Party Etiquette - How do people manage risks? - Mr here. So, the party that we went to before Halloween was a good party. It seemed much like another orgy that I participated in a few years ago, except this time I had Ms. Honeybunny with me :) That made me a little more aware of how people were interacting with each other, and I have a few questions about etiquette in those situations. Obviously, protection is important for a number of reasons, and pretty much everybody there was using condoms, cleaning toys after use, etc. However, one thing that I did not notice anybody using was dental dams or any kind of protection for oral sex. In a world where 70% of Americans have some form of herpes, for example, how do you deal with the risk of contracting it if you don't? Or what if you have other STDs? I would hope that if you have a temporary STD like chlamydia you would avoid lifestyles events until it cleared up, but nobody was talking about it. What if you have a more permanent STD, like the herpes mentioned above? Or AIDS? Or HPV? Two of those are really common, but also relatively harmless; do people just assume that other swingers do/don't have them or that the risk in not meaningful? I didn't really hear anybody talking about it, but I"m not sure if that's unusual or not. What's the typical protocol for situations like that? Also, now that I'm thinking about it. What would be the protocol if you DID pick something up from an event?

Swinger cruise - YOLO cruise on Carnival Legend (April 26th) - We've been in the lifestyle for about 3-3 1/2 years and I am wondering if most swingers are also nudists. I am curious because of this discussion about when/if nudity is allowed around the pool. When BEACHWITHUS said the following, "implying that anytime you want to lounge poolside, you can do so, nude, which is what you'd expect from a lifestyle cruise" I wondered if this IS what people expect on a lifestyle cruise. While we've gone to nudist resorts several times for lifestyle parties, and are comfortable being nude in that environment, we don't consider ourselves nudists. I know that many nudists are quick to clarify that they are NOT swingers. Are there swingers who also feel they aren't nudists? We've been on other lifestyle cruises that were not complete take-overs (since this is the first after all) and it was still a good time even though there were MANY more restrictions & limitations around the ship except for in the private lounge they provided where we could be skimpier, saucier, racier...awww, you get the idea. LOL Being free to be more open and dress sexier can make this cruise much more fun and exciting! It seems from the message sent out clarifying the rules about nudity on the ship that we'll get to see lots of skin for all but 2 days while in port. I'm willing to bet that ANY number foreign nationals would love to trade places with you right now. When you put your own self needs away for a short moment and realize, like so many post before mine have said, there are families without fathers and mothers because they fought for something bigger than themselves, we, you and I, are not that important in the grand scheme of things. Young men and women, some as young as 18 years of age, are sleeping in tents, eating food from plastic bags, and waiting for the next mortar round to hit nearby, because they were asked too. Many of whom probably do not agree with their situation, but realize that they are their, giving of themselves for a greater good. These people deserve at the very least a soft thank you once a year. DJQ, you are intitled to your opinion, no one will force you to believe something else like the days of inquisition. But please, for all those who have given of themselves, past and current, have just a shred of decency and gratitude that you are able to live the life you have.
