1) Be honest.. Don't try to mislead people about who or what you are.

What is your main lifestyle insecurities? - - I have to agree with Pals4Fun, medical issues can be very frustrating for the person experiencing them. It is one of the main reasons we are lurkers on this site, but not active swingers. I applaud the efforts of anyone that has these kinds of issues and is still willing to put themselves out there to play, and I agree that nobody should look at these types of issues as meaning that the person is not wanting to be there.
Now I know that it's a hit to some peoples ego when not every cock in the room stands at attention when they walk in, but unless the person actually tells you verbally, it doesn't mean your not sexy to them, I can be amazingly aroused and horny as hell, but my schlong can still be the floppiest shlort you've ever seen... And no amount of manipulation, medication, or mental masturbation helps the aforementioned situation. This is when my liberal application of my credit card to Amazon's Sexual Wellness Store saves me from humiliation, I grab a tool from my nightstand drawer and the Hitachi Magic Wand and tell the person about to receive that I'm really wanting to experience their full satisfaction first, and I go to town making sure they won't be able to walk or speak a coherent sentence for the next few hours......
Dating other Couples - Have you done it? - Been there, done that, have the t-shirt. We know plenty of people who've done it, and done it successfully (up to a point), ourselves included. We don't know of many, if any, where it has lasted for more than a few years and didn't end somewhat badly.
It CAN be quite heady and has the potential to take swinging to the next level. Unfortunately, it is also exponentially more likely to crank up the drama factor to eleven (out of ten).
Quite often each couple has their own "agenda" (for lack of a better term) that is often at odds with the other couple's agenda. We've seen it frequently cause weird jealousies not only between primary partners but also between non-primary partners and in a few extreme notable cases it has ended marriages.
In our case, we were relatively long-term swingers at that point who, although never really super active in the scene, felt like we'd checked off most of the things on our swinging bucket list and were somewhat curious if there was more out there to explore in swingerdom...or if we were sort of done with the scene.
The couple we started "dating" wasn't really the kind of couple we usually were attracted to and maybe that was part of the allure. They also had a very interesting (to say the least) dynamic in their marriage that really was at odds with that in our relationship. Ultimately they kept pushing boundaries (started throwing the "L" word around and much more), pushed for more and more separate activities and were insidious in slowly and subtly causing rifts, both large and small, as well as a LOT of drama. We actually didn't even realize how much drama and subterfuge had occurred until we were finally out of the situation entirely.
We actually miss them a little, at times, and often wonder if there might have been a way to talk things out and come to a better understanding of how to continue on in a healthier way but they've actually gone on to do exactly the same thing to a number of other couples we know (it's a small world in Utah swinging and word gets around) and it seems to be their pattern.
Tldr; It can work. It's quite rare when it works long term. It has the potential for disaster. While it's appealing in many ways we don't really recommend it. YMMV
Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - Well then Sunny! I guess we might just be too "Old For Yer A Liken". Naked beach - Stansbury island - As spring gets a little closer come out to the beach and work on your tan. It's a ghost town now but as temps get about 70 it'll get busier. There are all types of people there. Dudes, LGBTQ, couples, nudists (like us), swingers. The further away from the sagebrush you go the less bugs just be careful it can get muddy too. People go all the time we like to go Sunday afternoons. It's not a legal nude area so be careful and respectful. That being said in 10 years we've never had an issue. It's a beautiful place to camp. Playfulness to the north end, vanilla to the south.
RECOGNIZING OTHER SWINGERS - Outside of clubs & parties. - They did wrist bands before with some numbers that meant swingers. But I think it's much easier and straight-forward to come here.

what the f#%@ was he thinking? - swingers still deserve respect - WE've received emails and ims like that before... yes my wife is absolutely my best friend, and yes it pisses me off to see msgs like that. However i agree lifes too short to stay mad at them as well as the fact we'll see more action than he will. Wickedwanda is more forgiving about these folks ... we avoid the single guys online becasue most just don't know how to act. Now understand if we meet them in person we've met some very nice single men... that have contacted us online and we've said not interested. So I guess its possible, but as long as there are rude folks like that, not gonna make it easier for single dudes
Swinging with Vanillas - Any success stories? - well first off we were all Vanilla at one time.
We were the other couple being introduced to swing by good friends. We knew they were swingers, not because they told us but someone else "outed" them. it was just sexy flirting and a slow build, Not "hey we are swingers lets fuck".
our suggestion, because they are friends take it slow, put it out there and read how they take it. if they are good friends either way they will still be friends.
