Scuba in Ventura California - Scuba Divers like it wet and deep. - I am a scuba diver spending my birthday diving Anacapa and Santa Rosa off California. I will be there the night of April 10th and leaving Sunday morning the 13th. Or maybe it's just a more specific comment about the topic. While I can't argue with limiting single men, simply because of numbers if there was no limit many things would have a population of maybe as much as 75% single guys, and neither they or many of the other attendees would have a great chance of hooking up. But I don't think they should be strictly forbidden. If nothing else, because of my wife's night time working schedules, I often end up being one of those single guys, and I nearly ended up sitting home alone for both last Christmas and last New Years Eves. And it's a special aggravation when looking at the RSVPs for some "no single men" party or event that is happening on a night when my wife has to work, and I see in those RSVPs some lady who I know would be VERY happy to see me there. A better policy, I think would be to limit the number of single men on a sort of sliding scale. State in the event or party description, for instance, that single men can request to come, and will be kept on a list. Then, at some specific date before the party/event, the hosts will look at how many couples and/or single women are coming, and decide on allowing some appropriate number of single guys, who will be selected from that list based on first signed up, first invited. I also have a problem with selecting attendees based on some of the standard criteria, such as age and even weight. Like with the "no single men" thing, I do have a personal interest here. Even though I do just fine at parties/events, if the hosts were screening for age I'd probably never get in the door. Hell, I'm finally 65 now, and am all too aware of all the assumptions many people make about anyone that old. And I imagine that if they got past the age and looked at our profile pics, they'd probably be certain that my pics are like 20 years old, if not older. (Actually, I admit that one of them IS a bit over a year old now.) And if they notice that my wife's 24 years younger, they probably figure she must have been either crazy or desperate. And I've met some ladies in their early to mid 20s who are just as much fun to be with, and I don't mean just physically, as those in, say, their late 30s or older. So yeah, I have a big problem with eliminating prospective attendees based on what age group they're in. OK, you probably wouldn't want to end up with something like 85% people from 20 to 35 and 15% over 55 (or the reverse), but just plain ignoring all people in some certain age group, or level of fitness group, or whatever is, I think, just plain ridiculous. Friend collectors or swingers - - Perhaps this has already been mentioned but many friendship request are so people can perv your pics...hoping for something more. The locked pics require granting a friend request. This probably is why people get so many blind friend request. The best part is when you get a blind friend request from someone with no pics...hmmmm I wonder what they are thinking. We ignore most blind friend request, we block single male (no offense, we are not interested) and we always write before a friend request.

Swing Camp (7/15 - 7/17) - Swingers Campout in Birch Creek Idaho - We also are planning for the NxN campout and have to do extra hours. Sounds like a lot of fun, maybe next year *hopefully*

Wannabes and net fakes - Will the real lifestyle members please stand up - Plenty of "real" swingers get labeled as fakes every day. Plenty of fake swingers, get mistaken for "real" ones just as often. That phrase should not be subjective to whether or not someone stood you up, faked a profile, or used old pics, just to name a few negative things. Those people are simply assholes. Even if they fancy themselves swingers. It has happened to us on many occassions that someone has claimed to have seen one of her pics either in a mag, or on a paid porn site, which automatically makes us "fakes". We have been labled as "fakes" based on the fact that we choose not to (primarily) meet with couples, thus we must be fake. We have been accused of being "fakes" because we are selective about with whom we meet, and even more selective about with whom we play. NO fakes here. Just smart people who know what we are looking for. People who have an axe to grind are typically the first to call out "fakes" on sites like these. I may not have the benefit of 25 years of swinging to support that supposition, but it is what is obvious to me. I am sure that there are a great many "fakes" out there who are only interested in wasting other peoples time with their bullshit, and believe me when I say that we have met one or two over the years...but I wouldnt automatically brand someone a "fake" based on the fact that they didnt show up for a meeting. (That is not to say that we would excuse that behavior, because if someone stands us up they had better be dead or we are done with them for good.) But who knows..maybe they just got cold feet? Maybe they really DID get a flat tire on the way to see you....shit happens. Luvbugs! (mR.) :p

Lake Powell Trip June 11-14 (Last Topic got deleted somehow) - - OK,, not sure where the Announcement went but lets do this again.... Every year, we put on a Lake Powell trip. In previous years, it has been a mixed crowd,, swingers and vanillas. This year we are going to change it up and add a trip in June that is Lifestylers only. Dates for this are June 11-14. We are still doing the August trip as well, but it will be a bit tamer than the June trip. Houseboats will be availible for those that want to go. The cost last year for the houseboats worked out to be around $800 for the 4 days per couple. This included fuel. With decreased fuel prices this year, it should be a bit less. If we get enough people to warrant it, and if I can talk the pig supplier to provide pigs twice in one year (Yes, Buttabing, this is directed towards you) we will do a luau pig on Saturday night. Last year, some people tent camped as well so staying on a houseboat is not a requirement. As a courtesy though to those that are renting the houseboats, if you do use the amenities of the houseboat such as bathrooms, showers, cooking and kitchen stuff, etc... you donate to whoever rented the boat. Having a boat is not a requirement. Those that do have them don't seem to have a problem "adopting" those that don't. A bunch of peeps from this site went last year and from what we hear, everyone had a good time. I will need commitments from those that want to go no later than March 29th so I can ensure that I tie up enough houseboats for those that want them.

South Florida Mar.23-Apr.5 - - John (Tech). Platos has been out of business as a swingers club for about 6 or 7 years. Trapeze is the biggest and best club in the Ft. Lauderdale area.
