Scuba in Ventura California - Scuba Divers like it wet and deep. - I am a scuba diver spending my birthday diving Anacapa and Santa Rosa off California. Black Ring, Right Hand - How to tell if someone's a swinger - OMG! Just had a client walk in and notice my black tungsten wedding ring (I've had one for a couple of years now.) He told me that it I were to wear it on my right hand it would indicate I was gay. I told him I had heard that it indicated other things (didn't elaborate) and he assured me, and I guess he would know since he and his partner have been together over 20 years and finally were allowed to get married last winter, that it meant gay at...least among his friends and acquaintances. Maybe we swingers are too little too late to the party. Besides, Ms. Evil said she'd never wear anything that dark and colorless. Oh, and fwiw, when we first started swinging (back about the time Madame Curie was JUST starting to glow in the dark a little) the big thing was a necklace, or ring, or t-shirt, or even a tattoo of an apple with a bite out of it. Saw a few people wearing them at conventions/takeovers but never once have we ever seen anyone wear them in a vanilla public venue.

LDS Survey Results - - Wow.... just wow. I would have hoped that since we have all made the decision to swing and embrace the lifestyle, that people would be accepting of one another. Does it really matter if someone is Mormon? Is it truly necessary to bash someone's religion to that extent? There should be no place or tolerance for that here. My husband and I are active LDS, and I am not ashamed to say so. We both attended BYU and we have no guilt. We took a marriage prep class in college and the teacher told us that whatever happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom. As long as both parteners are comfortable with what is going on and nobody is being degraded, it's all good. We view extra partners as a sex toy... nothing more. We keep our lines of communication open, we only play when our marriage is strong and we are not having any disagreements. It has actually saved our marriage and we are doing better than we ever have before. We both hold prominent callings in our ward. I thought this survey was very interesting... we haven't had much opportunity to meet other LDS swingers in so.cal (though we hear they do exist), so seeing the experiences and beliefs of others elsewhere is very nice.

We do kinda have a guideline that we try to keep everything as equal as POSSIBLE, given the circumstances (ie he's living out of town right now, while the women live in the same city). Basically, we have as much time as we want all together, but we try to keep the couple time even. So last weekend, Ms HB2 went to visit Mr. HB. So Mr. HB and and Ms. HB1 planned a weekend for the end of the month that had to be rescheduled because of work issues. He had planned to come down for St. Patrick's day anyway, so now he is just coming a day early so Ms. HB1 can have a night alone with him...which to be perfectly honest, is a better move for me (Ms. HB1), financially speaking, because my car is so crappy that I was going to rent for the drive up to his place, lol. This plan has worked out very well once we got the kinks worked out (no pun intended). The two Ms. HBs do have lunch together most Fridays, since we both get off work early, although that is just girl-hangout-time. We usually go to the mall and window shop and stuff. BUT that time doesn't count as our "alone" time. We also get that just as often as each of us gets time alone with the Mr. We are an equilateral triangle in every sense of the word. When Mr. Halfbaked and I get married, we are also marrying her. In fact, Ms. HB2 would be perfectly willing to marry me instead, and I'd be happy with that, and so would Mr. HB, but we all like Ohio, and want to stay here, where same-sex marriage/domestic partnership/whatever you want to call it is not legal. Ms. HB2 has children from a previous relationship (BEFORE the guy she was with when we met), and they have met us both; we are both planning to have children with Mr. HB, and we will raise them together, though we haven't worked out how we're going to function in public (schools and such). We are actually looking for houses right now. We are kinda flying by the seats of our collective pants, which is why we decided to post on here, looking for advice if anyone had it. We figured out early on that to handle the jealousy that was bound to come up (as it did, because we're only human), we had to make this as equal as possible. Mr. HB and Ms. HB1 have been together for six years, and Ms. HB2 is less than a year into the relationship...so she had some jealousy issues with how well we knew each other, and such. Ms. HB1 had some jealousy issues with the NRE that was going on with the other two, and Mr. HB was *quite* afraid that the two Misses would decide he wasn't worth the effort and dump him all together. Also, we figured that if we wanted this to last forever (and we do, not that MOST people don't start relationships where marriage is an assumed future with the same goals), we had to recognize that there were FOUR relationships that deserved and required equal attention and care: Mr. and Ms. HB1; Mr. and Ms. HB2, Ms. HB1 and Ms. HB2; and all three of us. I guess what we're looking for is either someone who has a long-term example of success to show us, so we could ask them how they did/do it (as a lot of newlyweds want to know from long-married couples), OR a place where we could find such people like we found this lovely community of swingers. P.S. I (Ms. HB1, the one in the pictures) do 99.999% of the posting on here, so when the pronouns switch from "we/us" to "I/me", it is a safe bet that you are hearing from me. PurfectLV party this weekend - - We know in some circles it is considered bad form to reply to your own post, but we thought an update on PurrfectLV would be useful for some. We went to the party last Friday night and we really enjoyed it. The venue at the top of the Mandalay Bay is fantastic. The swinger group has a separate room with a bar and with music at a low volume so conversation is easy. You can also go mingle in the main club/bar if you want to dance. There is also a great outdoor patio/balcony with a view of the Strip. The crowd (at least those we talked to) were mostly out of towners - for example, there was a whole party from Alaska who had only arrived in Vegas that night. There did also seem to be some regulars. Everyone seemed very easygoing and friendly - like most swingers. You can buy the admission ticket online before hand (we did) - it is more expensive to pay at the door. Online cost was $40 (plus a fee) for a couple with no additional charge for our third (a single female). Adding a single guy would ramp this up significantly. We are not sure how this compares to the regular admission to the club but it seemed reasonable given the private room. Bar prices were a bit steep by SLC standards - $14 for a glass of wine. Iman is a gracious and efficient hostess. She does this every week and has obviously streamlined the process. One really nice touch is that PurrfectLV guests don't have to stand in the regular line and are given a wristband. This gets you into the private room and means that you can also recognize other swingers even in the main bar. The main party runs from 10.30pm. At 1.30pm many people moved on to the after party which is in a hotel suite. This party is effectively a private house party and is BYOB. We didn't go so can't comment but it is definitely a full swing party. Iman circulates at the main party and distributes a second wristband for those interested. There is an additional contribution for this ($20/couple, single female again free).

Mormons - - We too find a suprising amount of swingers either are or were mormon, but then again maybe its not so surprising. I often refer to it as the 'Preachers daughter' syndrom: either your pure or you do what you want and flaunt it. Utah seemed to produce alot more of the latter.
