Swingers Forum - Seeking Beta-Testers for Swingulars New Site Redesign

line
Previous Post Next Post
We are getting closer to launching the all new redesigned Swingular.com. Before we launch the public beta, we will be testing with a small group of testers first. We are in seek of persons that are intermediate to expert users of the internet that can provide subjective criticism about design and ease of use as well as have the ability to discover errors and design flaws. They will report their findings on the test site.

This person must also be able to provide feedback on a weekly basis if new designs or features are introduced or if new issues are discovered during the testing period. We also ask that they provide updates of limited information to the regular Swingular.com forums to keep our members updated on the status of the beta and to keep them excited about the upcoming launch.

This person must also be willing to sign a non-disclosure statement protecting our intellectual property, features and design from being disclosed outside of the testing website in any form except for the limited information previously mentioned. This is substantial as we are introducing many new features and designs that no other site has put to use that we know of and wish to keep it this way until we launch.

We are seeking one person in each of the following software and equipment categories:

- Internet Explorer v6.0/Windows/PC (One Person)
- Internet Explorer v7.0/Windows/PC (One Person)
- Internet Explorer v8.0/Windows/PC (One Person)
- Firefox 2.0/Windows/PC (One Person)
- Firefox 3.0/Windows/PC (One Person)
- FF/Mac (One Person)
- Safari/Mac (One Person)

These additional browsers are recommended in addition to the ones mentioned by anyone who is a beta-tester but are not required. We are not officially supporting these browsers but would like to know where we stand with them.

- Opera
- Google Chrome

If you are interested in the beta test, please send an email to the ADMINISTRATOR telling us why you think you would make a good beta tester and the software/platform you will be using. Please provide as much information as possible to set yourself apart from the rest as we will have a limited number of spots open and will be picking the best candidates. There is no compensation for testing however we will be awarding some gifts to the top testers.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with those who are accepted.

We forget to mention that we need testers with dial up access and slower computer systems as well.
Dial-up still exists?
I know, huh? You'd be surprised to find out how many people use Swingular and have AOL dial up still.
Oh...I only use AOL if I get the CD-ROM with 1000 minutes at 7-11....haha
We would try for you,and we have wild blue satellite. That is fast down load and slow up load would be a little different.
we will try ours is the average cup of joe
Firefox 3 and IE7 here. Have both slow and fast connections...

Mav
We would be happy to help - Firefox 3.0 and IE 8 here!
Rob:

I'm using SeaMonkey 1.1.7 (aka Mozilla/5.0 ) a grown-up version of Firefox.
I also have Firefox & IE:p

As far as myself, I've been writing HTML for years (see familysynergy.org) and in the lifestyle even longer.

BTW: in Seamonkey the text boxes (in the Swingular site only) to have NO cursors!!
This appears to be an ongoing Mozilla (i.e.Firefox) problem:

...is anyone ELSE seeing this problem?

Also... It would be VERY helpful to SEE the Forum messages when replying (ala: the 'Quick Reply' at http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com) which also has a "Quote message in reply?" option.

I would be willing to help, but my time is limited (I've still got a full time job -TYG-) to a few hours on the weekends.

I use IE7 and Google Crome. Windows xp pro, xp home and vista. I can also test IE8 if need be. Cable connection at home and t3 line at work.
We have both Macs and PCs and we have experience in all the web browsers available. It helps that Gio actually teaches web design at college level. :)
