Swingers Forum - New Swingers Club in Utah

Previous Post Next Post
I am curious to know how many people in Utah would like to have a swingers club somewhere in the Salt Lake City area?

So, please respond to the following questions:

1. Would you attend a swingers club in Salt Lake?

2. If so, how often would you attend?

3. What types of things would you like to see at the club? I.e., play rooms, dance floor, activities, etc.

4. What types of things have you seen at other clubs that you liked/disliked?

5. What do you feel would be a fair entrance fee?

Your response to these questions would be greatly appreciated and if there is enough interest could result in Utah finally getting a place opened just for those of us in the Lifestyle.

Thanks to everyone in advance for their responses. While I am aware Utah is a unique environment and will have some challenges, it would be great to have a place where we can go and be open with who we are and find others with the same mentality.

Thanks all!

Caliana
We'd love to have one! Since we can't host it would be nice to meet up and have a place to play spontaneously.

1. We would attend (assuming there is often a crowd)
2. Around once a month
3. Play rooms, sitting area, dance floor, pool table, "couples only" area, preferably a large open setting
4. $25-50 per couple $30-125 single males $0-25 single females (depending on how nice the club is)

I've often wondered why almost every other state but Utah has swingers clubs. I've always assumed it was legal limitations. But honestly if you could swing it (pun intended), we'd love it!
Love the idea
We agree with Davidandmarie exactly!
We agree as well. Several I've been to out of the country charge the same for a couple as a single male (which encourages single males to bring a date!). Also, women are ALWAYS free. Having a demonstration night would be great. For instance a BDSM themed room with a master teaching an audience. It's also a great setup for voyeurs and exhibitionists. Another room could have Symbian rides with a trainer. I've seen it done very nicely. PM me and I will be happy to share some club websites that I think are absolutely top notch!
Would be very interested in said club!
Would attend regularly all so would love a nice dance floor .

Hope it works out.
We do prefer to play out of state, but if the ambience and feeling of the place was exrremly safe and private then we would attend once a month..at least :)
Davidandmarie,

I don't think it is a legal issue, I think it is more of an issue of not knowing for certain if the concept would fly and have enough attendance to justify the massive expense in opening one up. I may decide to do it if it looks like it will be well-attended.

Fishinginutah,

You have some great ideas and we are going to need to chat more!

Herwoody801,

A dance floor is something we were planning, but we would want it in a separate area so there were still areas where people could chat without loud thumping music in their ears.

Wildfire,

Being super private, discreet, and extremely safe is something that would be our top priority. We have no desire to have our sexuality on display for the rest of the world either. I am considering making it a private club, which it would probably have to be for legal purposes, and we would have to create some kind of vetting process where you can only become a member if you know a member who can vouch for you, type of thing. That way we can make sure that everyone who is showing up is someone who is either part of the lifestyle already or seriously considering to be part of it. The last thing we want is to have "outsiders" coming just to gawk and potentially cause problems.

Additionally, cameras and cell phones would have to be left upon entrance so there would be no risk of cameras on site that could compromise the privacy of the guests.

Thanks for the input so far, keep it all coming!
We would totally love to see this happen. We would come a few times a month for sure.
The idea of a private club is great. Having spent some time in Europe, they are very uninhibited and get pretty wild. The idea of theme rooms or genres, would offer a great variety to appeal to everyone. We would be interested to see how it progresses. Would come regularly.
We would love to see this happen!
Smartflirts,

There are certainly some things to look at and make sure we won't have too many problems. I think there are a number of ways to get around any issues. What happens on a private residence is up to those who own the property. I think this is one of the reasons it would have to be a private club, members only. What consenting adults choose to do isn't illegal in a venue like a club any more than it is illegal in a private residence. The trick, as I understand it, is that the venue cannot be a public venue because then you run into public exposure and indecency laws. I could be wrong, and I would have to find someone who understands these kind of laws... the question is... who would actually know... lol.

You are correct, there will certainly be some challenges, but I think they can be worked through.

As for your idea of renting a house or something like that, I have thought about the same thing and it may be a good idea. Not a fix for what is needed in a club, but it is a start.

Freyja4u,

Thank you for the ideas, we were planning on themed rooms. Perhaps you can email us with ideas for those themed rooms. What have you seen at places you have been to?

4funandmore,

Could you email us with things you liked and didn't like from clubs you have been to? What things would you like to see that you haven't seen or have seen and would like to see here?
We would be down a few times a year. We love Scarlet Ranch in Denver and have often thought about opening a similar club in Utah or Vegas
I love the idea as an old widower of a nice comfortable place to meet and play.I have attended a few house play parties that were fun as well.
The swingers clubs we've gone to were in Phoenix before they closed them (showing our age here) or favorite was Guys and Dolls. They had a stripper pole, free pool tables, a shower area and a large hot tub. We weren't a fan of the hot tub but they keep it free of floating nasties. We went to Club Chameleon when guys and dolls was closed. They had multiple themed rooms (i.e. the dungeon with multiple bdsm accoutrement including a rack, the fish tank which was a room that was surrounded by clear fiberglass, and a large orgy room with a padded floor a lot of couches and porn playing through a projector) they also had multiple stripper pole a dance floor and free pool tables. The entrance was 35/couple, 25/single female and 65/single male. Idk why they got closed but the rumor for Guys and Dolls was that there were prostitutes that paid to enter and then propositioned sex for money. Finding a swingers club in state would be great. Being that we live in Box Elder County we'd probably be able to visit only every couple of months.
I wish there was a club in southeast Idaho.
The idea of a club sounds intriguing but for couples like us, who are only interested in single males, I'm not sure if a club would offer what we are looking for. They seem to be more centered around couples and single females.
That would be amazing!! Yes we would attend 2x a month.
I agree . We would attend
All, we've been trying to explore this idea for over a decade and there are many legal challenges. There is a public indecency law, even for private clubs. If you have a legal license, and you accept any amount of money, you fall within this law.

Trust us, we've been trying to figure this out ourselves as we've been wanting to create something. Right now, the safest avenues are private mansion parties and legal lifestyle friendly and/or off-premise clubs which we are starting to explore.

We've been trying to find a club to buy with an existing license for a while I now. If anyone has any prospects, let us know.

Rob
We would attend as well about 2x a month or so. The ones we've been to in Las Vegas were fun but one was dirty and nasty. I would think a good dance area along with a pool table and seating area along with play rooms would be great. A big community type play room as well as individual play rooms or a room with windows would be fun. The main thing is keeping it clean! There's nothing worse than going into a dirty, disgusting play area.
As a single old male I have found if hard to find people to play with on a regular basis. A club that would invite single men would be wonderful.
Put one of these in Southern utah and I'm there!
If you're looking for a model, the Scarlet Ranch in Littleton, CO is a very nice facility. Large dance floor, playrooms downstairs, nice outdoor area. A fun place to visit.

So I couldn't resist doing some research on the legal side....as we know Utah is a legal mess when it come to sexual issues. But, I did find how a swingers club in Tennessee got around the entire issue....ready for this? They became a church!
Religion in Utah has some serious protections and freedoms. Might be the way around the problem..

That is a good idea!

I wonder about the membership idea, don't have a cost to attended but people must buy memberships.

I have seen a lot of unique ideas in the tech area. One being membership tokens. These tokens have value and are traded but they can be used for access and services, if the club had no cost but only membership tokens, it may work around the law.

Here is how a strip club in Vegas is using them. https://legendsroomlv.com/

Would something like that fly here?
I'd love to have an event space dedicated to carnal pleasures! I teach sensual massage courses (http://slcsensualmassage.com) and am involved with The Intimacy Institute of SLC. (http://womenturnedon.org). We would love to conduct lifestyle courses dealing with all aspects of sexuality including body image workshops, massage courses, relationship seminars, panel discussions about topics ranging across the LBGTQ, BDSM spectrum.

Please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected] if you'd like to chat. We have an amazing staff and are just looking for the right event space.

My answers to the questions -

Yes, I would attend.

Probably every couple of weeks, if not more often.

I find the idea of charging more for single males to be pretty repulsive. There are single girls like me who want to go have fun and don't want to play with attached males. Charging more for single men limits my options and honestly, would keep me from going. That policy heavily favors married/attached men, as fewer single men will attend if the price is higher.
Unfortunately, the church idea was tried just over 12 years ago. The state shut it down quickly.
We would definitely attend, although probably only a few times per year since we are in logan. Would like many of the same things already mentioned and feel $25-50 would be an appropriate entrance fee.
Yes that would be amazing! Pool hot-tub bar dungeon room dance floor stripper pole private and vouyeer rooms are all great for making it fun! Would attend one a month.
just curious if there has been any momentum from this feed? It seems there is a following, so where do we go from here? Being a swinger in Utah definitely has it's down falls, one of which being "follow through". We have tried nearly every avenue in finding fwb only to find most just want sexting buddies. If we had a place to physically meet, the way it was once upon a time before technology, there would be a much higher success rate at actually meeting people! I've seen an e-vite somewhere floating around that invites members of swingular to a private area of a public club downtown on Friday nights. Has anyone ever attended this? How was it? I think that would be a good place to start for getting a feel of how many would actually attend something like this if you are serious about opening a venue.
We would definitely come when the wife is in town from work. Sounds like a great idea. Sounds like david and Marie are right on point.
We would definitely come keep us posted
We'd come
We would be interested.
Come on people---let's get this going.
would love a place to go to where everybody knows my name

My husband already posted on this topic a while back, but I’m now adding my opinion.

In addition to state law hurdles and liquor licensing nightmare laws, each city has difficult sexually oriented business licensing requirements and ordinances. Yes, a nieve person will think that a swingers club is not a sexually oriented business, but city leaders and members of the public will make a big push to ensure a swingers club fits within the ordinance definitions. The licensing process is very public and anyone involved in the licensing will have a lot of exposure. Licensing applications often require background checks, names, business site visits and walkthroughs, and ongoing mandatory surveys after the business opens. Publicity and continued legal battles with the state and city scare couples away.

Research Plato’s a Short-lived swingers club in NYC that was briefly open. During its existence it was continually challenged, closed, reopened, raided, and ultimately put out of business. If NYC ensures Plato's went out of business how is a swingers club in Utah going to fare?

This is a link to SLC’s Sexually Orented Businesses overview page that has links to the ordinance. Most other cities have some type of ordinance like this. http://www.slcgov.com/business-licensing/sob

Keep having house parties. . . .
Remember the mansion in Draper on 13th east? That collapsed under the weight of its’ own overhead, although I certainly give the organizers credit.
The Moose is still alive and well! We talked with the new man that is now running the place last Friday night when we were there, and he has some great ideas to make the Moose better than ever! Here's a little info that we learned about the new changes, and we want to share it with everyone.:

* Friday's are now Lifestyle night. It use to be "Gay Night" (as it was always referred as), and the Lifestyle just shared the club with them. It is still open to the public; however, they are trying to get the Lifestyle to take over Friday's.

* Upstairs will still be reserved for Lifestyle guests, and will still require a wristband for access. There will be a bartender upstairs.

* The price to get in is $5.00 for Lifestyle members per person. This includes a free shot ticket and access to the upstairs. YOU MUST SPECIFY THAT YOU ARE WITH THE LIFESTYLE GROUP when paying; otherwise, you'll have to pay the $10.00 per person price that the general public will have to pay to get in.

* The dance floor will still be for everyone.

* Once a month they will have a live band on Friday nights. This will begin on this Friday night, April 13, 2018. The band this week is CHANGING LANES, and is sure to be a great performance and lots of fun! You can Google them to get an idea of their music.

* When the live band is done, there will still be a DJ playing music so the dancing and fun can continue. There will be a live DJ every week.

* One of the biggest complaints about the Moose in the past has been that it's too loud to socialize. There will be a sound man that will now control the volume of the music upstairs so that we can all talk and meet new people and actually be able to hear what each other are saying. It will still be loud enough to enjoy and dance to, so don't worry about losing the music vibe that pumps us all up! Please note, when the live band is playing, they control the volume, not the Moose personnel.

So good things are coming for the Moose Lounge, and it's up to US to make it a success! Let's get out and have some fun together this Friday night...and Every Friday night!

There are not a lot of options for the lifestyle in Utah. We can make this club our own and finally have a decent place to hang out.
would love the idea. I am single. Looking to meet a couple for a long term relationship and I'd love to have a space to get to know a larger group verses the chatting online
Froglove, we sent you a DM.
Love it, we went to Secrets in Orlando and loved it.
