Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - I'd like to make a distinction here, if I might. I'm always a little disappointed when I read about Veterans on Memorial Day. Not to find fault, at all, mind you - but let me explain... I'm as grateful as anyone for our Veterans; the people who served (and still do) every day to defend our way of life. They are, without questions, this nation's very best. I was one of them, and my wife...so we know the very special sacrifices that every Veteran makes; every Veteran's family makes... But, remember: we have a day, just for remembering those people: It's November the 11th, and while it started out being called 'Armistice Day', it is now called 'Veterans Day'. That, my friends, is the day to show how much you appreciate what those people do. But what of today? What about Memorial Day? Well, as an honorably discharged Veteran, and a military brat...I'm very glad you all feel so proud, and I'd trade nothing for the privilege of serving this country as I did. But Memorial Day's not for me. In spite of anything I may have done for this country - regardless of whatever sacrifice I may have made...I did not pay the price that Memorial Day is intended to honor. I wrote a poem, and I hope you can understand the meaning... ____________________________________________________ Don't remember me today, for I didn't pay the price Shed a tear and say your thanks for one who sacrificed my time was short in uniform thank God I was not killed my fallen brothers wear today that which they always will My time will come, on Veteran's day and I will proudly smile if you extend your thanks to me for going an extra mile They gave their all so we could say we live forever free so for today, I ask you please to not remember me... ____________________________________________________ Finally, because I'm always compelled to remember the great sacrifice and honor with which some did serve...and page from history: ____________________________________________________ Lydia Bixby, November 21, 1864 Dear Madam, I have been shown in the files of the War Department, a statement of the Adjutant General Of Massachusetts, that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrific upon the altar of freedom. Yours, very sincerely and respectfully, A. Lincoln ____________________________________________________ Folks, let's all please try to remember, when it's Memorial Day: "...to have laid so costly a sacrific upon the altar of freedom" Take care, now. 2

Single male in this lifestyle.. - I have questions for couples and single females. -
Hey, bucko. Polaroid cameras didn't grow on trees ya know. And our P.O. box was like 10 bucks a month! Then there was the HUGE cost of depilatory creams, gaudy gold jewelry and Nehru jackets.
Well, that was the ONLY advantage to being a single male in the lifestyle back then. NOBODY was going to ever answer any ad you put in the mag, so there wasn't any point in spending the big bucks on a Polaroid, and they didn't come out with cheaper ones that most people could afford until what, late '70s I think it was? (I wonder how many people on the site ever even saw one of those) Anyway,no need for a camera or a PO box for replies, there wouldn't ever be any replies. That "advantage" was offset big time by the fact that the only way you ever even knew about any gatherings, let alone got into them, was if someone knew you and asked you. Which hardly ever happened even if you knew a couple dozen swingers, like I did, because it WAS essentially wife swapping back then. Or if not full swapping, a sort of swapping with everyone in the same room So if you didn't have a lady with you, you had nothing to offer. I was incredibly lucky 'cause I was really good friends with a few couples, friends to the point that I once in a great while got to got with the mrs. to a party. If it weren't for that I doubt I'd have ever gotten into anything. I'm not certain, because it was something that never came up with me personally, but as far as I knew, back then single guys weren't even welcome if a couple brought them. It was all one guy and one girl, or forget about it. I don't really know what went on through the few mags, because, knowing it'd be a waste of time, I never bothered. And I never had to buy disco clothes, I grew up with Hippie rock and folk, and always hated disco as what destroyed rock and roll as well as folk. Hell, the only difference in my clothes now is that the jeans aren't flares or bells and the shirts aren't either flowered of psychedelic 'cause nobody makes them anymore. But I do still have Frye harness boots, same as in the '70s.

Burnt out from searching - -
Maybe the problem is that you're shooting too high? I mean, don't get me wrong, everyone has their preferences, and at the end of the day, you shouldn't do anything (or anyone) you don't want to, but were in a similar boat of having to reach out a lot and getting rejected, a lot... even after making quick contact (or even longer contact) with a couple. Now if we didn't care who we met up with, we'r would have a different couple every night we had free time and some to spare, so having standards is important for time management also. What I'm saying is, if you're frustrated with how little (quality) contact, maybe you should give more people the benefit of the doubt. I can think of couples that we initiated contact, 4 or 5 times before meeting, and then when we finally did, had a great time and became good friends, but that also meant reaching out to couples 6 or 7 times before realizing we were wasting our time swallowing our pride over them.
The Lord and Lady of the Veil (Vale?) make a very good point. We've found that MANY swingers (Ourselves included.) are somewhat predispositioned (Yes, I know that's not really a word.) to constantly be on the lookout for what we might consider the perfect or ideal couple/connection and thus ignore people we might actually end up having a fairly great connection with because they didn't check one of our boxes for things thought we were looking for. Far too often it's too easy to overlook a good or even great couple when searching for the perfect one (That might not actually exist!). How much great or even just good sex might we be passing up in the pursuit of perfect sex? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Swingers - a couples only lifestyle? - Are singles considered to be swingers? - We also said in our post LUSTYTWO4U: "It'll be interesting to hear what others have to say." And you're right - we did say "to us" - we didn't say everyone had to agree. Everyone is entitled to their ideas about the lifestyle - as we are.

'No pressure!' or 'Boundaries respected!' - What does the opposite look like? - "...isn't it a given that one won't assault another person or attempt to do so?" One would hope. Unfortunately the lifestyle has become so adulterated (pun intended) by just about anyone who thinks it's a free, easy way to get NSA sex that you now have a virtual cornucopia of people who don't really "get it". What I guess I'm trying to say is that it seems like it's no longer wife swapping or swinging. It's now "the lifestyle" and apparently includes every manner of sexual libertine imaginable including those who view swingers (and yes I mean mostly females) as wanton sluts who are borderline nymphomaniacs that lack the capacity or will to say (or mean) "No.". It would be very interesting to poll women who have been in the lifestyle for a considerable amount of time, say ten, fifteen or twenty years, and ask them if they're ever had to more or less fight a guy off or worse, or if they've ever entertained unwanted advances so as to not rock the boat or harsh the vibe at a swing party. Sadly I'd be willing to bet the number would be fairly high. [em]Emo_8[/em]

Secret Swingers Club Ogden, UT - Clubs - Are there any other options to be able to access these clubs for people without a Facebook account?

Certified Single Males Program - A new program that benefits respectable single men - I could see a little "course" on swingers ettiquete (sp?) but I think ALL men should take it...My experience has been that men with a girlfriend or wife are far more likely to break "the rules" so to say... BUT I also think in lieu of that, maybe a system where couples can "ceritfy" the single men as being genuine and real, PLUS the course, the course may be one seal, the certified as cool another.... Who knows...Something should be done to make it a little easier for them...

He wouldn’t Listen to “no” - My wife said “no” he kept going -
This was my point exactly. A lynch mob mentality is not constructive and the one sided accusations(I am not questioning the legitimacy of any accusation)in any forum including that of this thread has only fueled the fire and now has overzealous members messaging the wrong couple with incorrect information. Please take my initial comment in the tone that it was intended and keep positivity in our actions within the community.
First, a posting like this is everyone’s worst fear realized. People are going to over react, they are going to take her word over his, and we all react this way because we don’t want to listen to both sides of the next story, we don’t want it to happen at all. Us all saying it’s not acceptable is our way of trying to stop the next time. Second, you post about community. What separates swingers from people just “playing around”, is the trust between two people in a committed relationship trusting each other enough to play with others. Being a single male you don’t have someone to answer to, nor protect. Being single you are not a swinger, you just join those who are. Your postings show you feel equal to her, which you are not! This is why most shun SM in the community. Yes we do play with SM, those that know they are an addition to our already fun sex life, and approach it as such.
