We feel the EXACT same way! At the Christmas party it took 25 to 30 min to get a drink. By the time you would work up a good buzz it was gone by the time you got another drink. The club is VERY dirty. If we\'re paying $20 a couple we should of had better sevice then that. This was the very first time we went to something like this and we were VERY disappointed and wont go back. Anyway, I know there is other couples out there that feel the same way.
Ok...I don\'t want to turn this Player\'s experience last night into a proverbial dead horse...but feel it very important that those that plan the Spice Party realize that the venue that they have selected is SERIOUSLY affecting or will affect the outcome and success of their parties...
We have all heard many rumors about the fact that the club has been having financial issues and gone through several ownerships over the past year, but you ARE A CLUB...providing a service to your customers...and guess who the customers are?!? US!!!
I\'m not gonna lecture on the basic tenets of what good customer service is, because anybody with half of a wit knows what they are...but when the customer\'s BASIC (not lofty by ANY stretch of the imagination) expectations are not being met...then guess what, you lose that customer base...right?
Allow me to list just a FEW of the basic expectations:
1) HEAT....yes...it\'s a new millenium, and believe it or not we do have such modern day miracles as HEATED public venues! Unforgivable when it\'s 12 degrees outside. Why was there no heat last night? Even the employees were complaining...sheesh!
2)A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT is always a plus. Walking into a club and having your feet stick to the dance floor, your elbows to the tables, watching the litter and garbage light up on the floor under the black ligh5ts...looking much like it does after a New Year\'s Eve party after the confetti has been released, is bad enough. To go into the bathroom, and have to stand five feet back from the urinal because it has overflowed due to something unidentifiable stuffed in it (I\'m not certain, but I believe it was at one time tp, or paper towels), at the beginning of the night...unforgivable again.
I mean come on...one would expect concert venues, or the zoo, or a gas station bathroom to be in that condition, but not a club...especially one that has a former history of being reputable. Speaking of zoo...the odor in the restroom certainly reminded me of several visits I\'ve had to the zoo. I can\'t decide if it made me more reminiscent of the monkey house, or the snake house.
Oh...and did I mention that there was no paper hygeine products in the bathroom at the beginning of the night? Men..for the most part can survive with no paper towels or TP...but for the ladies...it\'s essential, and yes...a basic expectation.
I discovered that there was nothing in the restrooms in terms of anything I could use to wipe down our tables...that were sooo filthy, I went the the bartender...and asked for a rag, which I used to wipe down not only our tables...but those of several other patrons of the business that had all noted their tables too, were filthy, sticky, and just damned gross.
3)ALCOHOL...hard to believe, but yes...THIS is a very important reason why my wife and I enjoy the club setting. We have not gone ONE FREAKIN\' TIME to Players...that they were not \"out of\" alcohol of some type. Guys...we\'re talking about BASIC stuff...Corona Beer in a bottle? Yeah...they started the night without corona! Last night....no draft beer?? NO FREAKIN\' DRAFT BEER????? Even the seediest, worst dive spots in UTAH have FREAKIN\' DRAFT ALL THE TIME???
4)SERVICE STAFF...what service staff? Bless the li\'l hearts of the ONE bartender and TWO servers that were there last night, they worked their hearts out..but this has become a predictable issue at this venue. There are approximately three bars in the club...ONE of which is all we\'ve ever seen open.
-Wait time on a phone call with the IRS: ONE HOUR.
-Wait time for a beer (bottled, not draft mind you) at Players: ONE HOUR (ok..maybe it was 57 minutes..56....?), and eternity when your \"buzzometer\" is clicking and winding down.
So...Magin & Mark, Robert & Jen, and all of those involved with the Spice Parties...PLEASE don\'t feel that I/We are coming down on the efforts you have put forth into the parties...or being too critical. I think you\'ve done a wonderful with the amount of effort you\'ve put into them, and with what you have envisioned the Spice Parties becoming. You MUST realize however, if no one wants to come to this venue...then your parties will definately suffer, and perhaps demise; something that quite frankly we don\'t want to see happen.
The owner/manager of players needs to step up to the plate...and manage his business....HIS BUSINESS! If you can\'t provide that basic expectations of customers...THEN SELL THE CLUB AND GET A JOB AT WALMART!!!!
Most customers don\'t have expectations when they shopt there....
Respectfuly....

If we may make a suggestion for a different venue. The sky bar in downtown slc, is a very relaxed club, booths, couches, tables, 2 bars open at all times, very prompt and sweet wait staff, great security and best of all they are available to be leased out for special events.
oh yeah, they have all the expected products in bathroom,(and they know how to use a mop)lol
n-y ways just an idea
