Combining Lifestyle & Non-Lifestyle Friends - - We have both Swinger and non-swinger friends. We have found a few "swinger" friends that we would be "friends" with if we were not in the lifestyle. We have tried to invite these friends to parties that we have SPECIFICALLY specified as "VANILLA". Almost every time we have had our "swinger" friends cross boundaries which makes our "non-swinger" friends (who have non idea about our "lifestyle") go "WTF?!?!?!?!?!?". Friends with out benefits? - Is it possible to find friends on here who dont want to fuck? - Actually this isn't that uncommon. We've been in the scene for a long time and have seen a lot of couples leave and then try to return and hang around the scene without actively participating because they like the thrill and excitement as well as hanging out with people who don't have a lot of hang ups and they don't have to censor themselves around. Unfortunately, in our experience, it hasn't seemed to work out too well in the long run. Not sure why, exactly. Maybe the real swingers don't want to hang out with people they can't potentially fuck or maybe the former swingers (or at least one of the couple) gets excited again and tempted to want to swing again or maybe it's some different reason altogether. Wish I could tell you how someone has made it work but it just doesn't seem sustainable. It's kind of like a motorcycle group I belong to. There was a guy who would show up at all of our meetings, hang out, talk about bikes, etc., but he didn't actually ride or even own a bike. Finally he stopped showing up because he found it harder and harder to engage the other guys in the group who actually ride. If you figure out a way to do it let me know. We still know a few couples who would love to hang out with swingers without actually swinging.

Our 16 & 17 year old are not too happy now that they know we are swingers but the almighty buck ruled. Tired of Politics and Religion! - - Strange - was this forum not here when those that object to it joined? Having been on this site for a long time (first as MelbCpl and now as Swingtide) as far as I can remember it has always had one area that was open to discussion of things like religion and politics. Sometimes we read them and sometimes we ignore them - choice is good. At least to us Swingular is not just a "sex site" but a swinging lifestyle site and for some of us that is more than how many notches you put on your bed during the last party. If anyone wants the other topics to show up more in opening page than make more input into the other areas of the forum. Start new topics in other areas and work to keep them going.
Everyone has their own view of what swinging is all about and that is good - I'd hate to think we had to pass some checklist of qualifications to consider ourselves swingers. The site has room for all types of discussion so enjoy the areas you like and avoid the ones you don't like - not too far off from how most of us deal with what couple we want to be with!
