It is very unique. Nothing like it anywhere in the world. During holiday (July - September) there can be up to 70,000 people in the village at any time. It feels like half of them are naturalists the other half would be swingers. The village is fenced and you do need to pay for a day pass but it's not expensive. The point is that it's a closed community so everyone is friendly, nice and chill. The village was created years ago as a vacation destination for naturalists but has been taken over by swingers just because swingers spend more money so it has been turned into catering to that crowd.
Flying into Montpelier airport is smart and cab rides to the village from the airport is only about 100 Euro from there. There are few hotels but its smarter to book an apartment on booking.com or better yet... a local french apartment booking site. You can also camp (huge camp site) but if your flying in then that is probably a bad idea. We have rented an apartment in heliopolis and this year we rented a house in the neighborhood. It's not cheap so plan on anywhere from 400 to 800 per night.
Be prepared for very few American tourists. Mostly french, dutch, germans etc... Everyone is respectful and nice. Most are fine speaking english but that could turn on you quickly if you're not careful and respectful. We really had the feeling that this was a European vacation for Europeans. They aren't expecting the typical American tourist.
There are several pool party clubs that are open during the day but are super crowded. These pools are usually indoor/outdoor in a club and its very common to see many people playing in the pool and on the side. It's definitely a huge party. It also costs about 50-100 Euro per couple per day pass. At night there are 4 good swinger clubs in the village. It's about 75 Euro to enter but you get a couple drink passes included. Upstairs is usually bright and good for lounging. Basements have large and complex array of playrooms. People aren't pushy and you have lots of options based on how many people you want to include in your situation.
The village has at least 4 grocery stores, multiple bakeries and tons of restaurants, bars, lingerie shops etc. It's amazing to walk around naked during the day and lingerie with heels at night all around the village. You need to wear clothes when you go to bars/restaurants/clubs but can opt to be naked in the grocery store. It's trippy but very freeing.
Beach has sections for families, nudists and the last section is for swingers. That section is crazy. Expect a load of single men, impromptu blowbangs/gangbangs and public sex during the day at the beach. People aren't pushy so you shouldn't be worried but it may be wise to not wander back into the dunes. Search for Cap d'Adge in PornHub if you are really curious. Those videos are 100% accurate.

What is wrong with being a bi male? - - I've always had trouble with the fact that as swingers we are supposed to be open minded and different from vanilla people but when it comes to bi men we are so homophobic, as a group. It's OK, more than OK for a woman to be bi but men have been shunned as bi, in the lifestyle for as long as I can remember and we've been in the lifestyle for about 18 years now. At a hotel after party in a room there were 8 of us and one person made a comment about one time he was doing a woman who wanted him to pull out and cum on her chest. When the time came he cummed at her chest and caught her husband on the stomach. This brought about several comments from the other men in the room none positive and one said that would do him in for the night... Shit happens when there are a bunch of people doing what feels good. What's the problem. As far as bi men go it has long been a stigma that they could or were more prone to disease than a guy who is not bi. Women, even bi women have stayed away from bi men because they think one has a better than average chance of catching some dred STD. While bi and gay men are in the forefront of the HIV thing bi men, in the lifestyle are, I would think, are quite a bit more careful about using protection and who they play with.
From my comments some might think that I'm bi, bi curious, or other unknown by me phrase. I am basically straight but definitely not homophobic. Someone said here that when you are in a pile it doesn't matter who is giving head if it feels good....regardless of what sex they are. I've used this example many times on various sites we have been on. Men who are bi do not want to cross the line and try to turn straight guys. Most are quite respectful for your preferences. Now all we have to do is get the notion that they are somehow dangerous, i.e., STD wise and that they want to turn straight guys. Might be some but I've met a number of straight guys who we find are not that arrow straight when you get to know them. They'll tell you when they find out that you are friends regardless of their preferences.

Children - - am a momma bear when it comes to my kids. They know am a nudist but they DO NOT know my lifestyle. The reason why they don't know about it is because I think in their teen age years they have a lot to worry about and also they are discovering the world outside the home. Really? Both of us are there all the time and never realized. I've never though to look good for the gym I really just go to work out. The definition of cheating - - Interesting discussion. Certainly from a relationship standpoint the classic definition of cheating is being with someone other than your partner physically and/or emotionally. As swingers, however, we often hold ourselves above others and fall back on the lying and/or sneaking around aspect. Personally I feel that being dishonest with the person you hold most dear in this life to be the essence of cheating for me. When information is withheld you take away that person's prerogative to choose whether or not to stay in the relationship with you based on your actions outside of the relationship. There are a million ways people rationalize cheating. I find that a person's attitude towards cheating is a very good litmus test for the depth of their character. Now should we talk about cheating on a test or cheating other people out of their hard earned money? How about cheating on your taxes or at a poker game with friends? At what point DOES cheating become morally reprehensible or should it be "all's fair in love and war" and "every man (or woman) for himself"? Or as SIRNEWBY asserts, is self deception/lying/cheating really the only valid metric? Or did I misunderstand your point, SN? It would be interesting to get feedback from people (I'm sure there are plenty) who've been cheated on.
