As I watch our economy spiral out of control, I have come to the conclusion that in the simplest of terms the problem is GREED (one dictionary definition - selfish and grasping desire for possesion, esp. of wealth).
Who more closely resembles a poster child for GREED:
1. Corporate executives bailing with golden parachutes while their company crumbles
2. The workers who put their faith in their company, left unemployed and holding useless stock options
???
Which party represents which group?
Nuff, said.

Chrke2, are you suggesting that one or more of the political parties are complicit in some nefarious dealings? Who would think that our great nation would allow such goings ons? Are you suggesting that our government and the 2 party system is corrupt? Is this republic not for the people and by the people and of the people? Are our representatives in the government of the free people not honest and forthright? Oh my, and I thought that we had a good thing here. Maybe the keyword there is HAD. We've been had and will continue to be had until we had better get off of our collective asses and do something to get people honest...and not believing in the Flintstones like some polititians....Nuff is e-nuff.
Mr. Lincoln said "That a government for the people and by the people, can not fail."
Mr Kennedy said "Ask not what your government can do for you. Ask what you can do for your government."
And Mr. King had a dream.
so when you put all of these thing together we must remember, our country can not fail. However we can fail our country.
oh one last thought. After all is said and done there is always more said then done. so are you a talker or duer.

The only answers I have are culled from old-fashioned common sense. A commodity in short supply these days:
- don't take more than you need
- conserve
- try to fully appreciate what you have on a daily basis
- foster good will
Life isn't really so complicated. We just do our best to make it that way. You live for what amounts to a very brief time and then you die. How you conduct yourself during that period is usually insignificant, except to those around you.
My only answer to greed is - it seems to be coming home to roost right now.
By the way Surfrider, who stole the center while I was sleeping?
