Silly question.... When you go to a house party and contribute some type of alcohol, do you take what's left with you? I've noticed some people do this, even write their names on the bottle, which I get if it's an expensive bottle. We've always gone into the situation of whatever we bring is for anyone that wants it without having to ask, and we leave whatever is still left over for the host. Maybe we are being rude of burdening the host with alcohol they don't like, but I feel like a cheapskate if a leave with the remaining 3 bottles of beer leftover.... what does every one else do? 😜
Personal preference. We leave it if it is the only one. If there are three bottles of fireball, we take it with us. Having hosted a few parties we are indifferent to people leaving or taking.

I would think it would matter a lot how the invite was worded. We have hosted a number of parties pretty regularly and always say BYOB and a snack to share. For us...the only real expectation is just that. Bring your own booze. It is yours, share if you like. Take it home, if you like. The problem with any other way is that there are always some who show with nothing. That, quickly turns into most bringing nothing, or something cheap, and drinking something better. Seems to just be the mentality that prevails.

We leave it. It's always a gift to bring something whether there is a lot of alcohol or not so when we host they hopefully reciprocate. Or if we go back for another party I know they have what I left behind. Bringing dishes of food is different.
Always leave it fer hell sakes it doesn’t feel right to take it some one opens up there place for me to enjoy my time! Who cares how much it cost What goes around comes around Sorry my opinion
