I'm referring to Biden predicting that Obama would be tested very early on. The statement was seen as good-ole-Biden-putting-his-foot-in-his-mouth again. MY statement was tongue-in-cheek, but I thought it would provoke interesting comments. I'll comment.
How sizable of an event will it take for that attitude to be brought up (for that matter how big will this event prove to be?) ? You know that the right wing is anxiously waiting for something with meat on the bone. Obama may get somewhat of a honeymoon, but I'll bet Biden is considered fair game.
This is ceratinly "early" and it begs the question - "if it escalates significantly, who will be calling the shots?" The lame-duck cowboy with the itchy-trigger-finger sidekick, or the guy who will be left dealing with the mess?

I doubt this had anything to do with Biden's comment, (as wrong as it was for him to say it). I think this was probably more along the lines of someone, whether it be Pakistan or the taliban or Iran, maybe even Bin Laden himself trying to get the U.S. to go after Pakistan. Initial reports are that it is either a Domestic group or a small time Pakistani outfit. Notice how it came on the heels of the Iraqi Parliment deciding to extend U.S. Troop presence another 3 years. Someone may be trying to see how over extended we will allow ourselves to become to make our troops more easily targeted or maybe to turn people away from thinking our own Domestic Security needs to be taken more seriously.

IMO there are two problems with this theory
1) Why is it our problem anyway? The Indian Government can handle it, they have so far. We have sent a Team from the FBI to assist in investigation, should be enough on our part.
2) If GWB is as fucked up and incompetent as you would like the world to believe, Wouldn't you rather your man Obama has some input as to how the situation gets handled since it will become his problem? Or would you just rather have someone else to blame but Obama if things go wrong?
