The accounting firm study projects the legislation would add $1,700 a year to the cost of family coverage in 2013, when most of the major provisions in the bill would be in effect.
Premiums for a single person would go up by $600 more than would be the case without the legislation, the PricewaterhouseCoopers analysis concluded in the study commissioned by the insurance group.
"Several major provisions in the current legislative proposal will cause health care costs to increase far faster and higher than they would under the current system," Karen Ignagni, the top industry lobbyist in Washington, wrote in a memo to insurance company CEOs.

A promise that health care will save us money is gone. CBO can not confirm we will spend less on health care. And adds it will cost all of us more through fines, and out of wallet expenses. Unions are now speaking out starting today and are upset that real savings will not be met, and that health care jobs will be lost to such a program.Benifits will be lost to seniors. Pay now and get later is not doing very well with Unions.
And everyone knows if we continue to do nothing health care costs will drop like they have in the past and those not US citizens will continue to be turned away at the ER. Those that hire undocumented workers will have to pay for the cost of their medical . . . . and Santa will work with the Easter Bunny to make all our dreams come true.
I would guess those that have gone uninsured in the past putting insurance below things like a new car, a nice house, and such in the budget but have received services paid for by the rest of us would dislike a law that makes insurance for everyone required.

And if you drive your car without insurance and get into an accident what do you think will happen? I agree jail is a bit "out there." Better what they do in Japan - take it from your pay if you don't take care of it yourself.
I agree that if you dont have insurance an automatic deduction should be offered from your pay check to cover you against only catistophic health care issues, not the flu, a cold, ect...Heart attack, major injury, and the like should be covered if you dont have insurance, but jail time is a bit much dont you think?

It appears the thread is still here. No one is posting anywhere on this site. I have noticed a marked reduction in posting on all forums not just the political forums, all threads have been effected by this assholes attitude toward opposing POV. Sorry folks this guy has made it hard for all of us not me.
