even the commodities market and speculation works on supply and demand. you are simply guessing at the future supply and demand of a product or item. it must work hilary turned 10k into 100k on cattle futures,remember
The big problem with the whole supply and demand in relation to futures is that without actually buying the actual product or commodity, the price for that item is driven up. Once that price is up the companies that need that commodity have to pay that new higher price to acquire that item. In the end, the final consumer is forced to pay a higher price for their basic needs. All this just so a few people can sit in an office and make more money without having to actually do any real work.

I know that not all or Wall Street, et al. are corrupt or trying to make money off the misery of the rest of the population. However is speculators weren't allowed to trade unchecked they can easily bring about another Enron-esque scenario like what happened to electricity in California.
At what point do we have the unchecked speculator trading halted and bring back some level of sanity back to stock trading? I say it is high time to kick the speculators out of commodity trading entirely.
