wow...interesting. I don't see myself as a failed human being at all. Nor do I see myself as being unfaithful to my marriage. I choose to see it from this perspective. No one has any power over my marraige beyond my husband and myself. And being with others only seems to prove over and over again how truly important and unique my relationship is with my husband. No matter how fantastic the sex is with someone else I always walk away appreciating my husband more.

Even if someone better (a better fit for me) came along, a better situation I am firm in my conviction that I would say no every time. There is something to be said about a man that appreciates you for what you are and deals with all of ur crazy moments and baggage FIRST. A man who made you those important promises and chose to begin loving you with all of his heart FIRST. You may love several others in your lifetime, but there is nothing as core-defining and soul touching as the first to sincerely value you and show you that in every way possible.

To cheat...well I believe that is anything that seperates you from your marriage, from your significant other, and it differs for each person, each couple, each moment in time. For some it is sleeping with someone else. For others its emotionally connecting with someone other than ur significant other. It could also be any act that can be seen as betrayl, something that gives the feeling of being degraded or devalued or any form of disrespect. These are all things to strive to stay away from...and if they happen, quickly and full-heartedly make ammends. It all depends on the parites involved and what ur relationship has progressed to.
Silver - VERY well said! :D
If everyone concerned/involved in ANY kind of relationship is a consenting adult, and no laws are being broken, then who the hell gives a rat's ass what ANYBODY else thinks?

There are far too many people in this world who think it's their mission in life to mind other people's business.

NEWS FLASH:
It's not.
Silver...

Wisdom beyond your years... very well said indeed. Normally I would expect that type of answer from someone with 10 or 20 years of adult life experience, normally I would say that unless you have lived it and had the experience you are describing then it is only a theoretical answer... but you nailed it and it really sounds like you KNOW it. How'd you get so smart? Again, nicely done.

Funny, it was Gay Talese's book "Thy Neighbors Wife" that was the beginning of my enlightenment, it was reading more about the Sandstone Retreat that really opened my eyes (can you say early 80's!). Cool to see him quoted in this article, can't wait for the new book mentioned there.
SILVER: Kudos to you...very well-said! :)
