Swingers Forum - Paid Chat Room Feature

A few of our members have made the suggestion that we utilize a third party chat room host as an additional chat room service. To cover the additional monthly costs to acquire such a service, members would have the choice to pay an additional monthly fee to access this chat room. Because it would be hosted by a third party, the chat room would be quicker and more stable; no more lag.

We would still have the normal chat room that we have now for members who do not wish to pay the monthly fee and we are still redesigning a new version in house, however, it will never be as nice as having a dedicated chat service.

We know video chat is a major part of our community so we just wanted to find a way to improve that part of the service without increasing normal membership fees.

We just wanted to get feedback from all of you to see if this is something you would be interested in and if it would be worth looking into.
We don't use chat much so we can't say one way or the other....
As much as im in the chat room ( everyday).

I would still Use the old one.

Thats just me

Oh shit, I don't need any more expenses. Can you delete this thread before my wife gets home?
I have not had enough of a problem with the current chat room to make the monthly service fee worth while. But that is just my opinion.
We prefer reg IM anyway..wish more people utilized the one we have here.
I'm in the chat on a daily basis. Usually several times during the day. I very rarely have any troule with lag. I would continue using the free chat. I wouldn't ever pay to use a chat room.
OK....the wife saw the thread before it got deleted....lol

I don't have a problem with the chat as it is now......yes there is an occasional lag, and people get the boot on occasion, but it's really not that big of a deal.

I love being able to chat with my friends whenever i want, as far as paying extra for a chat room.......I wouldn't do it.
We figured the current chat was sufficient and when we complete the new version of it, it should be just fine for everyone. We just had 5 or 6 different members tell us they were willing to pay a monthly fee for a dedicated chat service so we wanted to see if it was something a lot of you were thinking about. Since you are the ones that are in the chat room day in and day out, only you know how good it ultimately is.

One other option in lieu of a monthly fee is using a dedicated chat service with ads displayed on the bottom of the chat window. Just a thought.
We kinda like the current one. If ya change it we wont figure it out, LOL! Besides why fix whats not broken.
Just our $.02

Even with some of the glitches and occasional lag, there still aren't enough reasons to justify us switching to a premium third-party chat service.

Keep it!

NO - I won't pay for an additional Chat Room.

When I signed up for life membership - Chat Room was included.

Please don't turn this into the government and start adding additional taxes if we want additional services.
What ever happened to the time-tested business practice of giving the consumer MORE for their money - as opposed to finding ways to GET more of their money?

Here's a thought:
McDonalds can lower the content of a Big Mac to 1/5-pound.
If you want a traditional 1/4-pound Big Mac, they can charge an additional fee.

Sorry, don't mean to sound sarcastic, but I'm pretty much at the end of my rope when it comes to people sticking their hands into my wallet and then still wanting more.
We would not pay for an other chat room, We are happy with the one we have now....May-b- u should just update it more often, considering it's used alot every day and night. We have enough bill's to pay, don't need another one. keep the one us Member's got with our member -ship payment. A&H
I'll tell you what - there is ONE feature I'd be willing to pay a fair and reasonable "one-time-only" fee for, and that would be Instant Messaging.
If someone on your "friends" list is online, you could IM them without having to resort to e-mailing back and forth or both going into the Chat Room just to talk.

Add that to the overall package, make the upgrade price fair, and you may get more people interested than just me.

There's a tab on the Profile page for Instant Messaging, but no one seems to have ever been able to use it.
