parameters and yes personality and many other factors can make the overall experience great. We don't have to call ourselves swingers and so many of you have made it clear in another caustic post like this that we do not qualify as swingers yet and shouldn't even be on this site. I agree.
