Hello all, We are headed to Sturgis from Aug 6 to the 13th anyone else going?
We are leaving the 7th and at the chip the 9th
we would like to make our first trip, any places left to reserve to stay?
We are staying at Katmandues in our 5th wheel because prety much all hotels where booked when i checked five months ago. Its going to be a blass we wnet two years ago.
Have no clue what Sturgis is like. But Here in Johnstown,PA they have Thunder in The Valley every year this WEEK in June. My home town Windber, PA has an annual bike rally called Windber Rumble it used to be called "The Dog Run".

I an not a big fan, Honestly all thse TWO biker rallies do is allow The biker gangs to mule thier dope through are area. Being that Windber is not even ten miles away from Johnstown. And that this whole area has been economically depressed since John Murtha took the 12th districts Congressional chair. We do nt need this here. Because as long as the bike rallies are here. The buisnesses will make money off of them and the tourists they bring in. Which ultimately means that the jobs the rallies create are only PART TIME SEASONAL work. The buisnesses may make money but the people living around don't. Plus we have to put up with all the drug addicts and dealers in this area selling the biker gangs dope.

I'ld imagine Sturgis has the same problem. But Sturgis is also about twice the size of johnstown. So I don't think the negative aspects of an annual biker rally. Are so appearent. Oh yeah, I forgot The city council of Altoona PA are now trying to initiate thier own annual Biker rally. That would be three biker rallies every summer in this small economically depressed area of PA.
Going to be at Glencoe 8/6 to 8/14. Right now it is $160.00. check them out do a yahoo search.
Leaving from Mesquite NV with female partner who is also on this site. Spending a couple days in Durango Colo. before riding in to Keystone S.D. Welcome anyone else who would like to ride with.
1st trip newbies. Any tips?
Good morning everyone. We live in Reno area so we are taking our bike in our toy hauler and staying in it for the week. We are leaving on Friday the 6th spending the night in Tooele for the night with some old frineds. leaving Salt lake area on the 7th if anyone would like to put there bike in the toy hauler. Yes i know we are suppose to ride but we also need somewhere to stay.
I am going out there with two other girlfriends both bi staying at the chip and looking to ride our harleys and some hot babes, "no single men" sorry we just want to eat pussy and use our strap on's we will be staying in my dads 40 ft 3 slide motor home so plenty of room to party
Is anybody out there know if there is going to be a meet and greet in Sturgis this year and if so when and where? If not any ideas?????

Justin, I've been to all 13 Thunder In The Valley rallys.
NEVER have I heard ANYONE voice what you just have - INCLUDING THE VARIOUS POLICE AGENCIES.
Biker gang activity at TITV is miniscule, AND RIVAL GANGS CALL A TRUCE DURING ANY MAJOR RALLY, INCLUDING TITV & Sturgis - yet the TITV rally brings in over 200,000 visitors for one week every year, and provides a MAJOR financial boost to the "regional" economy.
The last time I checked, the businesses you admit make "tainted" money from the bikers are run by the (your words here) "people who live around".
I'm curious to know your rationale about being against local merchants making money off tourism - if only for a week each year.

I think you need to get a serious grip on reality.
Just because the money we spend when we visit for the rally doesn't end up in YOUR personal jeans pocket is NO reason to condemn a GREAT event.
Methinks your post is more about YOUR personal economy than anything else.
Give me your address and I'll personally walk up and hand you a couple of my ill-gotten biker drug bucks next year when I come up for the 14th Annual Thunder In The Valley - hopefully (but doubtful) that will stop you from making untrue and innacurate statements about one of the best run, best received, fastest growing and most family oriented biker rallys in the country.
And if the perceived drug traffic causes you such heartburn, why don't you volunteer to help the local (Scalp Level PD I believe that would be now) police clean up Graham Avenue so the "local" druggies won't have a venue to do business?
Police in Cambria, Bedford, Blair, Somerset, Westmoreland and Indiana counties RAVE about how crime free their jurisdictions are during TITV, so they should have plenty of time on their hands to help you find your theoretical hypodermic-needle-in-the-haystack. Or was that a drug dealing Unicorn on a Vespa?
And while you're at it, why don't you meet with the manager of the new Sheetz Convenience Store (as soon as its built) as well as other merchants in the 5-county area, and suggest they not take any money from any of the 200,000 bikers for fear it might be drug money.
I know me and a bunch of other dregs-of-society bikers in downtown Johnstown dropped a LOT of antiACIDs and smoked a LOT of funny smelling Camel Filters (all bought from local merchants) during the week.
Never been to the Dog Run/Windber Rumble - but why would it be any different than Thunder In The Valley in terms of criminal activity.

Oh my - is it possible BOTH the Outlaws AND the Pagans turned you down for membership? Is that what this nonsensical anti-biker, anti-rally rant is all about?
Ve haf our vays of checking you know.

Oh, and can you give me a rough time of day when the sky is gonna fall?
I wanna make sure I'm wearing the helmet I bought with the money I got selling illegal imported Columbian Similac and Infamil to the residents of the Windber Hospital nursery.

Justin, you have just proven to one and all that those who make the most noise protesting something usually have NO idea of facts to back up their accusations.
Try posting some factual stastics on the drug activity and other heinous activity you claim happens during TITV - just to give your claims some HINT of credibility.
Sorry, but there are no statistics to back up what I say - there are never statistics on things that DID NOT take place.

Bikers nationwide are some of the best people in the world - and one person from a wide spot in the road former coal town in Pennsylvania, spewing mis-information, is NOT going to change that.
Have you considered the possibility that you're not getting enough fiber in your diet?
Leaving out around the 1st. of August, will be staying at Glenco. Hope to get in as much riding and fun as possible...... Be up and down Titty Alley every evening.... PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin you just have no fucking clue period! Before you open your mouth about all the bad drug pushing bikers and how they only help the economy for a week why don't you find out the facts. The businesses in Sturgis make half their money for the year in the two weeks of the bike rally. I'm sure the money the local businesses make during the rally in PA help keep them afloat so they are still open for you locals after all the bikers have left.
Will be headed out Friday as well...Camping for the first time in a LONG time at Glencoe (Always stayed in a Hotel room, before)...should be a lot of fun!...I think...LOL Unfortunately...will be playing tour guide for my oldest boy and some of his friends, who have never been before, this year..and leaving Tiff behind to work..poor girl...:(

Was just thinking..it might be nice to have a way of identifying other members who might be there...maybe a special mark..or decal on your windshield..or...???? Just a thought...

TiffnD
My girlfriends and i have been in three club houses hells angels, outlaws, and black pistons and have been treated with nothing but respect its the ass holes that that are wana bes and think they are real tough bad asses are the ones you have the most trouble within the bars in all the club houses because of police raids there are no drugs allowed or any thing illegal and thats a fact my girlfriend and i went into a biker bar and kept getting hit on by a couple of ass holes i told them to leave us a lone but they wouldnt quit and one jerk kept feeling me up so i told one of the outlaws and they kicked the shit out of them knocked there teeth out and broke there jaws and fingers that taught them a serious lesson dont fuck with girls you dont know
Agreed, wicked.
I've been screwed more times than I can count by a Born Again Christian - but I've NEVER been screwed by a biker.
Regardless of what else a bad-ass biker gangs may be into - I assure you, they will NEVER fuck you over.

I would trust my life to a Hell's Angel, a Pagan or an Outlaw before I would trust it to some self righteous, goody-goody two shoes upstanding citizen pretender.
If he don't have a patch, he aint shit my opinion
I fly a patch - but I don't think you'd like it.
MUST BE A "HOG OR ABATE"PATCH
I belong to both - butt that ain't it.

Sturgis is a blast no matter if you ride bikes or not. since we live in one of the major hang outs for sturgis we get to enjoy it every year

Aww..we did have a blast..Thanks HarleyCpl! As for the Chip...my opinion is it is a great deal for concerts....but....campground is a dusty, dirty, treeless, hayfield...and can be VERY hot during this week. Didn't stay there this year..but did visit for the Buck Cherry/ZZ Top concert...Showers I heard were $6 to use....that's enough to turn me away. We stayed in the trees and grass at Glencoe...and took free showers...I'll be back there again next year.
