ok..so we have been trying to think about what sermint is actually asking here. So we are going to be nice and actually take a stab at this. First we respect everyones right to practice whatever religion or non religion they like. It is their personal choice just as it is ours to believe what we want. To us looking at Spermints post we are guessing he is a religious believer and what he is asking is this. Is it sin to swing or is it not sin and if its not can you explein how it isn't. Are we right here spermint? Our response to that question is this. The biblical basis ( in our opinion) for claiming that what we partake in is sin is based and centered on a few verses. 1 being that we would be commiting aduletry based on the ten commandments . The 2nd being that Jesus says if a man looks upon another woman lustfully he has already committd adultery with her and 3rd Paul says we should have but one wife and be committed souly to her. Our response to thsoe verses are this. 1. Adultery defined means that you are commiting sexual acts with another person that is not your wife. We'll add to that by saying that it also means without their knowledge. Cheating.. Now I don't know of to many swing couples that would disagree with that.. Swinging without their partner or spouse knowing would constitute adultery or cheating.. I know in our relationship it would.. But..if the other partner is present, knows about it or is in agreement with the act it..in our opinion it no longer falls under adultery or cheating it becomae a shared experience.. Just like if we had gone out to dinner and a movie would be a shared experience.. we just choose to do it naked....with othre cpls.
2. Jesus' claim. Lust can be defined as wanting so bad that it consumes you..its all you think about, its all you want to do.. It becomes you and defines you.. He is correct in saying that if you lust after someone other than your wife you commited adultery...because the attention and desires you should be directing at your wife/husband or partner are now being stolen from them and being directed at your new interest. Your new love becomes that which you do not have and instead of that which you do. Our opinion.. again..our relationship comes first. WE come before THEY and in this lifestyle we feel there is no need to lust or want..simply because if the urge to be with someone else comes about.. we are opne enough with each other to just ask for the opportuntiy to play.. and a good percentage of the time it is given and the urge is satisfied. Lust has no place because it generally arises from the desire to have something you know you cannot..
3. Pauls charge for one wife. Our opinion. We are not married to anyone but each other.. and this is a joint decision that we are making. The claim that he made was based on the men at the time had multiple wives that were arguing and fighting and there was non stop drama. So it was better for them to have one wife.. to better focus on God and not the issues going on around them.. Paul also said that its better for man not to marry at all for that reason. But if they did they should love their wives etc. Again..we are not married to more than one wife.. We just enjoy sharing with other husbands and wives of like mind. Every organized religion serves 3 primary purposes; 1) to explain the why's and how's of creation, 2) to give a foundation of how to live, 3) to give comfort about death. From the beginning of time religious leaders have used the power of religion as a means of controlling the masses to do what the leaders wanted or at least thought was best.
Judao-Christian and Islamic religions went a step farther and created the concept of sin as a method of control. They created a list of commandments and declared that to violate these was to be in sin. Some sins were of greater import than others but it all equalled to the same thing, commit too many or even one of the wrong ones and you would be barred from from enjoyment and peace offered in the afterlife.
So to answer the original question here, Can you swing and not be in Sin? Absolutely you can. Sin cannot exist seperate of heavily regulated and controlled organized religion. Since Religion itself is a fabrication of man, then so Sin is also a fabrication. I don't know too many swingers that particularly care for anyone else telling them what to do, how to do it, or whom they can do it with, regardless of the area of their life. What we were saying is that it is a personal choice you need to make. Wether single, married, attached, or whatever your relationship may be. Again..our position is this.. We are not going to be told what is right or wrong by someone whose opinion of right or wrong doesn't matter to us. Its a personal choice and if God..or Mohammed, or Buddha or whomever you believe in and pray to.. And believe they talk back.. If they tell you its wrong. then you listen to them.. not people.. because most people have a set whats right or wrong mentality...and they generally expect those around them to have that same mindset..but it is not so.. Well Spermint, let me try to be serious and give you my answer and see if it applies to your question.
I used to date this girl and we went to different churches. My catholic church said she is not welcome to worship there since she is presbyterian. Her presbyterian church said I am welcome there anytime. I told my catholic church what they could do with their church and that they would not be getting any more donations from us and our company pulled our advertising. At this time in my life I fell into your don`t ask my now because I am horney catergory.
Then comes along my fiance who did not care about religion but 8 months before we were married she passed away suddenly. Why would any god do this and leave me to raise her two kids from before we met. But we are told to never doubt the word of god...why not?
Now I meet my wife Lori and she used to serve in the episcopal church and going to church is important to her. We get all involved, start a youth movement in the chuch and and we get a lot of younger couples to come back to church. Suddenly the church is the cool place for kids to hang out on weekends doing things with the youth directors.
Then we move to Florida and don`t find a church we like but we do find this site. On this site we found our god, the man we worship. We found a god that welcomes our doubts and questions and answers them with reason. Our god, the almighty god, will lead us to the horney land. He is a brave man, and educator of all who doubt their current god. How ironic is it that he is named after my former favorite drink and my wifes favorite flower. Wont you all please join us in the FUCTARD fellowship led by our god, the one and only Tequila Rose.
OK ,if you made it this far, really, just listen to the guy. Don makes sense and we agree most times with him. If we were still religious we would probably feel guilty about swinging. By reading topics on this site in forums we have decided that religion and worshipping anyone other then each other is not for us.

Okay, so I too cannot understand the posts our friend Spermint is making. It's not the content, I'm a smart guy, I just can't read what you write. Please, don't treat the English language like a cheap foreign hooker. Use proper punctuation, a spell checker, and capital letters in all the right places. As for asking what you can do in the lifestyle without breaking God's law, you have so many problems. First you have to determine which Christian sect you want to try and live up to, then you have to face the simple fact that in general, organized religion has been barely tolerant of sex between a married man and his wife!
It's a noble goal to try and find a religion you can swing in, but it's easier, and frankly, more practical to simply align yourself with what you believe is a good way to live. In the end, all you're doing is trying to find a way to get around religion, and you can't.

I'll start off by saying that if you are doing this much research regarding religions and what they allow or don't allow regarding sexual activity it has to make me wonder if you're seriously considering converting to another religion just to save yourself the guilt of sin brought upon by whatever religion you happen to be at the moment. All religions have been formed and molded over the years by people. People who are not perfect, who have their own agendas. A sense of right and wrong doesn't come solely from religion. Many religions would like you to think that in an attempt to keep you in their camp and they'll be more than happy to tell you what is right and wrong for the rest of your life (in case you can't think for yourself).
But if you have to switch religions just so that you can sleep at night after a fun-filled evening of swinging, you have some other things to figure out. Or perhaps you should just start you're own religion, where you can make all the rules. In any case, I think its fairly safe to say that most religions believe quite strongly that those of us engaging in the swinging lifestyle are sinning by engaging in immoral activities, just cuz they don't use the actual word sin, doesn't mean anything. Its just more politically correct these days to say immoral. In any case though, they most certainly believe that we (swingers) will most definitely be going to a very special level of hell, a level reserved for... (sorry, narrowly avoided an obsure pop culture reference)
As for me, yes I believe there is a God. And one of the few things that I think is accurately stated repeatedly in the bible is to love thy neighbor and I'm more than happy to spread the love around in whatever way/shape is available to me.
