There seems to be one thing almost completely lacking in this forum (for obvious reasons). It is the first-hand perspective of those 65 and older.
There is no substitute for experience. Those who experienced The Great Depression first-hand lack a voice here. They SHOULD have a voice of authority like no other!
I suggest everyone go to their elders, in this case, for the best possible solution. They'll quickly uncomplicate it and get 'er done!
By the way, that isn't terribly bad advice for life in general (where appropriate obviously), is it? What the hell else do we keep them (us) around for?
Dale
(I think, possibly, there is even a good lifestyle application for this advice - but that would be a different thread - takers?))

Dale, lifestyle advice from our elders? And I thought I was the one between us that took too many bumps on the head. Let me tell you a story bud.
When we first moved to Florida the wifes grandmom didn`t want us to leave her up north by herself so she moved here with us and was living with us. One night while everone was relaxing around the house, granny calls for me to come to her room. I yell ok and walk down the hall. Her door is open so I turn and go into her bedroom. There she is, all 81 years at that time of her in the buff, sitting on the bed. She wanted me to get something opened for her that she did not have the hand strength to do on her own. I told her to put her robe on or something or close her door if she is going to be naked around the house. She told me if we are going to be living together then we are going to see each other naked so what is the big deal. If we ever went to her for lifestyle advice I would be afraid of what she would say or do.
Now most of our friends are also lifestyle friends so when we have a family function and the family leaves the rest of us can have some fun. Problem is granny hits on all the men and doesn`t want to leave till all the men leave.
So how about this...if we have the need for lifestyle advice we just come bug you and leave our sex starved granny out of it.
BTW...we apologize for the visual this may have given some of you.
