Creating an Amazing Swingers Profile - How to market yourself better - Then we are fake! We are only verified as real..... Maybe we missed a punctuation mark. Fitting to most that the squawkers are the ones that never go to parties or events and never tend to mingle with the Real peeps. Oh well, comment away

Mormons - -
We are probably one of the few “real” ones on here. It’s hard to be one in this lifestyle especially here in Utah. Those that are in the lifestyle have issues with “Mormons”. We get judged by both those in and those not.
For the record, I would NEVER judge anyone for being Mormon and in the lifestyle. Been there, done that and know PLENTY of others who have as well. *edit: I should clarify that I meant WE were technically Mormons...but inactive, when we started swinging and we've met MANY active and inactive Mormons who were swingers over the years* LOL But I WOULD have a bit of an issue if you showed up to play with your garments on. But I guarantee that there are also plenty of people who would probably get off on it if you did. [em]Emo_49[/em]

Extramarital Affairs and the Lifestyle - Where do you stand? - ok Diver here goes, well at least you admit your a married cheater and not a true single although i believe your profile was a couple (my fault) so that is a plus in your behalf. but please consider this; You start talking with a couple, they agree to meet , you all get together and things seem to go very well you all end up having a great time. You get dressed and proceed to leave the room, home whatever. As you leave your wife her brother and half your neighborhood is waiting at your car for you to label you a cheater. No problem you say ok then the couple that was willing to share their time and sex with you ends up being supeaned into court for \"allienation of affection\" their kids wonder why no one talks to mommy and daddy any more,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, see its not only you that you are putting in jeapordy but all of us that dont know what is really behind the profile, and please understand we arent bashing you at all to each their own but can you see where it falls on more than just your shoulders? Now that scenario which is about as far out as it can get seems like neverland to you but what about the real swingers your putting in that position. We ourselves have played seperate at very certain times with very selected people we know and know very well and will not be put in that sort of circumstances because as we all know the wrath of a lover scorned is second to none. ok off the soapbox

Where on Earth are all the hot Virginia Swingers? - Show us what you have to offer VA!!! - here is one for you...

How to identify yourself as a Swinger - - Yes, the black ring has been around for decades. Along with white rocks in your yard, flamingos, upside down pineapples, etc. I'm sure these things were helpful and even needed before the age of the internet. Nowadays, there are so many ways to contact and meet people, I can't imagine the need to randomly bump into to other swingers. In fact, the black ring is so well known, that that is the reason I DON'T wear one. I knew about it about 18 years ago, well before I ever considered swinging. So, it's useless for two reasons. 1. Not enough swingers use it to be of much use. 2. Too many non swingers know about it to be very practical. But with the sites and parties and events, there really isn't much need for it anyway. I'm glad I started all this recently with the internet to use. I really would have hated wearing black rings and putting white rocks and flamingos in my yard and upside down pineapples in my window. :p

Favorite bars in utah - - Yes, I read the article. Our experience (getting close to 30 years in the swinging trenches) has shown that the authorities almost invariably use other (easier to prosecute) issues to shut down naughty things like swinging parties. Recently in Texas they're trying to use zoning ordinances and disturbing the peace and, believe it or not, parking ordinances. Quite often it's alcohol related. Not too many years ago with a local, fairly prominent swinger who held frequent parties in his upscale neighborhood they nailed him for providing alcohol to minors (apparently one girl at one of his parties was not yet 21). And I would ague that Las Vegas is anything but tolerant for swingers parties or really anything related to sex. They love to sell the idea of sex but when the rubber meets the road they are as intolerant as anywhere we've been. I don't remember the last hotel takeover we attended in Vegas where a topless pool wasn't promised and then shut down by the local authorities. Of course the big money hotels have absolutely no problem providing topless pools...if they can charge a hefty premium to do so. Vegas is all sizzle and no steak (in the vernacular of my grandfather).

That little nudge many of us need - -

There are plenty of people on Swingular, ourselves included, who strongly prefer to meet and get to know people a bit (sometimes over weeks or even months) before any kind of 'sexy time' happens. In fact, for us at least, we're happy just to hang out and be friends even if sex NEVER happens. There are also avowed demi-sexuals here who absolutely need some kind of emotional connection (and no, it doesn't necessarily have to be romantic or love or anything beyond friendship) before they can feel sexual attraction to other people. Perhaps your wife is more oriented in that direction. Beyond that, maybe it would be more above-board to just hang out with vanillas and see if you can slowly evolve your friendship towards something more sexual. Just a thought.
We have friendships with vanilla couples who we think are smoking hot and wish they were in the lifestyle. lol. Perhaps this is a question for another forum thread. But, how does one broach the subject with a vanilla couple who are friends? Does anyone have any success stories of how you converted a vanilla couple friendship to the lifestyle? We would be afraid about outing ourselves or maybe even losing a friendship.
Personally, we think the best way to broach that subject with vanillas is to just, at some point in the friendship, put it out there that you're swingers and then let the other couple process, digest, and come to terms with that information and do with it what they will. We feel like there are FAR too many swingers who enjoy 'vanilla hunting' and use unfair tactics (alcohol, late nights, etc.), if not outright subterfuge, to try to 'convert' them as, I guess, some kind of power trip. If you let people have the space to come to a rational, informed decision on their own there is, IMO, FAR less chance for drama (or WORSE!) as a sequela.

Obama's Roadtrip - -
Fair enough. Then why rely on them for anything that likely wasn't adequately studied?
Likely just does not do it for me...When the numbers are given AND shown how they were gathered, I tend to believe they are fairly accurate.
Let's take your Pepsi/Coke example. There is likely nothing befuddling about your scenario. Just one possibility: Where are the two Florida products bottled? Maybe it's the water.
Both bottled locally, it is chalked up to being a preferance thing. In WI, lived there for a while, it was called pop or soda, unless a VERY specific thing was needed, a Mountain Dew for instance. In the south, it is a Coke no matter what it is. If someone in the south offers a Coke, it could be Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Rite, Sam's Club Soda, etc.
I'm glad you agree with the logic. My Bachelor's is in Social Welfare (Psych Minor). Human nature is only a bitch of a thing when you get out there a few standard deviations. The bulk of us are as predictable as rats.
Believe it or not, I have 2 BA's (econ and int. rel.) with a minor in social work. So I am very aware of social science standards and SOME believe that we're predictable. If you have a smaller sample, we are fairly predictable, especially when the sample is taken from a specific group of people (swingers for instance, better yet, swingers in a specific region), once you get to the larger populations (nationwide for instance), human behavior is not easily quantified. Try being the ONLY conservative in all the social work classes, it was fun! Then again, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I propose that as an economist you are simply looking at things with a limited perspective.
Possibly, but I also have a rare ability to look at it from an outsider's view....
There is simply no question that if a person's basic needs (food and shelter) are met, there is less motivation to risk the consequences of violating societal rules.
I can see the logic of this, however, we are Americans, we always want MORE, we are constantly bombarded with images of MORE, we are constantly told that without MORE we are incomplete, etc. What are the consequences of violating societal rules? Food, shelter, clothing, TV, etc? Really tough there. Look at prisons in Mexico, if your family does not provide, you starve, more than likely. THAT is consequences, it is a deterrant (sp?). IMHO, one of the reasons for our increased crime rates is the lack of public punishment. If every time you turned around, you saw a group of people in black and white stripes mowing lawns, trimming trees, etc. on the side of the road in leg chains, it would cut crime considerably. If they did public executions, it would cut crime dramatically. Then again, I am a staunch supporter of heavy penalties for crimes, especially when they are repeat offenders, most of the social scientists are not. They want more rehab and such, which I also support, BUT only for first timers, not for repeat offenders. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying our debate... Next!
