ok For you folks on the Left Coast.....No, I think the bailout of wall street, banks and AIG are fresh enough we don't need to be reminded of them, but apparently "Lefties" need to be reminded that Soclialist legislation caused them to need the Socialist bailout. Had they not been forced to give out high risk loans to those who could not afford them, they would not have been in a situation that required a bailout. (Yeah I know you will say the legislation was the fault of righties and blah blah) However, More socialistic legislation will not solve the problem. America is the land of opportunity, when One person fails it opens the door for someone else to succeed. Prosecute those responsible for fannie and Freddie, Take back the millions given to the CEO's in Severence pay, bonuses and salaries to help cover the debts incurred and let the private sector move in and take over. There are plenty of investors out there that would be more than willing to take over these mortgages if they could get a decent interest rate, which isn't going to happen as long as the Government is involved in the Mortgage and banking business.
TOPFREEINGA,
You can thank Bush senior for starting it all in 1992.
HAHHA! Sorry slim. GOP's fault too. HAHAHA! It was Bush seniors bailout plan. HAHAHA!!

You seem to forget that the CRA was about to be nullified in 98-99. Somebody threatened a veto if it went thru congress. Somebody nudged Fannie on to take on more bad loans.

Pretty much like 2 kids in the backseat that get punished for fighting. One did something to the other and the other did something to the first kid. In my book, both get sent to the cooler or whatever punishment.

Granted, but that partial blame for the F&F bullshit coupled with the GOP's 8 years of failure in the presidency and 6 in senate and congress, I think it's time for a party change.

HAHAHAHA!!! The capitalists got what they wanted. They got all their buddies a 700 Billion dollar check. Come on. We do need more economic conservatism. The only problem is the GOP also want to bring social conservatism. They can shove that shit up their ass sideways. So we don't need another 4-8 years of the GOP that's for sure. I think Obama will bring changes that are more closely fit with what the country needs. I think McCain'll be more Bush-o-nomics and Bush Foreign policy.

See, My stimulus package was a tax break since I have paid my taxes every year since the age of 14 when I got my first official job. It was an addition to the refund recieved earlier in the year. I DO NOT LIVE OFF OF OTHER PEOPLES TAXES. So, No, I would not return the MY MONEY that the Government RETURNED me in the form of a stimulus check, that they TOOK from me in the form of Taxes.

HOT,
So, far all I've read from you is the same NEO-CON talking points that "Drug Addict Fat Ass" Limbaugh spews out.
Before, you spew out "Socialist", I think you should look in the mirror because you'll see a socialist in America.
================================================================
But whether Limbaugh has drug problems or not, the question remains. Does the point he raised have any truth or not.
And as I have said before, other socialist countries are moving towards capitalism and doing well with their moves (embracing capitalism). We seem to want to move in the opposite direction (embracing socialism).

Greed is going to be eternal. Without greed, little will get done. If we all get paid the same whether I run a big business or sweep the floors, why would I bother go to far and have headaches? Why do I work 60 hrs a week if I get paid the same amount as someone who works 20 hrs a week? It is greed that drives us further.
aklim - I find your attitude very sad. Greed is based on selfishness. I find giving much more rewarding than receiving.
I don't believe anyone has been saying that all work should be rewarded equally. That is a very feeble reach to make your point.
The amount of time and effort a person devotes should be rewarded in accordance with the quality of that time and effort. When the dogs in the pack are looking around because they are INCREDIBLY FUCKING WORRIED THAT SOME OTHER DOG MIGHT NOT BE DOING AS MUCH, I maintain they aren't doing a particularly good job either.
The dogs that focus straight ahead with their eye on the goal will keep their weight moving forward - you'll always get ahead. Now about that lead dog..............
I'm sorry, but I just get so tired of everyone worried about someone getting something for nothing. FIX the fucking programs and spend time worrying about something worthwhile - jeez!

"My everyday dictionary defines charity as follows: 1. The providing of help to the poor. 2) That which is given to help the needy: alms. 3. An institution, organization, or fund to aid those in need. 4. Tolerance; leniency. 5. An act of good will. 6. Brotherly love.
Now that sounds pretty much like my concept of welfare

Maybe you do. What does the rest of the world think about it? It is the way of the world. What you want or I want has little to do with it any more than the sun rising in the east.
OK. Fair enough.
Why? Who cares what you devote to something. It is the results that count. You can spend 12 hrs a day working on something but if I can do it in 6 hrs, I am more efficient and am worth more than you.
I wish they would gut the programs.

I will endlessly rag about those who fraudulently use the system, that is a fact. The other fact that you are conveniently omitting is that I DO RAG ABOUT THOSE AT THE TOP. I rag about the government taking my money and giving it to those who don't deserve it, Not about giving it to those who are actually entitled to assistance. It doesn't get much more " on top" then the federal Government.
If by "on top" you mean wealthy business owners or CEO's then you are right. Why would I rag on someone who pays a higher percentage of taxes than I do. Why would I rag on someone just because they have become successful? I will rag on the CEO's that made millions and recieved Million Dollar bonuses while the company they were running was going bankrupt and being bailed out by the government. To rag on those others just because they are more successful and have more than I do is commonly called jealousy. I was raised to believe that if you aren't happy with your life, then change it. A person is where they are because of the choices they have made. Barring birth defects, or other disabilities brought on by things out of the persons control.) They will remain there until they change they way they think and lvie.
"you just don't get it."
What part am I not getting? The part about how I need to feel sorry for and support Mary Jane Rottencrotch who has six kids and no job because she found out it was easier to have children than get a job. Maybe it's the part where I need to support Andy the alcoholic because he would rather drink than work. Maybe it is Larry the Lazy ass I need to support because he can't hold a job where they actually expect him to work for his paycheck, not just show up at work.
Here's a thought. I am willing agree to the use of my tax dollars to pay for Mary Jane to get an education that will support those six kids, treatment for Andy to dry out and get a job. As for Larry, well, with my new found tax dollars that I have saved by not supporting Larry and his cousin, I will by a big assed flat screen TV and donate the box for him to live in.
Now, before you go off and say that not everyone has the same opportunities as others for a fair life. Bullshit. Everyone has the opportunity to go to PUBLICLY FUNDED SCHOOLS. everyone has the opportunity for a secondary education, if not through scholarships then through the Armed Forces. Those that are ineligible for Military Service can go to work for places like Mc Donalds or other employers that have scholarship programs, or they can find a little thing called a work ethic, that will get them just as far in the work force as an education. There are thousands of people in this country making very good money because they applied themselves in the workplace. Some with only a High School education some with out it.
so what exactly is it I don't get? enlighten me. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I don't understand your point. I just don't feel that it is the Government's place to provide for those who are CAPABLE of providing for themselves.

Oh hell look at it this way. If the USA would quit giving welfare to the rest of the world maybe people like me would be more tolerant to the welfare cheats here. You all seem to know what is being spent in Iraq for the war. Well how much is being given away for nothing in other places. As far as give and take the gov does both take from us all and give to the poor, some of which are quite capable of working but choose not to.
"Does that include the welfare cheats that belong to Corperate America? "
Personally I don't think the Government belongs anywhere in the private sector. If somone is smart enough to open their own business and has the brains, know how and financial support to get things up and running, then they should be smart enough to not run the company into the ground. If they do then that is their fault and their problem, but hey that's just me.

Oh yes, content! Same old broken-record alarmist bullshit. This devastating slide we are on has been a long time coming. You can point fingers in every direction and hit culpable blame. Greenspan has even come out and said he fucked up.
The raw fact is that the inevitable was escalated when Cowboy W rode the tails of unified patriotism fostered by 9/11. I use W as a symbol of the administration for the last eight years, because personally, I don't think W could find his way out of a wet paper bag.
Big Oil and the Hallibutrons had the door to Fort Knox opened to them and, poof! bye bye national wealth (any mystery that only a few months ago there was a TV special covering the boom times currently happening in Texas?). And don't try to feed me that crap about their profits being only 10%. Most small countries could run quite nicely on what amounts to 10% for those clowns.
Final analysis - two thumbs down due to excessive bullshit and 2 + 2 = 5 logic.
