Swingers Next Door! - ABC news story on Swinging! - I've heard that the A&E show is just what I thought it'd be, the young & beautiful and tension emanating from the vanilla neighbors. Of the 3 things I expected, so far, apparently, there hasn't been a marriage destroyed by swinging, but I'd be surprised if that doesn't turn out to be part of this "reality" show. But after just 1 episode, it looks like I'm 2 out of 3.
I'm sorry, but I really think the show is an attempt, probably successful, to exploit something most people would find edgy and fascinating. I'd love to see a REAL reality show about swingers, but somehow I doubt that will ever happen because it wouldn't fit the "successful TV show" formula well enough. The closest I know of to an honest portrayal of things society thinks are taboo was that "real sex" series. And look how long that lasted. Certainly not long enough to have covered the many things that would have fit into the show's premise. If it was still running now there'd still be lots of things out there for new episodes. My suspicion is that while the title might have been, the actual shows just weren't sensational enough for it to be a long term success. ~ Terry
Why is it so hard for peole to answer their mail??? - - Not having the time is a poor excuse. All the sites we have used offer a "canned" reply that is polite and straight forward. All it it takes is a click of the mouse. Don't think I have ever received a nasty gram from a no thank you email. When we first placed ads on swinger sites years ago, most emails were answered. Now that the net is popular and used by more and more people I suspect the precentage of ads from true swingers is smaller. Divorce rates - How do we compare - We are a bit of an older couple with a different prospective. Amoung our swinging friends and aquaintances if we were to generalize it is that they are on a second marriage, have been married for 10 years or so and are very happy. Amoung our non-swinging friends they are on their first second, or third marriage and are generally unhappy. I would put the divorce rate amoung the non-swingers at more than double that of the swingers over a 10 year period.

As I said earlier, I am biting my tongue not screaming out who this person is...but as pointed out above, I would then be the one in trouble...so you ask why did I post this? No it was not to stir the pot or to cause drama (if I had outed them that would be causing drama)...of course I want good to come of this, I want people to realize that we as swingers have a bad rep as it is and we need to be aware that our behavior is seen by others and can affect everyone around us!
I have chosen a side...it's the side of being an adult and abiding by the guidelines that I agreed to when I signed up...I CAN NOT name the person...she knows who she is and she reads these forums and she will see that her behavior has disgusted many and hopefully she will act accordingly next time...the fact that you see me as bad as her...well that is your own opinion, but I know that I did the right thing here....
