Polyamory - Please share your thoughts.... - My wife and I have been poly for almost 4 years now. We've learned that poly is a REALLY broad topic, and there are as many ways to "do" poly as there are grains of sand on the beach. We've met some awesome people. We've met some folks whose relationships resemble train wrecks. It's not right for everyone, but it's a viable option for certain people. My perception is that there isn't always a big difference between poly and swinging. I've met swingers that talk bad about poly but REQUIRE some sort of commonality and friendship before sex, and I've found poly people that badmouth swingers but use "poly" as an excuse to fuck anyone they want to. That's my perception. Can I have sex with someone I don't know but feel attracted to? Yes! Do I prefer intimacy with someone I feel a deeper emotional connection to? Sure! But that's just me and my wants/needs/desires. We're all different.

I think there are ethical issues that always need to be addressed if your going to last long in the lifestyle. #1 Don't break rules you and your significant other set up between one another, and always communicate. #2 If it isn't a gift to one another, then maybe you need to reevaluate why your doing it. #3 If your looking at it as an escape, then you maybe doing harm to your partner or another persons marriage. #4 If your single and looking for a long term mate, then don't covet some other persons spouse, no matter what they may say or do. If he/she is falling for you, then do the ethically thing and break it off. It just causes harm to everyone involved in those situations, and don't think for a minute that you won't suffer long term ramifications from that type of situation. Swingers dying out? - Is the utah swinger community dying or becoming to needy? - We really hope it's just time for that new group to go wild. We love those a list couples like everyone else but we love feeling like the a list couple too lol but all these older couples 60-90 keep trying to add us and the younger ones won't even reply hi or anything and don't even get me started on the females it's like we are the plague up in here we just want to have some real fun we are planning on getting a few motels/hotels this summer and hope more people want to play and we are moving to west south salt lake valley area and hope to throw some crazy parties there too. New Swingers Club in Utah - Gauging interest in new club - Davidandmarie, I don't think it is a legal issue, I think it is more of an issue of not knowing for certain if the concept would fly and have enough attendance to justify the massive expense in opening one up. I may decide to do it if it looks like it will be well-attended. Fishinginutah, You have some great ideas and we are going to need to chat more! Herwoody801, A dance floor is something we were planning, but we would want it in a separate area so there were still areas where people could chat without loud thumping music in their ears. Wildfire, Being super private, discreet, and extremely safe is something that would be our top priority. We have no desire to have our sexuality on display for the rest of the world either. I am considering making it a private club, which it would probably have to be for legal purposes, and we would have to create some kind of vetting process where you can only become a member if you know a member who can vouch for you, type of thing. That way we can make sure that everyone who is showing up is someone who is either part of the lifestyle already or seriously considering to be part of it. The last thing we want is to have "outsiders" coming just to gawk and potentially cause problems. Additionally, cameras and cell phones would have to be left upon entrance so there would be no risk of cameras on site that could compromise the privacy of the guests. Everyone believes that they have led a good life and have avoided the contraction of an STD. I would like to be able to accept that fact in good faith, but there is no way I can allow myself to think in such a naiive manner. There are even those in this world who would KNOWINGLY pass a deadly disease such as AIDS to another person out of pure spite that they themselves have contracted it. There are risks with oral sex as well, but the probability of contracting anything serious is atleast somewhat less then through vaginal intercourse. I just cant see it. It amazes me.
