So how long after logging in and inactivity does the system automatically log you off? Why do you get the cookie or timed out page instead of going directly to the log in page...just seems like we are having to click twice the buttons as elsewhere. Thanks
After about an hour of inactivity, if you don't press the log out button, the system automatically logs you out. The reason it takes you to that page is because you are trying to reach a page without being logged in. It doesn't know if you are allowed or not so it is a standard page for everyone. If you log out on your own, it takes you back to the log in page. Hope that explains it.
I have seen while in the new chat feature you are logged out a lot sooner that one hour..just an FYI.

Just have to add to this. I haven't timed it, but I'd say it's more in the 45 minute range, max. This was especially frustrating when I left the computer for a few minutes in the middle of a long email response to a member, came back, finished and hit send, only to find out I'd lost the whole thing! When I hit the back button, the whole thing was gone. I hope there's a way to prevent this or lengthen the time, this was VERY frustrating.
We were thinking of adding an option to your settings that allow you to choose the length of timeout. Some people who maybe have kids or are using a computer that's not private can choose a shorter time and ones that it doesn't matter can choose a longer time or no timeout at all... What do you think?
I think thats a very good option....I know our son has his own machine but there are times when someone else maybe using one of ours. I am sure that some ppl check in from work as well without the boss knowing and a timeout option would work nicely for them just incase they forget to log out before heading home.
I agree, I think adding an option to our settings would be great. I know you're still getting things organized, but this is the kind of thing that needs to be in the help/FAQ section. There really isn't too much info there yet. I wasn't even aware there was a login timeout, and couldn't find any info on it anywhere.
We are on a cable modem and the box is on 6AM-12AM and would like to NOT have to log back in every 30 min or so.
