Another Swingers Show on TV - - This September, Discovery Fit & Health delves into a mysterious and daring world in its all-new series, SECRET SEX LIVES: SWINGERS, which follows five all-American couples as they juggle marriage, family commitments and careers. But behind closed doors, these husbands and wives share one surprising thing in common: they all lead double lives as swingers. SECRET SEX LIVES: SWINGERS premieres Saturday, September 7 at 10PM (ET/PT) on Discovery Fit & Health. Nice! If there are enough of these maybe eventually our lifestyle will become normalized. Church Swingers, are they out there? - - I myself, believe that things such as religion (or spiritualality if you prefer) and sexuallity are a personal thing. I think the comments made by SHRED sum it up rather nicely. Having studied religion for 12 years in the catholic school system it seems that most of the organized religions I have any knowledge of, have lost the real point made in the New Testament anyway. It seems often that what is being preached is not what is being practiced or in some cases things have been taken out of context to stress some point of faith or morallity in a distorted way. I personally can not believe that God would want us to live our lives this way. I have to agree with those who say "live and let live" or "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". That seems to be the message I got out of all that religious instruction, but not necessarily what I saw being practiced. To those who feel they can balance religious practice with this lifestyle, I would say do so if it works for you. It is your personal choice. and thats the way it should be. Enough about religion from me, Mr. Lusty

Breaking the 4th wall - meeting a swinger in a vanilla situation. -
Basically my e-mail was: "Hi, I'm James, the male half of Blueidkat, I work as a sales rep for a national beverage company and consequently call on a lot of retail locations along the Wasatch Front. The other day I was at Blah business in Blah City and noticed someone who looks a lot like you. I know with all the swingers in Utah I must bump into some, everyday, and not realize it. It was so cool to possibly recognize a lifestyler out there in the vanilla world and just wondered if I was right." I understand the whole fear of being stalked and the need for anonimity but are we that afraid? Do we need to be?
Hey Blue, I know you guys didn't mean anything sinister! But yeah, that'd give me a bit of the creeps. If others read this, I'm sure they'll pipe in with some righteous opinions about how right you are and golly we all need to be proud of ourselves and such because of your statement/question, "I understand the whole fear of being stalked and the need for anonimity but are we that afraid? Do we need to be?" Hopefully few others will read this so we'll not start the whole "Having pics in the profile or not" argument again! :) To answer the question/statement you articulate above, yes, some folks do need anonymity. There are those folks that have a license for their job issued by County or State governments. Obtaining that license is considered a privilege, just like a drivers' license. No, the government can't search you or do medical tests on you against your will -- unless you want to drive. Then you acquiesce to their demands because you want that license. No, the government can't fire someone for perceived violation of a "morality clause" found in a licensing application. They can, however, deny or publicly harass a person about a license. Without that license many folks lose their job. Not good. So for some folks anonymity is not a matter of guilt or shame, but actually becomes a necessity to protect against a threat to their families livelihood. For me, I'm not paranoid or anything but I see absolutely no reason to expose myself unnecessarily. If someone I've met and actually KNOW approaches me away from the swinging scene, I'm totally fine with it, but an anonymous letter from someone I've never even met would bother me.

Black Ring, Right Hand - How to tell if someone's a swinger -
The thing is, even though people in the vanilla world may know about something like black rings on the right hand, they probably won't notice it, especially with all the people wearing multiple rings nowadays. Most people just aren't all that observant. On the other hand, swingers who know about it will probably look for them. And if someone who doesn't also have one on asks you what's with the black ring, you can just say,"I like it." And if they then say "Did you know that it can mean ....?", you can say something like "Why do you think that?", or "Where'd you hear that?", which can lead to them saying they swing, or let you get out of the conversation without admitting anything yourself.~ Terry
That may be true up to a point but think about what other cues you see when you see an attractive couple and wonder if they're swingers. Dress a little sexier than normal, act a little flirtier or maybe dance a little dirtier (if they're at a club), are constantly looking around checking out other people. That doesn't happen in the vanilla world. Most guys would at very least get an elbow to the gut if their lady caught them openly checking out an attractive girl. In swinging, the lady will often check out the attractive girl right along with her husband. I still think that the majority of swingers wouldn't wear the rings even if they became "a thing". As someone mentioned this isn't a new concept. People have been talking about ways to make it easier to identify other swingers when out and about almost since the day we started swinging decades ago. On another swing site we're on they even made a mobile app that people could put on their smart phones that would alert them if another swinger was nearby and also had the app turned on. If the app showed (by GPS) another swinger near you you could send them a text. It was a colossal failure to say the least. I know there are definitely a small percentage of swingers who would wear black rings and/or use an app but the majority would likely not due to fear of discovery. Why do you think many or most profiles have face pics only in the locked sections and mention discretion so ubiquitously? Especially here in Utah where the prevailing religion has such strict morality codes, many people would rightly be afraid of losing their jobs and social standing if discovered. JMO
