Burning Man is the big one held North of Reno NV just before labor day and there'll be tens of thousands of people there, Element is the local Utah version and it's happening next weekend.

I'm guessing here but insurance, site rental, toilet rental, cleanup costs, licensing from the state to hold a large public event, security
It goes on for 4 days and 3 nights so 20 bucks or so a day and a night is pretty cheap. Desert Rocks last weekend was more expensive.
i plan on buying my ticket on the 8th just to make sure the weather will cooperate this year.
Um Ehmm; as the night goes furhter into the night and more comes off, where do guys put there wallet? lol. Looks and sounds like a lot of fun! is there a web page?

It's a cash free community, no money should be needed but bartering is allowed. From the wiki

1. Go here and buy your ticket in advance: https://element- 11-the-utah- regional- burn.ticketleap. com/element- 11-2010-06- 10-2010-15- 0 THEN PRINT YOUR TICKET AND BRING IT WITH YOU.
2. If you received a discount code use it before the gate to get maximum value.
3. If you don't have internet access or want to pay cash etc. Please contact e11boxoffice@ gmail.com, before Wednesday and arrange pay and pick up of tickets. AT MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY 6/9/2010 YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO BUY TICKETS FOR THE $65 PRICE....PLEASE GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THIS SENTENCE and READ IT AGAIN SO IT IS CLEAR!!!
4. We are NOT the greeters, they are after you see us. While we are nice folks, if you hang out with us to see your friends you will slow those folks down who are trying to get to the event.
5. Two things about the list 1) You are NOT on the list 2) There is NO LIST. IF you don't have a general admission ticket, a discounted ticket or one of the rare guest tickets you will pay $100 dollars to enter. There will be absolutely no exceptions to the rule. Please don't expect Miracles and don't ask for them.
Now that the heavy rules have been put out, can't wait to see you there
