Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - It seems the bad experiences with a few select single males has lead to such "hatred" in the lifestyle. We don't have an interest in playing with single males but we can say that for the most part they have been very respectful upon our reply. Someone mentioned Polyamory. Poly people, at least in most communities, feel that swinging and poly are not compatible.. Fact is, why not? If you are open and honest about your poly leanings and totally honest with your mate and any relationships you may have... then why not poly as well. I know that several people in here and on other sites, swingers feel threatened if you are overtly open abut your feelings. If one truely loves and trusts their partner/SO/wives; husbands/girlfriends; bopyfriends and whatever other relationships that I may have missed, they should not be threatened. If you fall in love with someone that you have sex with.... you have 2 choices..... Tell that person and their spouse and your spouce and see where it goes or simply walk away with the thoughts and get on with your life. The 3rd option is not an option.... If one is poly...thier primary relationship/s take precedence.

I don't think it is so much of trust and love that is necessary for a poly relationship. There are, in theory at least, benefits. OTOH, NILIF. So, you are going to add complications. Many marriages already are at risk or in divorce. So, it is difficult to handle one person. What about 3? Now, it is a very nice idea to say that whomever the wife plays with is whomever she plays with. However, the reality is that it will have some effect on me. Is it always so easy to divorce yourself from the situation? Yes, in theory, you can say that when you come home, the other people are out of your lives. In practice, it often has a way of creeping back in to the primary relationship.

Damn Utah couples! :) - - Its funny how the non-mormons and the jack-mormons form a type of "instant bond" when they find each other. Its kind of like a us vs. them mentality.
Swingers are very much the same way. The "Lifestyle" is like a little secret society. Although its becoming more mainstream, swinging isn't quite ready for primetime.

P.S. Here is a funny little story: I used to work with a guy in Utah who was a returned missionary. His wife and he used to get together with a bunch of other couples as part of a religious/social group. The number of couples grew to about 10. Eventually it became more social and less religious. It finally developed into a swingers group that was quite active.
Then there was some cheating and some jealousy and drama. Eventually it all fell apart and the couples scrambled back to the Church vowing never to return. Of course this exercise proved to everyone the power of their faith over the evils of sin. Too bad... apparently they had some hot couples in their group and a lot of hot sex happening.

I am not the one arguing. LOL! Spare me your personal remarks. You don't know me. Again, the article says that the city is trying to find anything they can to shut them down. That tells me that they are trying to find any excuse to shut them down. If parking were the only issue, the remedy would be simple. Park everyone remotely in a central location and VAN them in. I don't think it's the only issue. The only other issue is moral and where do morals come from???

What would it matter if there was a brothel or massage parlor in a neighborhood? Prostitution is wrong because Christians say it's wrong. In countries where Christianity isn't allowed to taint government, they have redlight districts. There is plenty of evidence in the article that points at the religious motivation.

How did you start the lifestyle? - - I started in college ... with a swinger couple who generously invited me into their relationship. It went off and on over the period of about a year. Then, I fell in love with a woman who was NOT into swinging ... and then another one after that.
