Based on data I've collected from hosting events, and from building the Swingular mobile app (BlackRingMobile.com), I can tell you that Swingular has roughly 500 couples who are active in the lifestyle at any given time (and trust me, anyone who's actively swinging has an account here).
Some studies indicate that as much as 4% of married adults are non-monogamous. That doesn't mean they swing, it simply means they have (at some point in their marriage) agreed that it would be okay to have sex outside of their marriage on at least one occasion. This number seems pretty high to me, especially in Utah. (Bordering on ridiculous, actually).
So somewhere between these two numbers is the truth... 500 couples in Utah have a Swingular account, and by some (very liberal) estimations, as many as 35,000 couples in Utah are non-monogamous.
Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that there are 3,000 couples in Utah who are actively interested in swinging. (Again, I have SERIOUS doubts that the number is that high, based on data I've collected from Swingular... but let's roll with it)... There are 886,000 couples in Utah, which means there's a 0.33% chance (1 in 300) that the couple you're looking at are swingers.
However, if the number of ACTIVE swinging couples in Utah is closer to 1,000 (far more likely), the odds go down to 0.11% (1 in 1,000). This is probably a more realistic picture of your odds when you try to pick up a random couple in the wild.
1 in a thousand isn't out of the question..... but unless you're prepared to be very blunt, it's probably not worth wasting your time on, either.

Discretion a Must?!? - Let us know - I've always wondered why people won't post face pics on sites like this.. If your boss minister, cousin, neighbor sees you they are there for the same reason. If you are worried that there is someone that is not a friend might do with pics found on a site like this restrict the viewing of them. I'd love for a neighbor or "city official" recognize me.... I've got nothing they can hurt me with but they could be hurt if they were nasty.. Look at the positive side... you may find out that the couple up the street that you've been lusting after for 5 years are swingers and you'be been close friends for all that time....
Swinging clubs/locations - - We went out last night. Button Down was full of Chads and Bros and the dance floor was small and uncomfortably crowded. No swingers in sight—just a bunch of kids (seriously, I felt really old there at 36). We bailed at about midnight and went to Moose Lounge and it looks completely closed down forever (**EDIT**: Moose Lounge is still open, it was just apparently either closed or just REALLY dead that night). We were very sad and went back to the hotel for our own after party by ourselves (which went very well for the record). We really liked Friday night moose lounge in the past, I hope something like that starts up again.

but I am beyond pissed right now and I feel the need to vent... so here goes.
Why do single males have a hard time?
On another swingers site, a section of our profile states..

There's nothing worse then having a message pop up on the screen
that says "YOUR WIFE HAS GREAT TITS ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A HUNG SINGLE MALE?"
While showing off your vacation pictures to visiting relatives, friends, etc."
So what happens.... a message just like that pops up.
I type back and say "Why would you send a message like that?"
"Do you have any clue who is looking at this computer screen right now?"
I get back...
"I'm on [swinger site name] and I like your pics... do you want to meet?"
I point out where it states being discreet on the IM and I add
"What the hell is wrong with you sending messages like that?"
Here's what I get back....
"WELL YOU'RE THE ONE LETTING STRANGE GUYS FUCK YOUR WIFE"
Now we've played with many single guys... and I know that many many many
are really nice and intelligent and mature.... but this one really set you all back
several notches.... It just isn't worth it when I'm clued in to the mind set that
exists among a percentage of you.
This one time at Swingers Camp - Discussion about N by N camp out - Wanted to also say thank you to everyone for an "Awesome Birthday" on Saturday. I am one lucky girl to have so many wonderful friends. Thank you WWD for the birthday cake....yummy. We had such a good time.
