How can you possibly blame Admin for the participation or non participation of the membership?

Granted, more folks from Utah choose to post to the Forums than from any other state, but the Forums are open to anyone - from anywhere - who is a Swingular member - including you, obviously.

Secrets - A most thoughtful and interesting post! I was hoping the initial post wouldn't be interpreted as some sort of slam by too many. That wasn't my intention, as you were able to tell. (end of to - Secrets).
I have formed numerous virtual friendships on this site. One reason for that has been the interesting minds I have run across over time in this particular forum section.
I'm aware that over-the-top posting by a few forced so-called political topics from the front page. I simply feel obligated to voice my opinion that the 'social calendar' that the forum has become so frequently now, is a hindrance to the site's national appeal. If area-specific activities were limited to just one or two of the front page slots, I'd just check out the remainder and go on my merry way. But when I open Swingular to find 5 threads concerning upcoming local events/downtown hotspots/etc., it really isn't worth the bother (since only the front page threads appear to get significant hits).
Thus, upon further review, I don't believe the solution was better than the perceived "problem". It seems a bit of a trap between if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it and there-is-always-room-for-improvement. I simply maintain that the status quo won't gain market share.

This website BEGAN IN FLORIDA, not in Utah. This is why if you notice the "join date" on many Florida profiles you will see they are quite old. We joined this website when it was based in Florida in June, 2002. From what I've been told the current admin wanted to move "out west" and there was an agreement between the partners involved BOTH could share the original members database.
This may explain to some why there are so many Florida profiles are here. (The farthest "west" we have been is going to the beach in TAMPA and swimming in the Gulf of Mexico) I didn't know anyone lived in Utah besides the Osmond family. (That was a joke for you people living in Rio Linda California)
The original website kept the original name (name withheld out of respect for this website) and the other became "Swingular"....
The majority of the original Florida members stayed with the original site when the two split which only made sense because it's administrator was based in Florida and still is to this day. The "other website" went on and promoted itself in both North & South Carolina where it's huge in those states as it is in Florida.
I just checked the membership stats on the "other website" and it has more than THIRTEEN THOUSAND Florida members alone, damn if I know what what the total membership must be but it's far more then Swingular because it got it's start in Florida and stayed there and obviously we have a HELL OF A LOT of people, just try driving around Tampa or Orlando and you will get my point.
And now finally to my point, we don't log in here to make a connection, all of our friends are on the other website. We log in to read this forum which more often than not is MORE INTERESTING and has as many responses as the other site with a GAZILLION members.
As for the political section the "other website" also banned that stuff from appearing on the front page many years ago and we could not agree more. There are 1000's of websites where one can go spew their politics, have fun and don't let the browser hit you in the ass. We have zero interest in knowing what potential playmates think about current politics or the "state of the nation".
So my point is this forum may not me "national" but it's pretty damn good and a special thanks to those who keep us coming back to read what you "Out West" knuckleheads have to say, some of you are pretty darn funny.

You can't blame us Utards for having a fairly active if not colorful forum board...not to mention the most active swinging community of any that we have lived in. Google your own areas for swinging sites, you're bound to find one more appropriate for your geographical location. In the meantime...can't we all just get along (even living in different states)? Diversity is a spice of life.

Thoughtgarden (and Utahans)- I really would like to stress there was no intent on my part to be critical of "Utards". Many of the most interesting voices are those from Utah. That's why I like the potential the FORUM has shown at times. I initially indicated that my interest in Swingular wasn't nearly as much for meeting people as it was for the 'interesting' forum. I have not found another site that occasionally shows the potential for stimulating general conversation. My only point is the local social aspect that becomes so predominant, so frequently. Also as previously indicated, we do utilize other sites for potential connections. The missus never even visits this site. I used to be able to enjoy some very interesting give and take here, but the new policy has dumbed-down the front page and led to it primarily serving as a social calendar and hook-up hunt - in my humble opinion that's not a "forum".
As for us all getting along, I'm in total agreement. But then, who always gets along? Husbands and wives? Siblings? Parents and their children? We have disagreement with loved ones and family and, hopefully, discord makes us collectively stronger and closer. I love harmony as much as anyone, but taken to an extreme it can become boring and unproductive, don't ya think? Shit, 'Blues' music would never have gotten off the ground and C&W singers would have nothing to sing about!
In summary, there was no intent to dis Utah folks (in fact I'm trying to be complimentary - you are just fully utilizing what is available to you). I further was not being critical of administration (I think they have a great site and run it well). I am simply suggesting that a potentially, really good FORUM is suffering from narcissism.
There is a category for "Just Talk". The point of it is what exactly, if non-sex related topics are frowned upon? I assume it's not for advertising one's boat for sale, or is it?

TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA here. I guess I just don't understand the main question. I don't know if he's mad that the site reaches all over the World or if he wants it to reach further?! I will tell you that I have met VERY MANY people from all over the states and have personally met a few couples that were visiting here. Another will be coming to stay with us in a few months. We will be headed to Vegas in March and hooking up with another small crew and our local club, CLUB ELITE, has had visitors from 4 different states that I can think of due to people hooking up on this site. I don't know what more you could ask for.....
