Does anyone every throw any smaller scale swinging parties with just 3 or 4 couples? We aren’t much for large gatherings or parties, but do love a social event that isn’t quite so overwhelming that there are a hundred couples where things can be a bit more intimate. If we had the space we would do it for sure, but unfortunately lack enough rooms for that.
We think it would be fun to have like a 4 couple party where each couple is some fun or nerdy idea, like separating into Hogwarts houses from Harry Potter such as “Gryffinwhore” and “Slytherinmyhole” or something haha.
Anyone else have a similar idea or throw any smaller gathering parties like that?

A smaller party sounds great. Could easily get a nice hotel or host. Definitely interested.
I have thrown a party/hosted a small gathering. I had my friend partner with me, then there were 3 other couples. It was fun. Everyone was able to hang out without the loud music of a bar. Having a theme or party idea seems to help as well. Hope this helps.

We love hosting parties. We have a hot tub, pool table, foosball, and bar at our house. If any of you are interested let us know.
One of the best ideas for a small party...besides the sexual part is to do group massage. Everyone gets a turn while the others do the massaging. Only draw back is men who are overly sensitive about massaging another man. A multi hand massage feels great and you already have your clothes off for other things after. Just make sure to get a massage oil that can wipe off easily. Being too slippery is never a good idea.

We’ve thought about hosting a small nakkid super bowl party with all the fun - except it would be nakkid, hot tub available & see where the party goes.
Everyone has to know each other and enjoy each other’s company for this to work. We have been to a small house party where we didn’t know anyone. We had to sneak out because it was uncomfortable (inevitably someone had too much to drink). We think it’s a great idea and sounds fun.
We also prefer smaller parties to bigger ones and have hosted a LOT over the years. We usually prefer to have more than 3 or 4 couples though as it's easier to not get painted into corners about who plays with whom with a slightly larger group of couples. We would say that the perfect number is maybe 6-8 couples.
As far as party ideas we've had some really fun ones in the past and really enjoy coming up with new ideas. Here are a few that we hosted that were very fun.
1) Offensive t-shirt party. Everyone was supposed to wear a t-shirt with something offensive but funny on it. They're easy to find and some simply made their own with iron-ons or with markers. Ms. Evil's t-shirt was the one in our profile about "What I Like About Coffee". Mine was something about 'amputee strippers' (can't remember exactly what it said now) We also, in going with that theme, played Strip Cards Against Humanity. It was REALLY a lot of fun. :-)
2) We had a "Back To School" party one year where instead of the old, tired, 'Hot Schoolgirl' outfits we had everyone wear what they would have worn or what they would have considered hot and sexy (or what would have violated their school dress code-lol) when THEY were in high school. It was really fun and we had sexy nerds, cheerleaders (of course), jocks in their..jocks! (lol) and, well, you get the picture. We had games including stuff like Spin the Bottle and "7 Minutes In Heaven" and things like that. Oh, and everyone was supposed to bring their fav snacks/treats from when they were teens and a bottle of booze that they might have stolen from their parent's liquor cabinet or had an older friend buy them.
3) Another time had a "Porn Party" and had all the bedrooms set up with a different "scene" or a different kind of kink. One was, of course, a sort of BDSM room with sport sheets, paddles/whips, etc. Another had funky lighting, props and a real, working video camera on a tripod. Another had a whole bunch of sex toys. You get the idea. :-)
And yes, Utahlds is right. You ABSOLUTELY have to choose the attendees carefully so that everyone invited more or less has similar personalities, body types, etc., so that nobody feels like the odd man out or is excluded once people start to play. One of the reasons we have the silly profile that we do is to sort of weed out people that don't have a similar sense of humor and that would likely just end up being annoyed by our personalities. All of our parties are decidedly NOT serious and are more about laughing and joking around and just having fun.

While we were empty nested we invited couples and maybe a select single for dinner and playtime. Sometimes everyone already knew each other and sometimes new connections occurred. We never had any negative consequences. In time we will have an empty house again and we will start doing more of those get together. At present Saturdays don’t work for the two of us together. It seems most swing scene get together happen Saturdays.
We were actually talking the other day about a party idea based on a recent forum thread. It might be fun to have a "Bucket List" party where everybody writes down a fantasy of some sort (one that can be acted out in at a small party) and anonymously drops them into a bucket.
Haven't worked out the details of how it would work best yet but basically either have two buckets (one male and one female) and have everyone take turns drawing a slip of paper from the opposite sex bucket and acting out the fantasy with the person who wrote it or, maybe instead, draw out the fantasies one by one and have people volunteer to act out the fantasy with the person who wrote it. You could even not have the author of the fantasy come forward until AFTER someone volunteered to act it out. Add another elemet of mystery or uncertainty
Alternatively, you could do something like give everyone some Monopoly money and have them "bid" to do the fantasies or something. Like I said, we didn't really work out the details. We were just talking about it in bed and thinking about the many naughty possibilities got us pretty worked up!

Just remembered another party we helped plan. It was actually hosted by some friends who lived down the street from us. It was a "Burlesque" party. Everyone dressed in sexy "stripper" clothes and/or old-time burlesque-y type stuff. The woman who hosted it is very talented and even made a burlesque "stage" for the party. It was SO much fun and SO sexy! :-)

Expanding on your idea of "Harry Potter such as “Gryffinwhore” and “Slytherinmyhole”" you could just host a 'REALLY Bad Dirty Pun Party' and have people dress as REALLY bad puns. Just a few off the top of my head...Downward Facing Doggy Style, or maybe Strip Polka. Make a game out of everyone guessing what people's bad puns are based on how they're dressed.
