I don't think you can generalize people by locale. Political position also has nothing to do with tact. Both Dems and Reps can "mud sling" and both can be vulgar. You can't say that all southern people are well-mannered and cordial, after all they still have the highest levels of open racism in their states, to include forms of self-imposed segregation. We know first hand, we moved from the south to Utah. A year in the South Carolina (An Uber Republican State), we saw racism, like we've never seen it. Does that mean all Southern people are ignorant racists??? No, just as it means that not all are good well mannered, polite individuals. The same applies to the more liberal states. Locale has absolutely nothing to do with it. Thinking like that... generalizing... sterotyping is what breeds hate and intolerance. Using these forums as an example; most people that claim that they are above the mud slinging, name calling or other social taboos, are a regular source of it. They are the first to critisize everyone they interact with, yet pull no punches and often hypocritically violate the rules they try to impose on everyone. I've learned that there are a lot of people here that like to dictate to others what swinging and social interaction should be, yet they do not wish to be generalized or categorized within those confines. Regarding the subject of this thread... I think that if you have an attractive quality a "draw" and there is someone available that is draw to said quality, then you will be successful. Before you do what a lot of individuals do on this site and make presumptuous comments, get to know the history of the website a little. The site was called something else when it started in FL. Rob, the founder of "Swingular" seperated from the co-founder of the original site. He moved to Utah and began marketing it here. That is why it is more prevelant in the two states. Polygamy in the local history has nothing to do with the amount of swingers on this site. It has everything to do with localized marketing efforts. The only people involved in polygamy in Utah are now mainly extreme minority offshoots of the LDS religion, like the FLDS or "Fundementalist Latter Day Saints" Church. They are shunned by the mainstream LDS church. They are the very reason many people today, still attach the word "polygamy" with mormons. I too, once presumed such things about them. After living amongst the mainstream members, I was quickly educated. I wasn't slamming you, it's just that we have a lot of individuals here that would rather presume or assume than take the time to research. It's kinda like people thinking most Texans are ignorant racist rednecks. While there will always be those that are true to the stereotype, it hardly means we should make such presumptions about the majority, when visiting. Hell they still hold KKK rallies in the south. There are lots of pitchforks and torches on swingular LOL!

courtesy - dates and communication - When we started swinging there was no internet....not like today where it takes a few seconds to find someone you want to fuck and shoot off an email or a friend request. We had to find a magazine with ads for swingers (at an adult book store), write a letter, probably include a Polaroid pic with the letter and mail it and wait for a reply...which didn't always come. So I guess we kind of were conditioned to not really worry about it too much especially once internet swinging happened and it didn't take so much work to reach out. Now it takes so little effort to contact potential playmates that many people often spam out large numbers of emails in a shotgun approach or do the same with friend requests. We've, sadly, gotten to the point in our swinging career where we DON'T respond to blind friend requests or emails that are obviously sent to multiple people (no mention specifically of us or our profile). We used to respond but found that at least half the time we then got no response in return so we assumed the senders got a BBD (bigger, better deal) and were no longer interested. We really don't get our panties in a wad over it. I kind of look at it like an unsolicited spam email from someone wanting to clean my carpets. I really don't feel a great need to respond even though it would be the POLITE thing to do. Although I am seriously considering writing back to that Nigerian prince who wants to give me a million bucks. How to identify yourself as a Swinger - - FWIW we're on several other swing sites and one of them has an app for your smartphone that will alert you if you are close to another swinger (assuming they also have the app and it's enabled) and allows you to text them. Yeah, that one's pretty much been a bust as well even though it's actually a pretty good idea. People forget to turn it on (they usually don't leave it running when they're at work or home or at church just in case someone they really don't want to know they're a swinger somehow has the app) when they're actually in a vanilla situation where they wouldn't mind being approached.
