What really defines a TRUE swinger? - -
""Most single males don't know the meaning of "NO" and are just like stray dogs in heat that just keep coming back no matter how many times you hit them with a newspaper. Bad dog. Go away!!!"" Wow......most of the men I have had to 'swat' away with the newspaper are the married swingers whose wives get all the cock they want...but they are left with nothing. I consider myself a happy swinger...I enjoy sex but also known my limitations and respect others no matter what. Guess a happy swinging Adult..???
The same experience here, been saying it for years... Are there single males who fit the mold? Of course, however, they don't last long before being banned. Are there married males who fit the mold? FAR more than single one. Are there single women who fit the mold? Of course, but far more rare. As far as who's a swinger? Anyone who wants to be....It is a state of mind, not a marital status.

RV Swingers? - - Well, shortly the wife and I will be buying a new RV and traveling full time for a few years. Is there anyone from the lifestyle that are full timers? We are pretty excited to get out and travel some and meet new peeps.

I Have A Question - Poly vs. Open - Mr. and I have been in a committed poly relationship with another couple for 3 1/2 yrs. Both we and the other couple had been in the LS for 3-4 years before this. Our trajectories were different - Mr. and I were pretty bored with swinging. We had lots of fun adventures, but we both tend to crave more intimacy and I, in particular, don't find myself attracted to many men until I am intellectually attracted to them, and that generally takes more time and effort than the average swinger wants to put in. We had tried only dating unicorns for a year, and then went to more of an open style marriage (infrequent, but occasional hall passes. Sometimes with both members of the same couple, sometimes not). But even that wasn't as satisfying as I wanted and my interest in the LS was waning. That's when we stumbled upon our Others. We were at a vanilla swirl party (a few LS, mostly vanilla) and immediately picked them out as LS. What do you know, we clicked. I immediately was drawn to the husband, he to me, and our spouses soon felt the same. We began spending time together as a foursome pretty much from that day forward. Their trajectory was different than ours. They were classic swingers--meet at a party, click, arrange sex or fuck then and there. Sometimes these people became friends over time, sometimes not. They didn't crave the intimacy we did; they enjoyed the spontaneity, excitement and variety. Their relationship was never open. No hall passes, almost always straight partner swap with another couple, but occasionally they would mix that up at a party situation. So it's kind of surprising that they ended up down this road of polyamory. We just clicked and loved every minute with each other and really never have wanted to be apart. HOWEVER, we are all four still swingers in some way or another. It has become more apparent after the honeymoon phase has settled into a deeper, more real relationship. They occasionally still want that exciting fling. We do too, only less often as the stars REALLY have to align for me. Mr and I still occasionally like sex with a deeper connection. There have been moments when we resented their desire for casual sex. There have been moments when they resented our need for deeper connection. But in the end, like any LS couple, we were able to talk it through. And we were able to realize how all of us can be fulfilled and have our needs met. We just had to drop the jealousy and insecurity and really want to please the people we love.

How do you spot a Swinger..?! - tell tell signs of the lifestyle - The wristband would be very cool for big parties and swing clubs. Diane has a necklace with an apple that has a bite out of it from NASCA (was "North American Swing Clubs Association" but now just "NASCA" because they're international ). For those that know it the symbol says it all and for those that don't know it could be just some Mac fan or teacher thing. She did get called out on it once in a very strange way. She was at at GYN appointment with a specialist and he asked what the "Apple" was. She said it was her NASCA Apple and he came back with he had heard about it and "always wanted to try swing dancing . . . but somehow didn't think it was about that type of dance" with a smile on his face. She said if it was not for the position she was in she might have had a good come back but it was all to strange at the time. Both him and the nurse seemed very comfortable with the topic . . . we had heard there was a GYN doctor in the area that was active in the lifestyle so it could have been him. The real trick of having something that both shows your lifestyle and at the same time being innocent is being ready to go one way or the other when asked. Our family sees our boat's name (Swingtide) as just a nautical thing about the change in tides and how it matched a change in our life too. Those that know us online and we cross paths on the water spot us without a problem for something more than the change in sea level. It is too bad that we, as the gay community put it, can't come out of the closet. We have no international "rainbow flag" that we can fly and no "Swinger's Day" at Disney World. Lots of places and people come out with something to sell to identify but hide our lifestyle. The problem with that is it's always changing so there is no way to know. In most towns asking about a Swing Club would be hard because there are not that many and lots swingers don't go the club route. We remain a hidden community connected in groups here and there be it online places like this or clubs or just local groups of friends - we miss out on a lot of new friends because we have no clue who is who most of the time. They need to add a wrist band for couples willing to play with single guys (or not willing). I guess it could get a bit complex - Bi female of full swap/same room/couple sometimes willing to play with single female or a single guy . . . how many wrist bands would that be? New sales pitch at a swingers club "Programs! Programs! Get your programs here! You can't tell the swingers without the program!"

Too Many Fake People Here - Nobody really wants to fuck! -

Before we moved to the coast 3 years ago, we were pretty active in the Utah lifestyle, and it definitely seemed more active and vibrant than it does now, at least insofar as we can judge from activity on this website. Back then we would regularly do things with the same three couples, all of whom we met on Swingular, and we notice now that two of their profiles are no longer here on this site. So you might be right, although we hope not, because we had a blast with this in Utah. When we did make the move out of Utah, we switched to another website, as Swingular is strongly Utah-centric. In fact, we've never had a single communication on Swingular from anywhere at all outside of Utah. Hey, if things get too sparse, come meet us in Portland, which apparently is the #1 swinger city in the country. We had no idea about that when we moved to Oregon, but we're not complaining. Go to Privata downtown if you ever have the chance. And if you ever tell anyone that you're not interested in a physical relationship with them, and they lose it (happened to us one time), then they're no one you wanted to hang with anyway. You'll do well to be rid of them. If any of you ever make it to the coast, you're invited to sip wine with us and watch whales from our deck. Best of luck to you. And Happy New Year.
Our point originally was that perhaps these people aren't really as fake, as they are private. I think the scene here is actually still doing quite well! It's just changing. In our case, we're just not as "out there" anymore as we used to be....And kind of feel like maybe that's true for a lot of folks. And maybe it's our age...we are 10 years older now...and not exactly in high demand. That said...we just may have to do a bit of whale watching in Portland, someday.....
When we started nearly 10 years ago, we made MANY more connections through this site. Now...not so much. We’ve changed. The scene has changed. I remember bi-guys being afraid to mention it for fear of outright hostility. We now prefer a connection, and to meet first to see if the connection is there, if they are in fact real, and to see if they “creep us out.” We do enjoy finding new friends, even if it is just for the night, all the better of more than that. And just finding people who are a bit more liberated to share some company even if there’s no play involved is also great. We have much more to offer than a good roll in the hay, as do most people, and the hay rolling is awesome, but enhanced by an intelectual and mutual respect.
Well said!
