Polyamory - polyanorous couples. - I have heard this type of response from almost every poly person I have talked to. This is mainly why we decided to try it, there are so many Peri's and everyone seems to be incredibly strong because of it. Of course there are down sides but what relationship doesn't have problems? Thank you everyone for your input I really appreciate it!
We have been in a Poly relationship with another couple for 2 years. There have been lots of great times and some rough times we have had to work through. It takes a completely stable marriage for the spouses and tons of open and honest communication from everyone involved. Both marriages are going on 20 yrs+ Every poly situation is different. Some have very strict rules, however we chose not to have rules. We just have mutual respect for one anothers marriages and each individual relationship between the four of us. If it ended today, I would have no regrets what so ever. Our lives have been enriched beyond belief and our marriages are stronger and happier than ever. I have learned so much about love, relationships, communication, and myself during these last couple of years and I wouldn't change a thing. We started out as Swingers and still have Swinger friends, but we are emotionally and sexually faithful to our partners. Five years ago, I could never fathom loving anyone else besides my husband. The other couple's kids are grown and we still have 2 at home. We will not tell our children the extent of our relationship with our couple until they are out of High School. Some Poly people blend homes and families. We chose not to do that, but do not judge those who do. Poly relationships are very challenging to say the least. It can be wonderful as well. Just my bit :)
Why do people.... - Booty calls - Actually, I know my first post sounded like it was ok, and a good way to find potential opportunities, but really it does seem kind of strange to be posting everyday...understand it is annoying to read the same booty calls over and over. My thought is, their post(s) really only affects them, and has no real impact on us. We have some good friends that we enjoy time with. Occasionally we like to meet new people mostly just to share some time and create new friendships, but it is not the end of the world not to meet new couples. We probably don't upgrade and change up our profile like many do, but our advertising approach is more like the kids putting up a sign at their lemonade stand, rather than the Lexus commercials; mostly because we are very comfortable with our life as it is. If we were making a living off of our profile we would probably prune it, and hire someone to make me (Mr. Karma)look good. Maybe even bring in a PR firm to find some power words so everyone would wet themselves reading our profile, but eh...love ya' all. Isn't it great that we are all different? Can you imagine with all the vast diversity and differences in this world, if it was only swingers that were all exactly alike? Yuk!

B_k_lovers - Getting over first-time jitters - ^^Most definitely Honestly, a large part of the lifestyle (in our experience) is figuring out what you want and how to communicate that with other couples. Personally, I would not just strip unless I'm sure all 4+ people are on the same page. They did a few seminars on this topic at Young Swingers Week in Jamaica last week. There were some good pointers there, such as using body language/touch (shoulder is casual, elbow is more interested, small of back is intimate) and gauging reactions. Or giving the other couple plenty of chances to say "yes" either through word or action by opening up opportunities to do so. One of the things that we like to do as a couple is invite another couple (or single friend, or small group) over to play naughty board games. Turns out you can turn any game into a strip game if you're creative enough, and that's a good way to allow people to ease into whatever their comfort level is. Every gets as naked as they feel is comfortable, then you can start swapping "favors" or "truth or dare" style challenges or whatever instead of stripping once you're as naked as you want to be.

KUTV News Story on Swingers - News - "A former swinger and faithful Mormon reveals the dark side of the lifestyle and how it ruined her marriage." Hopefully it covers the good sides of the lifestyle too.

Face pics - Just a statement -
Just my 2 cents' worth..... On one hand, I completely understand people wanting to be anonymous or protect their identity. At the same time, we're all here for essentially the same reason! Is someone from this site really going to "out" another publicly? Maybe I'm just being too simple, but I hope someone in public recognizes me from this site! What a great way to break the ice-"I saw your ad on Swingular...."
Exactly...what are they gonna say to out you? "Ooooo I saw they have a profile on a swingers site!" Oh yeah? What the hell were you doing on a swingers site?? Can't really out you without outting themselves ;) Blueeyes...didn't u say one time that you had ended up accecpting a friend request from a relative because neither of you had face pics? Aaaaaawkward :P lol

Wishbones - - Is anyone else aware of this? In the Myrtle Beach, SC area people that are in the lifestyle are wearing wishbone necklaces and wishbone jewelry to distinguish themselves as people in the lifestyle. I'd like to see this phenomonon spread. The gay and lesbian communities have their symbols to distinguish themselves without having to announce to the world that they are gay/lesbian. With most people's desire for discretion within the lifestyle, an outward symbol would not only save alot of question, but could potentially save some embarrassment as well. When people ask me what mine means, I try to answer according to how the question was asked. If someone asks me pointedly what it means I tell them "Good Luck", which is true. If someone asks me about it that has that "Does that mean what I think it means?" look, I tell them it's a swinger's symbol. LOL The following quote is from the profile of the couple that started the wishbone thing in SC....."For as long as the swinging lifestyle has been around, there has not been a symbol to associate swingers with. Other alternative lifestyles have developed a symbol that represents them; the gay and lesbian community has the rainbow, the BDSM have their converted ying yang symbol; now the swingers have the wishbone. The wishbone represents many aspects of the swinging lifestyle. The closed end represents two halves coming together as one. For a swinger knows, it takes much trust and compromise to make the lifestyle work. The open end represents the open-mindedness and open sexuality of the lifestyle. And, let's face it, the entire wishbone reminds us that we live a lifestyle that many people only wish for. To the ordinary person, the wishbone is just a typical piece of jewelry. But, to those in the lifestyle, the wishbone identifies you as someone in the lifestyle." In this area, people are fairly familiar with the wishbone as a lifestyle symbol and we can immediately identify couples or singles within the lifestyle. My primary profile pic shows me wearing my wishbone necklace. I'd like to see this symbol adopted as a standard for all people within the lifestyle...Any thoughts?

Habits: Vanilla or Not? - How to tell the difference? -
We went to Habits last night because multiple people have mentioned that it's a place that Utah lifestylers like to frequent. As we expected, it was generally difficult to tell the difference between lifestylers and vanillas (though we did recognize a few people from various events). We have no interest in offending a vanilla by making undesired advances. Nor are we looking to flip vanillas. That's just not our thing. We're really only interested in meeting stable couples that have experience in the lifestyle. So the obvious question is, what tricks do people have for differentiating lifestylers from vanillas at Habits?
This has been asked here many times before... here's what it boiled down to: 1) You can't tell by looking. 2) If you really want to know, you'll have to ask them. 3) Despite the fact that maybe 5% to 10% of the people there are swingers on any given weekend, it's not a swinger club, so if you're trying to meet swingers, it's very inefficient. Sorry.. wish there was a better answer.

It's an age, old, question. - No, I'm NOT 94.... - We respect others opinions on age preference. For us we certainly admire the looks of younger swingers but we prefer those with a little more maturity. We don't want to get naked with people our kids age, just our preference. Thats the great thing about about being in the lifestyle, you get to meet those that fit your preference and walk away if it's less than what you thought.
