Swingers gone bad?? - - Still agree what was done is a wrong but I was just thinking of an old movie, "The Summer of '42" and can't remember any public outcry about a movie showing some young boy being mentally scared by an older lady. (Great movie BTW - nominated for over a dozen awards and winning two. It also allowed for a great standing joke as a teen saying "I'm bringing the marshmallows - what are you bringing? See the movie for the answer - good training for swingers) Maybe I'm wrong but I wonder who needed the drinks to do this more - the teens or the adults. Still wrong and I know for sure I have a major double standard because I wouldn't feel the same if this was a 15 year old girl. Could be because I'm a guy and have daughters. I find it hard to understand the "why" of doing it with the risk. I also doubt any young teen would have that much to offer (I do remember a bit from those days and can say for sure my best performance did not occur in the back seat of my parents car!)

Vegas - - We're going April 9th-11th. Don't know what is and isn't open but we're hoping to find a room at The Sands or The Landmark or maybe The Dunes. We also plan on checking out the Liberace and Elvis museums and hitting that tiger magic show and FINALLY seeing either Wayne Newton or Frank Sinatra in person. I grew up in utah brighamcity.. then i moved to live with other relatives in eden (above ogden for those who dont know).... we lived on a dairy farm and were a close family... yes LDS.. not to mix or go pro or con... but that was how it is.... to the point.. I am in search of the siblings i grew up with... they may or may not still live in utah... probably ogden.. clearfield area.... to my knowledge not swingers but i havent seen them or had contact for about 25 years....So who knows... but the main point there is enuf peeps from the northern utah on this site someone will know them if they are still in the area... wether it be friends, co workers or in the same ward. question is are we going to be crucified for mentioning their names on here (even tho its not sexually related) as a attempt to locate them? Finding Connections - Do the majority of swingers wait to be approached? - The connections we have mainly made have been though partys we have found here. Other than that it's hit and miss with searching and sending messages and friend request, (please at least send a message if you are sending a friend request).
That has been our limited experience. We would love to know how to make more connections, if anyone has any suggestions.

Swinging/Polyamory - I just wanted to hear other people thoughs on this....... - We think the problem is that people see the equation "sex = love". IOW, if I have sex with you, I must love you. Therefore polyamory and swinging are the same. After all, if I don't love you, I won't be having sex with you.
The way I see it, swinging is like a game of golf or tennis. I might play a game with you but I don't love you. Similarly, I might have sex with you but I don't love you.
Poly, IMO, is basically having a relationship with that other person and sex is involved on some level. Kinda like "I'm in love with you and oh, BTW, lets make love"
The way we see it, swinging is about exchanging sexual partners for recreation sex. In an orgy situation at a party, you can have sex with that person with zero words exchanged. In a poly relationship, there is a real connection going on besides just sex. Sex becomes incidental just like it is with married couples.
With swinging, there is no emotional attachment. Is that a good thing? Well, it depends. We need to understand the very simple nature of things. We do this to avoid that. That is human nature. Many swingers DON'T want emotional attachments and avoid them because of the complications they cause in the first one. Are there benefits to the attachments? You bet. Is there a price to pay for that benefit? But of course. Is it worth it to you? That depends on your viewpoint.
In our life as a couple, the problems poly cause BASED ON OUR OPINION (your's may vary and no right and wrong here) do not outweigh the payoff. IOW, we don't think the benefits of a poly relationship are worth the problems it creates based on our opinion. YMMV
