The attitude is that swinging is not a good thing that swinging is diametrically opposed to poly. So while there are some similarities in swinging and poly in that more and more swingers are looking for relationships, i.e., "friends with benefits" ; "Friends in and out of the bedroom". These friendships are based on attraction and sex after the attraction. Poly people take the concept that poly is based on loving someone and if sex happens then OK, but that love is the key and sex is at best secondary. I would say that swinging (full swap, soft swap) IS recreational sex. It ISN'T about falling in love with someone. That poly people would think swinging is bad because it is diametrically opposed to poly doesn't surprise me one bit. Kinda like me being a Grand Dragon of the KKK thinking that people who even can think of having a relationship with a black person are sick in the head. To a poly person, the only difference between them and a "normal" person is that they have more than one person with whom they have love in the relationship. "Normal" people also think spouse swapping is a bad idea too. Again, no surprise. I would say that swinging and poly have only one similarity and that is that they are having sex with somebody that they are not legally married to and the spouse is fine with it. Beyond that, I don't see the similarities.

Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - Hello All, I would like to put down some of my (KinkyJoker) thoughts on this thread and some of the posts here. I fully agree with the post & poem from SNS2N1. Memorial day is not my day, it is the day that I thank my Brothers & Sisters that have given their all. I would also like to point out that while most believe that a Military member is willing to give their life for thier family, the fact is that they are willing to give that life for their comrads. I have yet to ever hear of a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine that was thinking of home when they jumped on a Granade/pushed their buddy out of the line of fire/rushed a bunker full of automatic weapons/willing ran in to a hail of bullets to grab a wounded buddy, they were all thinking of saving the life or lives of their buddies. For them, I feel both the swelling and crushing of my heart at the rememberance of their deeds. Also, as stated by SNS2N1, the day for me as a Vet is Nov. 11th. I feel extra blessed because my birthday is the day before, Nov. 10th. Now while this is not the day I was physically brought into this world, it is the day of my birth into something that I will be until I leave this mortal plane. A Marine. However, to be fair, I am a Former Marine, and much to the shame of my best friends, I am now currently in the US Army Reserve. I fully thank the powers that be, that both of my best friends made it through Operation Iraqi Freedom unharmed, as well as the entire roster of my old unit. Now, on to Don Juan. Yes, I am willing to defend his right to show just how big of a self-centered, puesdo-intellectual, narrow minded little piss-ant that he is. Because of what he said I will not say that he must be a member of the Demorcrats (Sorry, Extreamly Liberal Republican here), nor will I make guesses at his orignal place of birth. However, I think that it is much further away then Great Britain, as in not from this planet. While I agree with the Chief, Sgt & Spc Cole, and RED64ANDME on what we should do with him, I have to point out that in order to truly fulfill our oaths, we need the politicians to state that he is a domestic enemy. That way when we stomp a Mudhole in his ass, we are not violating his rights. Now if you really want to do something to him, just pray that karma will come to him or that life will change to where stupidity really is painful, if not deadly. The problem with Mormon women (and men!) is that if they're strict, by-the-book Mormons, they were virgins (we were!) when they got married and know little to nothing about sex and how to pleasure the human body (including their own!). It took us a LONG time to figure out sex and THEN, once we started swinging, to realize that there is a big wide world of sexual experiences and techniques and that no single act, 'move', or technique is universally preferred or desired by everyone. Having said that, probably the vast majority of swingers we've encountered in Utah are or were Mormons and you have to decide, especially if they're new and/or you're trying to convert them, if you're kind of willing to be mentors (for lack of a better term) and/or just be very very patient and sort of go back to the basics or at least to whatever level that they're at. It's really quite sad since we've known SO many Mormons who strictly followed their law of chastity only to find, after they were married, that they weren't at all sexually compatible.
