We were just watching a great movie in the last while that prompted some thoughts about sexuality or sexual orientation and where it comes from. This movie was about a very sexy attractive looking girl that was blind from her childhood, and then was able to receive a modern miracle cornea transplant in her 30
I don't think I'm going to necessarily believe the "experts" or specific scientific studies on this one. I don't believe there is enough current, reliable data to confirm anything resembling a conclusion.
There are simply too many twists and turns to assume we have ample information for conclusive answers. The simple disparity between the number of bi/bi-curious women vs. men on each swing site I've visited is a curiousity that has not yet been satisfactorily explained. What then the original nature of transgenders and others in the "gray" spectrum? Or, bi-friendly? Or, etc.?
While history has documented deviation from sexual norms for hundreds of years (much longer, I'm sure), I don't think there has been any real grasp of the complexity of "what's out there" until some time after the so-called sexual revolution. Did the revolution also create an environment that not only recognized, but encouraged thinking/acting outside the box (no pun intended)?
Today's societal barriers and taboos are minimal compared to fifty years ago. We have lived in a "me" society for a relatively short period of time. In general, if one isn't a child molester or animal torturer, people really don't give a shit what one does in their personal life.
So, in my humble opinion, damned if I know!
But, here's what I think. I believe there is a genetic predisposition for sexual orientation. I believe that predisposition is variable in intensity. I believe that environment can play a large role in determining sexual orientation. Blend together a few billion people, each with their own unique set of life experiences, and, voila!!! The answer to the question! Next?

As to your first question, it is said that orientation is like a sliding window... Each day one could be attracted to like gender somewhat and to the oposite gender, more, the next day. This is a continual process... I think that for the most part, orientation is more a genetic predisposition but that is reinforced by training and environmental issues. For exanple, a young boy is attracted to other boys but all the clues around him say this is not the right thing to do, so the boy withholds or denighs his attraction until he is grown and wometimes ruins the life that he has started... I think that a blind person has some of these same verbal clues and endoctrinations but since they can't see the gender their attractions would come from verbal clues and personality projections.
I went with a blind girl when I was a teen. I'm not sure what drove her to such a thing but she was like a second skin. She wanted to be so close, both emotionally and physically. I was not ready for an attachment like that.. As for what her attraction was based on.... I never tried to analyze it.
I would believe that if a person gained sight after many years of being blind... Their sexuality and sensuality would be engrained and sight would only enhance whatever their orientation is or was. This is not to say that they might find that the oposite orientation is not also attractive. This is one of the best things about being human...... We have the ability to reacess things and make decisions based on new data or input... And, as for becomming bi when they were once straight......WHY NOT.. But these are only my opinions based on a fairly extensive life experience. Some 62 years of life and 50 years of hugging, kissing, loving girls and women.... It might be different for women and girls but I think the basics remain the same regardless of gender...
Other opinions may vary and depending on fuel and road conditions and weather milage may vary....

I, personally, don't think you can change your orientation, it is something that is developed in childhood, and you are not aware until you become an adolescent. I knew I was a bisexual in my teens, and even though I primarily was with women, I always had the desire to be with a man. That desire has never gone away.
Now, as an adult, I have learned that I can be with both a man and a woman, and be sexually satisfied. The sexual satisfaction is obviously different, but, it is very exciting. It is wonderful to be able to explore your sexuality freely, and bisexuals are very open-minded individuals.
Again, this is my opinion. I have lived a good sexual life, for the most part, and right now is the best time. I have a wonderful woman, who accepts me for who I am, and loves to see my bi side in action. We have met some wonderful swingers, and would not change anything.

Wow, incredible topic here. Let me start by saying we did have a blind friend who was a drummer and singer in a band and he was straight. Jimmy was born blind and a little guy but he loved the bbws.
As for us, I the male am straight. I have thought about your question and still do not have a clear answer. I am going to assume that because when I was a kid it was ok to see my brothers naked, but boys could never see the girls naked, it made you curious. I was taught in high school that it is human nature to want what we are not allowed to have, so maybe it is that which makes me desire the female body. Also, I try t omake common sense of everything and can`t help but to think why would I want to play with another dick when I already have my own. The society I grew up in was one with boys being attracted to girls so it could also be a learned thing. In my late teens I dated a bisexual girl and opened my mind to the fact that others have different wants then I and they should be respected as they respect me.
My wife, Lori was raised differently. Her dad left when she was a child to be with his male lover and she has not had any contact wit hhim since she turned 18. Her mom had a very close friend who was openly gay before he passed away and he became somewhat of a father figure to her. Her best friend from when she lived in Texas was a gay couple who are still the best of friends to both of us. So she has been around the acceptance of open sexuality for most of her life. Since we met in 1999 I have questioned her sexuality and encouraged her to just be herself and feel free to express herself. Just recently she has realized she is attracted to women as well.
Now my question to your question is would this be possibly genetic, since her dad is bi or gay or is it something she has developed from being exposed to it most of her life? Sorry to ask you to answer your own question but this is the best we have to offer.

according to the annalists in the field of biological desires it depands , there are two categories of people one are known with the nik- name KEN-N- BARBEE witch stands for the beautiful attractive men and woman then is the other category the opposite sex people known as the ugly flintstone's men and woman i.e. CHRKE2 in most cases they are also emotionly disturbed it is most likely genetic they are treated by there own GROUPTHERAPISTS but allways looking out for luck to hook up with the other sex people , the ken-n-barbee's trying to to turn off their desires so they can get a " mercy fuck" from the ken-n-barbee's so now by order of jesses and muhammad mercy fucks are now permitted to the unfortunate provided they don't post in the fourms and move 'em , don't have sexuly and emotionly transmitted dieses or desires ...
MY REPLY TO THIS TOPIC WAS ON DR.ZIGGY BEFORE THE EMOTION DISTURBED MOVED HERE...see you in next fourm .lol.

Group, we see you asked the question but offered no opinion. What is your theory? And should we ask about transgendered people as far as if it is from birth, or something learned, or so on? I know, your movie, your thread, but just hoping we can add that in there.
Wasn't this thread 2-3 pages long earlier today?
We do have some thoughts and opinions about this NPNUDISTCPLE and we hope to give those here shortly. Just wanted to see what others that are sincere communicators and thinkers think about this. Only cause when we do, it may change the whole direction of this topic. This will have some start thinking deeply on things they may not have thought about as of yet.
Thanks for the comments and responses so far. Great info has been provided to research, and we love the Readers Digest version on the forum. Part of the question we would like to see more comments and your take on is that of "Visual Attraction" that leads to sexuality and or sexual orientation.
Most of us with sight see the things as we get bombarded with the sexy add, on TV etc. throughout our lives. So does this play into our sexuality and sexual desire? We would have to say FOR SURE.
However, what about those without sight? Does anyone know anyone that is blind and considered Bi or Gay / Lesbian?
For others that read and respond here, we hope to keep this on topic and ask that you do your best to do so for the other readers and post. If you see the OFF the WALL posts by the well

Never knew any blind folks, but I (Mr. Simple) had a job where i worked with a gay guy. We would comment on the way certain women looked and both agreed as to what was attractive and what wasn't.
Yet when we would look at men, I agreed that certain men were attractive, yet he was aroused at their looks, ad jut the opposite when we looked at a great looking women.
While I'm not the lease worried about someone horse slapping me in the arm during a group outing, i get no thrill out of it. Yet let the breast of another rub my back while the misses and I are engaged, and I perform like a 14 year old.
I used to think it was a choice issue, but as i have grown older, I am starting to believe that there are other factors involved.
I guess I'm leaning toward the born with the attraction cells theory.
Just glad mine coincide with my crotch, I can use the $20,000 to purchase toys instead of trying to make my body agree with my mind.

Long post. Take a deep breath...
I think the real question being posed here is how much of what we call

Yes, visual attraction leads to sexual orientation. If I am attracted to you visually then I am going to want to enjoy you thus causing me the prefer that sex. But.... what causes visual attraction. I have a theory so please don`t anyone take this as an insult because I am included in this. As Group said, all the ads that we are bombarded with suggest to us that it is normal for boy to meet girl and be attracted to each other. With out going into detail we are also taught that Ken and Barbie types are sexy.
So do we simply agree with society because we are followers rather then leaders who make up our own minds? Are straight people just giving in to peer pressure? If this is true. would that not make the people who are not afraid to stand out stronger people, maybe better leaders? Are the openly bisexual or gay people stronger willed and more able to make up their own minds then us straight people?
To support my theory, we met a couple at Club Elite Swingular party and both are openly bisexual. We knowingly ignored others that we had wanted to meet because we were so mesmerized by this couple. They are both confident, secure in themselves, and proud of being who they are while respecting our differing sexual orientation. Looks aside, they way they carried themselves was very visually stimulatiing to us.
Rereading my words makes me wonder, is visual attraction based on more then an image on the surface of someones skin? Sorry to make this deeper then it already is but you have my brain stimulated.
